Quite a big airport, well maintained, clear signs. If you are non-EU citizen that has to go through passport control prior to connecting flights, plan for 2 to 3 hrs as the queues are long and the process is slow . Tax Refund counter outside secure area only accepts check-in baggage. If your items are in carry-on then complete the process after passport control. Recommend the check-in baggage route, just be ready to physically show them the unused items for export. The pandemic may have affected the efficiency of functions, review dated 31 July 2022.

By far one of the best airport experiences. Really easy to get around, everything is clear, helpful staff, clean and organized. Toilets are well maintained as well, plenty of comfortable resting areas, things are not too expensive either. An example to be followed.

Very clean and well organized airport! Very large. Huge, in fact! At least they have the convenient train tram to get you from one terminal to the next...😁 While waiting for your flight to board, they offer these neat little pods that provide individual comfort including a little table that is attached and a charging station. Just passing through this time, but next time gonna check out this city that is full of history as well as modern touches...😉

Avoid itat most any cost!!!! Too spread out, long hallway Too much security = double screenings, body & baggage checks even on connecting flights passengers. Have yet to be on flight that boarded/ deplaned via tunnel rather than stairs & busses

Massive airport with many shops, cafes and bars serving traditional German food. A water bottle cost €3,30 from the vending machine, which is a bit pricey, however, there are water filling stations to fill up your water bottle. We’ve tried some pea soup and frankfurter sausages for an early brunch, the food was good. Overall, good airport organisation and service, clean bathrooms and many recycling bins around.

It's small and old. You need to pay €1 to take/rent the luggage trolley. However, not coins, it accepts cards only. All my VISA cards can not go through . Security check is rigorous. They opened up my luggage to check all my camera lens one by one. For none EU passport holders, it may take quite long to check in at arrival or departure customs. Buffer yourself enough time before you enter. Many souvenirs shop at the airport, you can buy some for your friends at the last minute. Sign boards are very clear and easy to understand. We have no problem finding what we want.

Frankfurt Airport deserves an enthusiastic 5-star rating! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by its efficiency and cleanliness. The staff were courteous and helpful, making my travel experience seamless. The vast selection of shops and dining options catered to all tastes, ensuring I never had a dull moment during layovers. The airport's state-of-the-art facilities, including comfortable lounges and charging stations, made waiting a pleasure. The transportation connections were excellent, allowing easy access to the city center. Overall, Frankfurt Airport sets the standard for an exceptional travel hub with its top-notch amenities and stellar service.

OK. Expected higher level of customers service, but had to ask multiple times to find my way around the terminal. The train between terminals was fast. Neat and clean.

The best equipment for security check and the longest time loosing waiting for the baggage’s. They should put more workers to deal with the baggage. No rush hour! The airport was empty. And for no reason the delivery stopped!. A lost my train! It took 1 hour to get the baggage!

Airport condition has been deteriorating over the years, its crazy busy mostly but facilities are now quite run down. Needs major renovations beyond behind listed fancy pics. Security are exceptionally tight, they won't allow drinks from connecting flights

Wow, this is big. Traveler flow analysis could improve upon speed of getting to your gate: bus, train, walking runways etc. Otherwise it has been clean, quiet and full of friendly personnel. And one of the most thorough security checks I have had to go through.

Have been here countless times. Nice airport, although it sometimes seems like they are having a hard time catching up with the necessary renovations. There are brand new and quite old parts which definitely need some reworking. Also gates seems somewhat narrow and way to long (see video). On domestic flights you walk forever to get to your boarding gate. Nevertheless an overall pleasant experience, particularly if you happen to be eligible for one of the lounges. Have a safe trip!!

Staff is helpful except for the people checking documents for transiting/landing in the city. The airport is huge and has railways connectivity between two buildings. Transit area has many services and shops to spend time.

Great airport experience. They have a gaming lounge opposite gate A52. Near the same location, there is also a Camel smoking lounge. Overall clean and well signposted. You even see some people cycling on the small blue bikes. There are also lots of seating available near the gates. As well as device charging and high seat area for working. It's a proper big airport.

