We are from Iowa on military orders and always like to stop here to eat. Such amazing food and staff. Way to go on fast, friendly, and food preparation. I would have done 5 stars but it could use a little cleaning and garage's where over flowing.

This was the worst bbq I've ever had. I ordered the bbq brisket sandwich. The pic on the menu shows sliced brisket and I received what I guess was chopped, it looked more like pulled pork. The meat was dry, there was no fat, no bbq sauce and the bun was oddly soft on the inside and hard around the edges. City BBQ had been recommended to me when I was in Indianapolis but unfortunately I didn't get to try it then so when I got the opportunity I thought why not. I don't recommend this particular location and the next time I'm in Indianapolis I'm gonna try the one there to see if there's a difference.

We had a long day at the James Cancer Center for my testing and treatment , so I was unable to eat all day. when I left the James on Google Maps and it brought me to the city barbecue here. I will tell you what, this has to be one of the best places that I have ever eaten for the quality of the food for the amount of the food you get the atmosphere and the Comfort Within. you're going to average $20 per person but you will be well satisfied $20. that Neil in the picture there cost $24.

I ordered a brisket sandwich with greens and Mac & cheese. The brisket was moist & delicious, with just a few dry bits. The sides are acceptable but I always add a dash of garlic, pepper and paprika. Not bad meal for $15-20 dollars.

The cashier Barry was fun and funny. The way they do their orders is a clustf%ck and makes it easy for people to be skipped. We watched the young lady do the orders and one by one people left before us. She just finished the bags that she claimed were ours and said she called my husband's name three times. Nope! We got here shortly before 2PM and there was one pack of "fresh baked" cookies on the tray. I asked if they had any that were fresh. The gentleman reminded me that they were baked daily. This may be true but these cookies are not from today. Gave four stars because I'm sure the food will be good but the experience itself could've been better. ****Update**** if this Mac was cooked any less it would be crunchy 😞 2 stars

I was driving by and didn't expect much from a BBQ joint in the city, but I had a perfect half rack of ribs and some really good collards. The ribs were tender but not too tender. Moist, but they just didn't fall apart to the touch. You can easily clean the bone off if you know what I'm saying. Good flavor throughout the meat too. I am definitely going back the next time I'm in Columbus.

It was just okay. The ribs were cut in strange diagonals and had weird nibs all through them. I was not a huge fan of the Nashville seasoning just being a powder or salt sprinkled on top of the chicken tenders. I expected them to be tossed in the rub. The nashville hot sandwich was good. Overall for 50 dollars we were expected a little more.

You definitely want to at least try the brisket umm umm delicious 😋 I do like the corn bread very good worth a try . I don't think you will be disappointed by anything on the menu

A reliable stop for flavorful food. Service is generally quick, the meals are aromatic and nicely presented. The seasonings are rich and savory. For a good introduction, chicken shawarma sandwich and hummus with vegetables.

The place was hot as heck! No air, and the staff was sweating. That means touching your face and putting on gloves without hand washing! Young staff, but kind! I finally found an establishment that had good ribs, so that was a plus!😊 The brisket was good, but a lil cold . Young man replaced it promptly and was very kind about it! Turkey is good .. better tasting cold after being refrigerated. The fries were delicious and also I love their horseradish sauce! When I asked for it to be cold the young lady looked at me surprised and said... It's supposed to be cold. I told her other places have it sitting out.. she exclaimed.. ' that's why we're the best!'😆😆. And the lemonade and sweet tea ( Arnold Palmer) was delicious! I had to buy a gallon!! Yum 😋. I'll drive there again, as I live about 30 minutes away... Get the air fixed though!😊

Great place to get dinner! My husband had the sausage and the brisket. He loved the sausage and said it was the best he’s ever had. I had the 1/4 chicken and the turkey. The chicken was so delicious! It was so tender and juicy. For the sides, I recommend the hush puppies. They give you a lot (7-8) and they were so good! They had the classic sweet batter. The Mac and cheese wasn’t my favorite, but overall it was a great meal! We would definitely recommend this to anyone in Columbus.

Had an incident with an order because of a DoorDash driver, the manager handled quickly and completely to my satisfaction. Same type of service I’ve received in-store. The ribs were great as usual. Thank you City BBQ Gahanna!!!

We had City BBQ cater a birthday party for us. The food was fantastic, reasonably priced, and, these are the best buns I've ever had in my life that weren't made by my own mother. Sadly I do not remember her name, but the manager was there Friday when we ordered and Saturday when we picked up and was amazing helping us with getting everything just right.

Chris G was very helpful and patient with me as I figured out what I wanted. I will definitely be returning to this location, the staff is always friendly and it is always clean

Food was not hot at all. Once the orders are completed, the girls who bag a d put the food on trays do not move fast at all. When the food is done, they call your name out, but they call it so soft, you never hear it. So, the food you ordered will sit there until you get up and check on it. I would not recommend this location at all. The place was NOT busy, but, MAN ARE THEY SLOW AF.

Love this place. Always great food. A couple of favorites, more cowbell sandwich & half of chicken. Their side dishes are also very good. Great selection of sauces.

What happened to the servings you used to serve, for less money. It's been years since we've been here, and when we got our meats- we remembered why. The brisket was dry(everything else was good) but very slim on the serving size for the family platters. They used to be worth it. Now it's thin charred(great flavoring) brisket with no value of meat on the inside. We got one full slice of brisket. The take away containers of sides used to be full, now there is tons of space at the top.

Wonderful associates. I initially did a call in for pickup, but once I got there and saw plenty of seating I stayed. The service was awesome, I ordered more, everything was delicious. You have two outstanding workers, which makes it easier to decide to go back. But Phone person... Please practice on your customer service attitude. I brought with me two friends and we all were very satisfied Kudos

Never disappoints!! My go to for good BBQ! Tonight was pulled pork, mac n cheese and corn pudding! Fast, friendly service! Took the order to go and snacked on the drive home, so no time for pictures! Lol Plus I forgot to ask for pickles!! :( Miss not having a location close to home!

Good here used to be perfect, these days just okay. I personally would avoid the fries at this location, they are always under cooked and soggy. Other locations don't have that problem for some reason.

Went on a super hot day. Was hoping to walk into ac but no it wasn't working. It was so hot in there. If you never been before ordering is a little confusing. Everything is pretty much alacart. I order a $10 sandwich and they ask what kind of side I wanted. I said fries not knowing I would have to pay separately for them and my drink. $10 sandwich though it would come with a side. Anyway that didn't bother me to much I was just upset that I was asked what side when 1 didn't come with. Brisket sandwich was awesome. Fries were hot but looked like they were cooked I'm old oil. Pop was weak. Like not enough syrup.
