Got here @ 1100am, pretty empty. Table needed cleaned. We started with half orders of the chips and onion straws. The chips I really liked, the straws not so much. Very thin, oily, just not a lot of onion flavor. I had the house salad with a change of creamy blue cheese dressing, not the house and the soup of the day chicken poblano. The soup was okay, felt needed more kick, but the salad was very good. Hubby had the ribs with fries. Fries were fresh, hot and thick cut. He felt the ribs, though tender, would not stand on their own without the sauce. Service was good. I personally enjoyed the music, mostly 70s & 80s easy listening. I would probably rate 3.5 if available.

I had an amazing time, the service was great and the food was astonishing. The lovely ladies Alisha & Rebecca that took care of me and my coworkers did an excellent job making sure that we were good at all times while at the same time making sure all the other customers were being taken care of. Definitely coming back next time I'm in the area.

This Hickory House location has been around for decades. My family has frequented here a handful of times over the years and I can't think of a time where the food was disappointing. The decor is timeless and the food is delicious.

Stopped by the Gahanna (Columbus airport) area for a Monday weeknight dinner. After waiting be seated by the hostess who was also running takeout orders from the kitchen, we were greeted by our waitress. Drinks and warm bread came out and were likely the highlight of the meal. While the food was acceptable, we didn’t believe anything we ordered was extraordinary—and multiple menu items are overpriced for what you get. With that said, the pork chops I ordered were tender and well prepared & my wife had no complaints about her soup and salad. Waitress was average—neither exceptionally attentive nor negligent…but, at one point I did ask about a beer on draft and she never came back with an answer. Oh well. My water was fine, as she was attending to a group of Japanese businessmen instead. They went with the $40-50 steak dinners, so… This was a convenient location for dinner, so that’s why we stopped again (yes, we’ve visited before). Next time in the area, however, we’re opting to go elsewhere.

As a HUGE smoked meats enthusiast and small business owner that takes the craft serious, I was exceptionally impressed with Hickory House ribs. The waitress had been with the company for 26 years and was not only super attentive, she was also quite funny and helpful. It makes sense why they have been able to keep the business rolling for 40 years and in the family. I will be making multiple trips back here to try other items, I came for the Ribs lunch special and I was pleased with: the quality of meat, the quantity received, the french fries quality and quantity, the coleslaw, and the service.

Well, if I had to choose between this one and the one in Reynoldsburg, I'm going with Reynoldsburg. Everything, from the hostess to the taste of the food is worth two, less stars. The full order of onion straws here, matched Reynoldsburg's half order quantity. While still as delicious we were just expecting much more. I ordered the same meal as to compare. With the exception of the salad dressing. This time choosing the house dressing. I found the house dressing to be bland. I wish I would have stuck with the blue cheese. Somehow, my steak ended up on my friends plate. Easily fixed and then it was just right. I like a nice medium rare steak! She likes hers medium well, so you can imagine my initial disappointment when slicing into that. I found the ribs here to also be dry and not as flavorful. I do love the Hickory house but my recommendation is to eat at the one in Reynoldsburg, obviously.

Ordered pickup. Salad was missing but didn’t notice until arriving home. No biggie. It was $7.50 and half of my kids’ dinner, so I went back for it. Again, didn’t look at it there. Got home to find the attached picture. For $7.50. This salad. For $7.50. And I drove back to get it. Ugh.

Overall, the experience was very positive. The food that my wife and I ordered was very good. The service was less than ideal. The waitstaff seemed distracted. We tried to place a bar order, and our server disappeared. Finally, we went to the empty bar, and we were ignored by the bartender. The manager walked into the room, and suddenly, we weren't invisible any longer. The food definitely was the highlight of our visit.

The food was ok. It's the small things, the drinking glasses are still super small - all ice. Felt bad needing refills. Lol, and those who know, know fountain sweet tea isn't sweet tea.

Oh no no don't do it this place is now one of those places you can say used to be a really good place to eat at and definitely a good place to take a date. We arrived at 8:30 and the restaurant was getting ready for closing which is at 10 and I must say the server definitely let us know that. The minute he came to our table he made sure we knew he was ready to go home. The restaurant was not clean and the lighting tells the story dim enough you felt like bed time. Any server that blames the cook but still brings terrible food to the table is just as guilty, no salad as early as 8:30 by the way. NEVER GOING BACK, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ITS NOT WHAT IT USE TO BE.

The hotel clerk suggested I walk across the street. I’m glad I did! The pork chops were so tender and juicy. Loved them. Salad and baked potato were good also. The Yuengling was cold! Great food!

While in Columbus we were looking for a place close to the airport for dinner. We decided on Hickory House. The atmosphere was dark and maybe slightly aged. The waitstaff was very friendly and hustled the entire time we were there. We ordered sides of macaroni and cheese, bbq pulled pork sandwich, and a Meatloaf meal. The pulled pork was sweet and too saucy, couldn't even taste the pork. This was in my opinion definitely not made in House. Not a fan of the pulled pork. The Meatloaf meal was pretty good. Bbq added a different spin on Meatloaf. The garlic mashed potatoes were pretty good also. They are lumpy (as they should be). Green beans were slightly overcooked. The macaroni and cheese was quite tasty. The black pepper really added a depth dimension to an otherwise simple dish. CBC IPA was very good draft beer of the local option. This restaurant wasn't bad, wasn't mind blowing either. The employees really hustle and are friendly.

Lisa was an amazing server, we're vacationing here in Ohio and we were recommended this place by the hotel we're in and it's absolutely amazing! Both price wise and service wise, the food was delicious too one of the best sirloins and set of ribs we've had in a while. Would recommended immensely!

I decided to go out for a steak dinner and this is where I landed. My steak was cooked to perfection. It atmosphere was amazing, everyone loved as friendly and I never needed for anything while I was there. I will most definitely be back here again.

Great food, friendly staff, and excellent service. (Sat at the bar) Had the ribs & filet. Steak was perfect. Ribs were just okay, but I don't like ribs that are boiled and finished on the grill. They did have great flavor if that's your thing. Definitely will be back.

Been meaning to check these guys out for a while and decided today was it. Of course you have to try the Onion Straws. They were nicely seasoned and crispy, served with a warm barbecue sauce. Very tasty, probably would have been better off ordering a full order of these and just snacked on them. But ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich and comes with fries and a pickle. The pulled pork was very fatty and had very little texture and then soaked in a sauce that had very little flavor to it. To me they would have been better off pouring the sauce for the Onion Strings over the pork. The fries were homemade and lightly fried. Delicious!!!The Ice Tea was nicely made, not the overly harsh flavor that some places have. Fresh lemons come with each glass. My waitress was Ashley and she was nice enough and checked on me a sufficient number of times. Doubt that I will return.
