Awesome place to visit! You can also bring your dog (leashed) which is a big plus!

Impressive exhibition of how people used to build in the past. They show how they curve iron, carv bricks, shake wood and much more. The kids were fascinated. Friendly staff answer questions and stir up the kids curiosity. Recommended.

Great area to see and learn more about medieval living in germany. People over there are interested to communicate and explain their activities. A place to stay 2-3 hours, but from my point of view, 3-5 stations more would be great!

Very interesting and beautiful site. The construction (or atm still the preparations for the infrastructure of the construction site) is located in the forest near Messkirch and therefore shady and green. You stroll about the small paths and discover small cabins and people who are producing the materials for the construction of the monastery, a smith, a weaver, a pottery ... There are also animals around the site. However, you are allowed to bring your dog on a leash. The paths are easy to walk and suitable for wheelchairs. There are many toilets located at different parts of the site. At the marketplace, you can buy food or eat what you have prepared for yourself. It is a great place to bring children unless you didn't educate them well. It is still a construction site, not a playground. Thus, there are rules.

Visited in August 2020 during the covid 19 pandemic: Very interesting. Workers are very friendly and explain there doing with patience. Recommended for families with kids older than 3 years.