This is a good airport in Europe. It’s above average in my opinion due to the facilities they provide. Many options for shops and restaurants. Many services available such as muslim prayer room - there are four, two at each terminals 1 and 2, relaxing area, game room, smoking space, coffee machines, shower facility and such. So this is a good airport in general, probably need to maintain these services or probably upgrade in the future since this airport is known for long transit time.

Größter Flughafen Deutschlands. Vereinzelt gibt es tatsächlich kostenlose Wasserspender. Genau auf die Wegweiser achten. Das Gelände ist sehr groß. Seelsorgerisch wird man breit betreut (Christentum, Judentum, Moslem ...).

Sehr gepflegter Flughafen.

One of the largest airports in Europe. Unfortunately the security is so slow and even with 2-3 hour layovers you can easily miss your connecting flight. I would recommend at least 4 hours for international flight connections. Be prepared to go through customs and security multiple times before connecting. Also one thing that needs to be mentioned is, even if you are at the gate, you are really not at your gate to board. Most likely you’ll take a 15-30 min bus ride to your plane middle of nowhere. I wish they streamline the connecting flight process. Also get rid of buses.

I have been here many times, good airport, many different flights to almost anywhere, wide choice of airlines. Terminals are very large and sometimes require a long walk to your gate, so prepare for that. Terminals have a wide selection of food available, but prices are a little high sometimes, a canned beer was 4.25 Euro. There are sit-down restaurants in the Terminals but there is usually a wait to get a table, prices are normal for airport food, typically 20 Euro per person. There is a lot of seating available and power ports to charge up you devices.

15 June we have checked in for a long haul flight and unfortunately the German immigration staff had some sort of strike action. At one point I believe only one officer was processing people, quite later additional staff added. Time to clear immigration close to two hours. European passport holders were processed at another gate without delay, only foreigners seem to have been treated this way. NOT IMPRESSED

When you go to the airport, any airport, you are full of stress for everything to go right. But when I visit this airport, somehow everything goes smoothly. I heard bad stories from bad/rude people. Well , I haven't see any one them, yet. Every time I sk staff about flights etc , They assist me without hesitation.

Huge airport with great army of staff. Great selections of shops and bars only small thing which I don't like it is there is just few ordinary shops in transit so if you have to spend there few hours there in nothing much to do or to spent the money. In general great Airport.

Well maintain airport with lots of eatery around. Immigration clearance is fast but not many choices of items to purchase. Was transiting for 4 hours but can't really find a good place to shop. The queue to enter the plane was quite messy too.

Huge and organized airport, the signs are clear on how to move from one terminal to other however don’t take your transit time in vain, immediately you land, start looking for ur next terminal like I said it’s huge , lots of walking. The staff are very patient with giving directions , toilets clean and well maintained and found at very corner. Trains and bus stations available for connecting trips and into the city.

Large get-away to the rest of the world. I come once in a while and I love this airport. Beautiful design and structure, gates and its concourses (A, B,..., Z). The B- concourse offers some beautiful light paths, and the A/Z areas host the large planes (C&B too). Large airport with 4 runways. Transfer time in Frankfurt should be at least 1-1.5hrs.

The airport is well maintained, clear signs and it's easy to get around. Toilets are around every corner and it's clean as well. There are small joints and cafes to grab a bite. In the waiting area there are comfortable desks to sit and work and charge your device. In the peak season do come 2-3 hours early if you're not an EU citizen as it might take time due to the long lines.

A very well connected airport with plenty of services, shops and food options available. However, when arriving into gate B24 it was very hard to know where to go as no airport staff were on hand and the aircraft had already started boarding the return flight to Heathrow. It is a very confusing airport I must admit. That being said, FRA is a nice airport with plenty to do. It also has an outstanding public transport network with plenty of trains and buses. For aviation enthusiasts I can definitely recommend the XXL Tour which is a once in a lifetime experience taking you round the entire airport for a reasonable price. The tour is only in German, but the views are stunning and well worth your time.

