The church was originally built as a three-aisled basilica in the Gothic style around 1250, then expanded by an imposing late Gothic hall choir between 1439 and 1477. It was seriously damaged 😔 during the Second World War and it took about seven years to restore it.

Even though it's only a parish church, Lorenzkirche has the majesty of a cathedral. It's probably the most impressive monument of architecture in the entire city. Everything about it can only be expressed in superlative terms. The atmoshere one finds inside is breathtaking and the art treasures are splendid and definitely worth seeing.

The Lorenzkirche is in the heart of the old city walls of Nüremberg. It chimes and reminds people what time of day it is no mater what part of the old town your in. Around Christmas time some of the best Christmas markets can be found in all the streets and market place area around the Church. This is a visually beautiful area of Nüremberg and the Christmas markets are a bonus, they truly are a annual treat.

One of the most beautiful churches in Nuremberg and I think the biggest. Two high bell towers,a huge rose window above the main entrance, nice decorated facade, with a lot of statues of different sizes. The interior is majestic and austere.

The church is located in the old town area of Nuremberg and visible as you walk down Konigstrasse. The large spires and the intricate design of the church is quite nice. The front of the church looks quite magnificent with the intricate door frame and circular motif above it. It was free to enter but they do ask for a donation. The interior is also quite nice with the high ceilings. There is a shop as well as information boards around the entrance to learn a bit more about the history of the church. It was a nice stop to see the designs and it is on the way to the castle area from the main train station.

Beautiful church with a treasure trove of artworks inside. The choir in the style of the German Sondergotik is particularly impressive. The choir also includes Veit Stoss' famous Angelic Salutation and the equally famous tabernacle by Adam Kraft. Many fascinating altars and statues.

The magic thing about the St. Lorenz (St. Lawrence) Church is its amazing rebuilding/restoration after it was almost completely destroyed during WWII. The church is wonderfully ornated. It is a true architectural gothic-style building. However, there aren't many people visiting it, and the walk-in is pleasant and relaxing.

St. Lorenz (St. Lawrence) is a medieval church of the former free imperial city of Nuremberg in southern Germany. It is dedicated to Saint Lawrence. The church was badly damaged during the Second World War and later restored. It is one of the most prominent churches of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria.

It's one of the churches that must be seen in Nurnberg because it's old and with an impressive architecture. I attended a Christmas concert there and the acoustics was perfect.

Simply put one of the most beautiful cathedrals I have ever seen. The whole structure is a work of art.

An absolutely beautiful church in an extraordinary city. As kind of an architecture and history buff visiting this site was a treat for both of those unique passions. As it was a weekend it was a little more crowded to enter than it would have been had I gone earlier in the week; but still well worth the wait.

what an amazing place! its hard to do it justice with pictures Although I tried my best. This cathedral is a wonderful piece of gothic architecture and I could look around all day but I did not have enough time to.

Very beautiful church that stands out from the shorter buildings around which makes it even more grand looking. There is so much detail on the facade and it’s a pity that the church was not open for visiting when I was there on a public holiday.

It is truly beautiful cathedral of gothic style in Nürnberg. Inside of Cathedral, there are a lot of monuments and reliefs. Especially, I would like to recommend seeing the large, powerful reliefs lowered from the canopy.

Beautiful church. This is one of the best preserved church during WW2, because Nuremberg city has an arts preservation program. Visit Nuremberg Historischer Kunstbunker before visiting this Church and you will start to admire this church. IMPORTANT NOTE: the front door is always close, you must get in on the right side door.

Amazing cathedral with Gothic style architecture. The building is clearly visible in this small town with few tall buildings. The twin towers looked massive from a distance, and even more imposing up close. Inside is richly decorated. There are many religious artifacts, paintings, sculptures, and relics. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. There are also many street vendors selling great foods outside. This entire area is very pedestrian friendly.

This church has so many fantastic details! Easily one of our favorite churches. There were so many incredible statues, paintings, and carvings. You genuinely have to see it for yourself, photos simply don't do it justice. You can walk around the entire exterior of the prayer area and if you blink you may miss something! Definitely stop here, you won't be disappointed

Very large with a high ceiling. Here you can specifically see how kings where different from serfs. How they built structures. And how they differ to now. It's a great experience to be in a place that's older than the whole united states twice over.

Very near to the Nürnberg hbf probably takes less than a couple of minutes. This has to be a must go place if you’re in Nürnberg.

Another one of Nürnberg's beautiful cathedrals! There is no limit to the beauty of this city, it's food and culture and this church is no exception to it's Architecture despite being a evangelical church in Catholic country. This gothic cathedral in fact is probably the most prominent Lutheran church in Bavaria, and this is also likely why it was fixed so quickly after the major damages it received after WWII. This historical church began construction in 1250 and took 227 years to build not completely finished until 1477.
