Came here as a recommendation from a friend and must say it didn't disappoint! Delicious food and passion fruit poncha, great atmosphere, lovely and friendly staff. Beautiful little gem not far from Funchal. Very impressed. 5 🌟

This place is an absolute gem and well worth the hike through the gorgeous mountains. The food was impeccable and extremely well-priced. The service was very warm and welcoming. And, to my delightful surprise, they even serve perry! Can't wait to go back!

really nice atmosphere, nice people and the best vegetarian burger i've ever had in my life. the fries also taste great and the sandwiches tastes as good as they look and smell!

They have the best mojitos I have ever had, you need to try it! The staff was very friendly and accomodating, the food was terrific, the cocktails were great (try the poncha's and the cold swallow) and the music took us on a trip down rock memory lane followed by some blues to go with our Irish coffee and vodka cacao. It's just a great place to try out some new flavours, and we could not have asked for a better way to start off our holiday. We will be visiting next time we are in Madeira!

Excellent food and drinks, w/ very competitive prices. The staff are very helpful and friendly, even with a full house they strive to serve quickly. If you go during the week the atmosphere is quieter. If you choose to stay outside, there is plenty of space and a breathtaking view to the mountains. We choose the regional poncha and ate a picado with a bolo do caco. Good variety of wines too! The food was so good that I only remembered to take a picture almost at the end! 😂

Wow! We went here after the Pico to Pico hike and had a great vegetarian Burger, a refreshing lemonade and an espresso for under 10€! You have to take a small dirt road to reach this place. A hidden gem!

For this pricing and remote, exclusive location it was a positve experience to join for lunch/dinner - more than we expected during a trek along the many fantastic routes around

Very cozy place in the middle of the bushes. A mandatory stop while you are hiking in the area. There is also a nice viewpoint nearby called Pico Alto.

Absolutely stunning place in the middle of mountains! Most delicious steak sandwich and bolo do caco we had in Madeira. They even have a vegetarian picado which was delicious. Poncha was amazing. The service is extremely kind and helpful. A MUST if you visit this island!

Awesome place! Best I've been in Madeira since a week. Very friendly service, especially appreciated when you're travelling solo and have a bit of a chat. Good food, as vegetarian this was by far the best dish in Madeira. And just good vibes in nature.

Great place in the Nature. Rustic caban, great food, nice drive getting there, throughout Madeira landscape. Friendly staff, always prompt the help you, with a smile. Love it a lot. Surely recommend it.

If you love the mountains you’ll love having a stop at O Barracão. Set in the valley of the Ecological Park the bar offers excellent snacks, drinks and even live music. Certainly a little bit of heaven in paradise.

What a lovely morning up in the mountains above Funchal, only 25mins from the city center. We followed the stream up into the foggy hills full of blooming flowers to a small waterfall, an ideal quiet place to think. On the way down we said hi to the donkeys and were met by the perfect ending— lunch at O Barracão! Inside this family run cozy rustic cabin with chill music you can get some delicious steak sandwiches and drinks, and on Friday’s and Saturday’s they have live music.