I was on a fly-through from Toronto to Helsinki with this as a layover. I had four hours of waiting. It was initially difficult to find out where my next flight was going to be arriving at - the screens might not have even shown Helsinki on there - but after connecting to free wifi, I found my way to the free shuttle, which arrives every couple minutes to take us on a short ride. Seeing all the inner machinations of the airport made me think of the grace and beauty of Indian art combined with the steely efficiency of an advanced automaton army. That isn't to perpetuate a stereotype or anything; it just was the most amazing looking airport. It was clean, it had the right amount of shine, the early morning arrival and the chilled yet cozy interior reminded me of how much I love life. I may never visit Frankfurt proper, but this airport is just the best one I have ever visited. Forget the kids crying and kicking my seat about the crew pausing their Paw Patrol the sleepless night before, it was a brand new day. Anyway, enough fawning over an airport. I had to go to gate A to meet the Helsinki flight, and because it is a Schengen country, there was border security. It was a long line, but they had plenty of officers who did their job thoroughly and concisely, yet within good time. I barely had a chance to put my bag down from exhaustion before the line moved and I had to move forward. I still had two hours for my flight, so I took a deserved nap.

A big hub airport, which surprisingly has basic services, I loved the quite room, and the Nespresso stations around the airport which costs only 2€. For a long layover it might be boring, no big shopping area nor international restaurants. Also I couldn’t find a place to pray.

Wow it’s a big airport and it’s the biggest of Germany that was ever build. Basically the airport has 4 runways which means a lot. So you can see the airport when you for example drive with the car on the A3. So that’s how I often make it. But if you want to see the inside, you shouldn’t drive on the A3.

Terminal 2 is not designed, neither has the staff necessary for the amount of passengers. Really hot, no AC. Most chaotic I’ve ever been to. Besides being a chaos, there’s is zero staff trying to improve things.-

One of the best airports to pass by as a layover destination. Really easy to get around, clean, organized, and extremely helpful staff, mostly when with kids. Many different shops and restaurants. There are several Camel smoking lounges, private and closed areas in different terminals, always accessible. One of our favorite areas is the themed children play areas for kids. My daughter loves this feature and it definitely helps out easing the traveling experience on us parents. They can climb on helicopters, explore the ocean, or play the roles of pirates. These areas are available at Terminal 1 levels 2/3 and Terminal 2 levels 2/3/4.

One of the largest airports in Europe and in the first 15 in the world. Terminal 3 in under construction and should be opened in 2025. I’m very impressed how the work is organized. I have been there many times and never had an issue with delay on check-in. Also flights delays were very seldom. German good working mechanism

Gorgeous airport, which is huge but they have lots of good signs and a train to take you around. I even saw a smoking room. You have a priority pass lounge near which is absolutely amazing with local beer and pretzels and the works! They had beautiful cars inside as well as very spacious terminals, at least at about 6 AM when I went there! They had free Wi-Fi for everyone which was very fast. God is good! Peace, Joshua

We all are the passengers came the gate 58 and waiting fot the boarding., but unfortunately Lufthansa flight staff boarding assist staff announced all passengers to go out and come back the boarding. Without arrangement they're unnecessary waste of all passengers time and also 40 mins time delay the flight . The Lufthansa flight boarding staff answers are very rude and they're not properly answers to passengers. Gate number change purpose they are send out all passengers out and Again they're check in document verification second time. They're not properly arrange the boarding this flight LH 758 and this crew.

The interior smoking lounge was fantastic. So were the cool automatic washroom doors & those nifty sleeping chairs found all over the airport. When it comes to the pilots themselves... what an excellent handle on the aircraft! Steep and confident takeoffs and landings of which calibre I have never seen before. And all the beer & sandwiches you could ever eat!

