The best craft beer bar in Madeira? Certainly the best we found. Sampled the Passionfruit IPA and Raspberry Sour so far and both lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful. Eight drafts and lots of bottles. All great examples of the Portuguese craft beer scene. Will be back for more later! Edit: been back for more great beers. To add a further positive, both times we’ve been here they’ve been playing a chilled 80s mix.

What a find! Transformed my week’s holiday in Funchal. Never realised you could get this range and quality of IPAs, NEIPAs, etc, beyond the UK - clearly I need to look harder in future. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and the best beers I’ve tasted outside West Yorkshire. Currently on our third visit and will be back again.

Even Funchal and Madeira is famous for its great wine, this is island for beer lovers! Nice modern place with very good choice of local craft beers.

Fantastic little bar with a wide selection of craft beers from Portugal. Super friendly staff with a clear love for craft beers (and castles). If you are in Funchal you should definitely visit this bar. If you guys ever visit Scotland I'll show you round some castles!

This is a fantastic little ale and wine bar. The proprietor, his wife and staff work really hard to make all of their guests feel important and very welcome, regardless of whether they are local regulars or tourists just passing through. The choice of beers on tap is broad and thoughtful. There is also a great choice of cans bottles and well chosen wines. The homemade food is delicious. A bar, as good as you'll find anywhere, that I can recommend without reservation!

Great selection of beers 7 or 8 on cask. Had an excellent (few) Hazy NEIPA. If you're an ale lover... This is the place in Funchal and probably Madeira.

The best restaurant pub of the island. We went there twice, and everything was fantastic: the beers, the food, the atmosphere. The owner was very welcoming, friendly, and even showed us how the traditional poncha is done. One day we will go back to Madeira, and FugaCidade will be our first stop. See you soon!

What a great find! If you want something other than the ever present Coral lager then this is the place to visit. They have a changing range of Portuguese craft beers of differing styles and strengths, the bar staff are very friendly and food is available too. We were made to feel more welcome here than any other bar or pub I have ever visited either at home (UK) or abroad. It’s a bit hidden away off the main drag but well worth seeking out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this beer haven, which offered a wide selection of Portuguese beers on tap and in the fridge. Unfortunately, we arrived too late for dinner, but we are definitely planning to return to try it out next time. The owner of the place was exceptionally kind and treated us to his homemade favabeans snack, which added an extra touch of hospitality to our experience.

Very nice real ale bar. 8 lines with beer largely from Lisbon. Good quality and a nice place to relax and have proper beer rather than euro fizz. Friendly place - there's an overspill downstairs and the staff will serve you there. Food also very good - my 6 euro chilli was tasty and enough. The flava beans that come with the beer as a tapas are excellent. Quite an attractive bar. Only slight foible is the toilet door key thing. You have to ask for it then hand it back. As the loos are downstairs and the place a little off the beaten track I don't imagine they get hounded by folk using the loo without paying. Anyway a minor issue in the scheme of things....

Great beer and great people. I went back each night I was on the island. Good varied tap list and well stocked fridges(take away available with 20% discount). Mostly Portuguese but also a good selection from a Swedish brewery and others from across Europe. The owner is extremely friendly and happy to recommend some of the more special choices available.

Amazing small pub with great draft beer (8 lines) and a huge bottle selection. Prices are very reasonable and staff is super friendly. You get some crisps with every order.

Visited here twice during my trip to Madeira, it was comfortable and felt welcomed~ I personally am not much of a beer drinker, but my partner is and this place was still able to accommodate my sweet pallet :) plus the free snacks with each drink purchased was a very positive bonus! The owner was also very friendly and fun to chat to :)

One of the few places on the island where you actually could find good craft beer! The draft selection was pretty good and they offered several options on bottle or can, as well. Very friendly staff and very competitive pricing, especially considering the free snacks that accompanied the beer.

Great bar, friendly service. Flight boards are great in that you can select the beers you want to taste they are not pre selected like other bars.

Great craft beer bar in Funchal! Been a handful of times already. Rotating tap with a good selection of Portuguese beers. Also have an extensive bottle selection. Friendly, very knowledgeable bartender/owner. Definitely worth stopping by for a few.

Nice little craft beer bar. Friendly staff and good range of beer. Got wee samples to try before buying which meant I got something I liked. Recommended and would go back. Very reasonable for the beer esp compared to UK prices.

The beer scene feels quite new in Madeira. This place though had some interesting beers from Portugal on tap with good imperial stouts as well . Didn't try their selection of cans and bottles. Service was good
