Was so excited to try this place for cocktails after seeing such good reviews, but was honestly shocked they were the worst cocktails I’ve had in so long! We ordered a selection of the happy hour ones (2 for €6) and each was as bad as the other!? The food looked amazing but we didn’t stay for that. Would say definitely go for the food and a beer but don’t bother with the cocktails 😢

This is definitely our new favourite place in Funchal. Everyone in the staff was extremely friendly, happy and energetic. The place had a really good vibe. The food menu is rather short, but the chicken and beef we tried both tasted really good and we loved all the cocktails we had as well.

Never write reviews, however this place is awesome. Great experience, inexpensive food, and incredible service. Must go if you’re in need of a wonderful, and unique meal in the heart of Funchal. (P.s. come at happy hour for wonderful deals, 6-7)

The MadCuba is located in a side street that I didn't find immediately 😅. The service was friendly and quick. The food was tasty, especially the braised chicken was really well seasoned and tender - it fell off the bone right away. The smoothie was a little too sweet for me, but all together, the food was still delicious. Unfortunately, I did not know that I had to light the ordered flan with rum, so I just ate it as it was. Maybe it is even better if it is set on fire :p

Best cocktail happy hour in Funchal. The waiter is really friendly and we loved his stories. The food is great as well. Good value.

Coming from the South in the US ( large Cuban/Mexican population) I can tell you this is some of the best Hispanic food I've eaten in Portugal. The pork dish was great as well as the sauces. Margarita could use some ice but really enjoyed it all

Cool place, pleasant service and fair prices. Slightly away from the busy street, but for us that was only a plus. The food was delicious and the non-alcoholic drinks we had were great as well.

The food was well made and tasty. We had the vegetarian and shredded pork meal platters with two finely crafted Mojitos. Don’t miss happy hour! The only negative was that they seemed to forget about taking my order. I had to go up to the desk to place it. The manager needs to exercise some quality control over his staff. But that seemed to get the ball rolling and service was good after that...

A very cozy place in a small street to get something to eat and drink. Food was really delicious and tasty. Vegetarian and Vegan options available. The waitress was really nice and explained everything and recommended some drinks. I would only criticise the time it took to get the drinks. When the place was full outside drinks took some time and the staff felt a little bit overwhelmed. However, the cocktails were really delicious!

The place is very nicely hidden in a quiet and discreet street in Funchal. To be honest in terms of atmosphere in the evening it is pretty nice and chill. We had cocktails here and I have to say they were very nice and tasted fresh. Authentic cuban Mojito with great flavors, fresh mint and Havana Club Rum. Very nice and not too sweet and the blend between the Rum, sparkling water and mint with sugar was delightful. The Pina Colada also was really great and authentic made with Coconut Cream which was very light. Topped with coconut crumbs inside again tasted like freshness in a good summer day after a long walk. I would definetely recommend you stop by to have drinks here. It is worth it!

Lovely place with authentic food (very delicious). Super nice service, very quick and friendly. The mojitos are very good - all cocktails are tasty. Highly recommendable, especially with the Happy Hours.

Very good food in restaurant of mainly local (?) clientele. Nothing fancy, but tasty simple, normal food and delicious drinks for fair price, for a lot less than many other restaurants 9,5 -13,5e meals). Thats why 4/5 stars for food since it was not a fancy dinner, which i wasnt looking for eather. Location in a 'poorer' area of old town. Cocktails at happy hours really cheap: 2 for Prince of 1 (6e). Great service too! I recommend!

Went here last minute for the happy cocktails which were great but the food the pulled pork was amazing and some of the best I've ever had. The staff were kind and accommodating to picky eaters. Definitely a hidden gem with really good prices.

Delicious food from a very small menu. Great cocktails. Would recommend arriving here earlier than 8ish on weekends as they were out of ingredients for some cocktails already when we ordered. Service is a bit slow, but the waiter was super friendly.

Small bar / restaurant with a large choice of cocktails and a number of dishes on the menu. Food tasted excellent and the cocktails were delicious. And all that for a competitive price. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by here and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and friendly service.

Lovely place. Very good service and nice people :) Great cuban food. It offergreat food at reasonable prices. Cocktail Happy Hour is daily from 18:00-19:00, so two cocktails for the price of 6 Euros. The only thing I would do differenatly: Offer maybe Chatinos (fried Banana, very famous in Cuba). That would make the food perfect. :)

A little touch of Cuba in Madeira. Delicious cocktails and just for 3.5€ a piece. If you catch a happy hour you will have a slight discount. Food is nice too, eh. A local version of cuban ropa vieja.

Who knew I’d get amazing Cuban food in Madeira? Really delicious. We ordered the slow cooked beef and chicken. Plus drinks. All amazing and such a good price. Highly recommend.

We love Mad Cuba so much we’ve been about 6 or 7 times over the last few months. The food is exceptionally good, well made, carefully paired, and authentic. The cocktails are a steal at around €3-4 and are of the highest calibre. My favourite is the classic margarita (the best I’ve had in Madeira is from this place!). I get the vegetarian option which is also exceptional. The service is lovely and the place is very quirky.

Was super delicious. I got the veggie option. Mom got the pulled pork. Then we got drinks. Everything was only €22. So delicious and so cheap. Want to come back Tomorrow.

A hidden little gem in Madeira that is a bit hard to find if you miss the steps. You absolutely need to book a table as every seat was taken when we came to our reserved table. The restaurant is really easy to contact through a WhatsApp call. They only offer five options (veggie/vegan, pork, chicken, beef and prawn needs to be preordered) but the were absolutely delicious. We tried the pulled beef and pork. Each dish came with rice, beans and some sweet potato chips. The pork came with a refreshing dressing. The beans were cooked perfectly and the meat was so tender. The maracuja mojito is also recommended!

Small but good menu, the portion size isn't too big but you won't leave hungry. The happy hour cocktails are really tasty, maybe a little bit weak but the price easily makes up for that.

I visited with my partner, the vibe of the place fit the name perfectly. Food and drinks were cheap but just because they were cheap did not mean they were not great! Food was nicely flavoured with a great portion size. I had a classic mocktail and I would say its one of the best I've tried, not too overly powerful with alcohol thar it tastes bitter but the right amount. 👌 Definitely would've come back if it wasn't for my last night in maderia.

Lovely and genuine food! I am from Cuba and we had a lovely dinner. Food is amazing and the restaurant is like a piece of Cuba in Madeira. As for the drinks, piña colada and mojitos are my favorite ♥️ We will come back for sure ✨ To book a table in advance is recommendable since usually the place is full.