One of the best airport in Europe. It is one of the most important air hub. Its being catered by almost all big International Airlines. It has three terminals and one terminal dedicated to Lufthansa. Quite a number of Lounges are available in the terminals. For Trans Atlantic connections it is one of the most preferred airport.

Huge airport with Terminal 1 and 2. They provide shuttle buses very frequently between the 2 terminals which is a good service. The Luggage Check-in was smooth. Immigration officers were quick in their duties. People are quite and shown humble behaviour. After that once we enter the Duty Free shops, we can buy the chocolates, scents, make-up articles, snacks, toys for kids, souvenirs, electronics, medicines, Coffee and Bakery Bar, KFC, McDonald's, Burger King, Ice Creams shops, Liquors (whiskey, rum, brandy, gin, vodka, wines, tequila, organic alcohols, etc.). After that the airport is neat and spacious. They provide Seats but not enough for all the passengers to sit and wait before the boarding. Also the USB ports were not working in the sockets provided.

This airport is nice! It's big and super easy to get around. I really love that they have showers for travelers who are in a hurry. It's such a convenient feature to have when you're on a tight schedule. I believe we paid 6 euros..

We took a transferred flight to Frankfurt from Stockholm Airport on 21st May 2023. We had no problem getting to our final gate for departure after getting clear guidance from the information counter, and there are clear signage. There are game stations in the airport. The airport is spacious, and it has made our transit easier and more enjoyable.

If you have a connecting flight, I suggest you give yourself plenty of time between flights if you want your luggage to follow... This is one airport you want to be wearing running shoes on short connections and be prepared that your luggage(s) doesn't make it on the connecting flight. Other than that, it's a nice airport with plenty of shopping and restaurants to enjoy.

It's a big airport, known for its connectivity.. there are many terminals so you need to take shuttle buses, but be careful if there is a short time for connecting flights...one advantage in this airport compared to other airports is no need to go to the security check again which is a really good thing Frankfurt airport...well it nice n bit crowded n well maintained Airport...

Well maintained airport. It’s clean and large. The signs can be seen clearly. Many facilities provided. You can easily take the train to the city. However, the immigration counters open only 2-3 counters even though there are a lot of passengers waiting which cause much delay. The staff there aren’t helpful at all. People also smoke everywhere and sometimes you can smell the cigarettes even though you are inside the building.

Quite a big airport. Easy connection between terminal 1 and 2 via air train. Plenty of restaurant and other facilities. Quite busy airport. Easy to navigate but you might struggle to find staff to ask questions. If you go from T1 to T2 you will need app 30 mins because of passport control. In general one of the good airport. Ni drama here.

None of the escalators worked, we have to go up abd down, taking one bus after another. I could have expected it from one tiny country but never from the beautiful and modern Germany. All restrooms were in pristine conditions the stores were fine but getting something from the duty-free area means breaking your savings account. Super expensive. Anyhow, it won't take away the admiration and love I have for this beautiful country and its citizens ❤️.

Excellent variety of shops and restaurants, lots ro see and very clean. A big plus is the space and the fact that it is not so crowded compared to other European hubs su h as Amsterdam. I missed a flight and had to wait for over 5 hours, and even then the "stay" was not that heavy.

I used to love Frankfurt Airport when I was a kid. It was one of the cleanest and people were friendly. But recently this whole place isn’t “German” anymore. The whole place is dirty, shops were closed and we were not greeted or respected like used to. I’d do my best to avoid Frankfurt airport.

  • 5/5 Jonah J. 2 years ago on Google
Frankfurt airport is one of the busiest airports that I’ve ever been. It takes good 15min to walk to Terminal 1 from the S-Bahn Flughafen station, so please make sure you plan your travel accordingly. There are quite a few counters available for last minute tickets if you’re the one that likes adventure. I have not seen such counters in other airports.

A real hub for some efficient European airlines. You can feel the stoicism in the design of the terminal. Functional, stylish, but avoiding luxury. A nordic design taste is clearly visible. Loved their newly added sleeping long chairs.
