Our stay at Pestana Palms has been wonderful. Lovely room. Well presented. High standard of bedding and room cleaning during our stay Very attentive staff in their restaurant Flor Do Mare. Buffet was excellent quality. Plenty of choice also. Lovely views over the ocean. Can truly recommend Pestana Palms.

Fantastic one week's holiday with exceptional guest service. Reception staff extremely helpful nothing too much trouble with special mention to Cristina and Duarte on reception. Brilliant holiday all round. Thank you to all the lovely staff at this hotel. Choose bed and breakfast plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Regular bus service into Funchal.

We visited with a friend who is now an owner. We had a coffee in the new pool bar. It is all very beautiful.

Friendliness & exceptional Hospitality is the Signature of this Hotel. We stayed 14-days half-board in a very spacious Suite Superior Seaview with a sizeable balcony equipped with coffee table set and sunbeds. The bottle of ice-cooled Sparkling Wine along with delicious Hors d’oeuvres in welcoming us is a fine gesture & very much appreciated. The friendliness of every Staff member we met are remarkable, genuine, giving to service whole-heartedly and always with Smiles. The Vila Lido Restautant is excellent, dishes prepared with passion, great service throughout the Dinner. We got to mention, they spared no effort to do everything in dealing with our concerns so that we can just be eased, satisfied and glad. Particular in our case, as 14-day guests, when craving for a change in the food array is anticipated, we’re given the option for the days that follow just to say what we wish to eat - off the menu & dishes were prepared with the same passion and excellence. Huge appreciation to the Chef… to Luis, Joao & the whole team, Hamza, MD, Leonardo just to mention a few along with those at Flor do Mar Restaurant … to Veronica for preparing my favorite Omelett always with her Smile. Many thanks as well to the housekeeping, clean room, fresh, extra towels, the little surprises with fruits, cakes and other sweets, when we got back in late afternoon after a tiring day out is just so nice. Large newly refurbished air conditioned rooms, very nice bathroom but wardrobe with no doors spoils the appearance. Rooms used to have small kitchen area but now only kettle and small fridge. Thankfully good buffet breakfast included in price. Pool area not in good condition because of building work which is still ongoing as toilets are not functioning yet. Gym is now on level 3 of the tower. There is not a functioning spa now. No indoor pool, nothing for children. No evening meals in buffet restaurant so dinner has to be taken in the Quinta (or go out). Staff are pleasant and eager to please. This hotel does not, at the moment, reach the standard of other 4 star hotels in the area.

Another gem of the Pestana group. Resort is perfectly situated. Spotless clean, has an awesome, welcoming staff, well maintained rooms and appartments, direct sea view, very nice and clean swimming pool, direct access for swimming in the ocean.

Really good hotel, I recommend. The rooms are comfy and the staff very welcoming. The breakfast is really nice with a lot of choices : pancakes, pastries, fruits, yogurt, eggs,... There is a bus stop near the hotel.

I am so happy to have been to this place. the hotel is in a perfect location by the sea and every night you can fall asleep to this sound. Every morning you will meet the sunrise on the balcony of the coffee restaurant. The staff is very friendly and nice, always trying to help you if you need it. the room is large, bright and very clean. I am very happy that I spent my vacation here.

Stayed here Nov 2022 spacious rooms and very clean , we were half board the breakfast were very good but evening meal was terrible and not much choice , also the entertainment was nil which was disappointing.

The hotel is a bit dated but I believe they are refurbishing. The rooms are quite big with a good balcony overlooking the ocean and a sunrise over the horizon. Again, they're a bit old and in need of some renewing. Breakfast was OK, not the best, and the same thing every day. The hotel isn't very good value for money for what it is. It's about a 30-40 minute walk from the main Funchal area but there are a lot of good restaurants nearby.

Excellent view of sunrise from the room we booked. Nice breakfast as well. Located a bit away from the town center so you've to plan your way around if you want to enjoy the city ambiance. The hotel is going to be renovated in the first half of 2023 so I'd expect a cleaner feel in future. Not that it lacked cleanliness but just the feel was not there

Great Hotel near the sea with a lovely service. Staff is extremly helpfull and polite. The location is amazing (just 10 minutes from Funchal city center) and located in amazing promenade. Recomended.

frankly a very good hotel that deserves five stars as it offers great services and ease of performance. It also has a delicious menu that you can't resist, in addition to the decor and good rooms to relax in. I'm so excited to visit this hotel next year and enjoying by every moment.

Lovely hotel in a great location. We had a beautiful sea view from the 6th floor. There is a super pool and restaurant area where you can relax down by the ocean. Location is within walking distance of the city centre to the East and the Forum shopping centre to the West, and there are ample facilities in the adjacent Lido area including restaurants, shops and car hire and tourist facilities.

A lovely hotel set in charming surroundings in the lido area of Funchal. First class facilities and excellent food, with friendly and attentive staff. For those who like to eat out there are an abundance of eating and drinking facilities on the doorstep and a large supermarket opposite. A short walk to centre of Funchal or if not too good on your feet a taxi rank opposite and an excellent bus service at the top of the rather steep hill to the main road. All in all a wonderful place to stay

Location next to the ocean. Wonderful views and friendly ambience . Close to a nice promenade with a lovely park . Within distance walking from Funchal if you want to try the cardiac hill or just take a taxi opposite the hotel entrance Staff always smiling and a lovely meal at what they call the Quinta, small nicely decorated bistro. Would highly recommend

Lovely holiday, already booked to come back in November! Just hoping that next year's refurbishment doesn't takeaway the character of the place. Update kitchens and bathrooms but please don't ruin with boring, run of the mill, global look. Keep the Madeiran Portuguese vibe please and I'll return in 2022.

Lovely place to stay. Rooms spotlessly clean and surprisingly large. Right by the sea with a lovely pool area. Retins a bit of old charm with a villa that serves as the bar/ a la carte restaurant in the grounds lovely for a glass of poncha in the evening!

We love Pestana Palms we have been going there for the last 18 years. Beautiful setting a very unique place. Lovely staff very helpful, very friendly. In our opinion the jewel in Pestana's crown. We look forward to many more years and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to anyone.

Helpful staff, beautiful views, clean and tidy. Grounds surrounding the complex are immaculate. Supermarket just over the rd. Happy hour cocktail in Pastana Palms bar. Big swimming pool, games room, spar and lots more to enjoy. Great place to unwind. Wonderful if you enjoy the sound of crushing waves against the volcanic rocky shore line. Very therapeutic.

Only ate in the restaurant however it was wonderful. The service was top tier, the food was delicious. Nobody in our group had anything but positive reports on their meals.

I highly recommend this hotel because it is very pleasant, complete, a family atmosphere and warm. Perfect for me.

Lovely time we had in this beautiful Hotel! We were very happy with our room looking over the sea. Staff are very friendly!

It's OK to use as a base. We stayed in the apartments which are tired and shabby. The pool area is nice. There is access to the sea for those of us who aren't faint hearted. Overall not too bad.

I had a wonderful experience in the hotel. The food is amazing and I felt welcomed there. Ps: Don't forget to go for a swim in the swimming pool or into the sea

I was treated very well before my arrival and during my stay. The staff was very friendly and responsive. The bed was the usual, very comfortable. The service was all that we we're looking for . Such a fantastic stay!
