Amazing service, attentive and friendly staff made the visit that much better! The restaurant was cozy and well decorated for the holidays. The food was good, the spicy feta was excellent and the pitas were fresh and delicious, the saganaki was actually fried rather than melted on skilled which is how it is usually done, but it was still good. For mains, we had the beet salad and the classic gyro pita, which comes with fries. Everything was really well made and tasty. We will definitely come back again! I highly recommend the Gyro pita.

We were surprised how much we enjoyed a last minute dinner at the bar at Vasili's! We hadn't made reservations and they had no available tables inside on a Tuesday night in January! So we sat at the relatively small bar area. The light above the bar was a bit bright, but it didn't affect the ambience. The bartender was good explaining wines, bourbons, and the menu. Lucky us, they have half priced wine bottles on Tuesday nights, so we indulged in a Cab from Napa ;-) Overall, the food was superb and the service was friendly, yet not over-bearing. We'll be back! And I came back - enjoyed a dinner in their pleasant outdoor seating environment!

I wanted to love this place but the food was a let down and the seating was weird. Let me break it down. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Don't get me wrong the place is gorgeous, the staff is great but the food is seriously underwhelming. I entered this establishment right after they opened for happy hour and there was only one tabled seated at the time with around 40ish maybe more tables available. Well there is an outdoor seating area with a wall & windows in-between, for some reason the host decided to seat the only other party right on the other side of the window 6 inches from us, which was just weird since the place was empty. If it was busy, that's fine and totally makes sense, but the place was empty. Anyway we decided to try a bunch of small plates and wow was I highly disappointed in the quality and taste of the food. In all I liked one and a half of the dishes. We tried the hummus, truffle feta fries, aranchini, Greek olives, bifteki sliders and meat poikilia. The only things that were good were the hummus, and partially the fries & olives. The hummus was the only saving grace of the meal, it was delicious, flavorful, and with the crispy chick peas on top it was great, the pita bread under average with a crispy bottom but completely tough texture. The truffle fries were hot, shoe string and crisp which was great but completely lacked salt. The white truffle flavor was more of a smell and not a taste. The olives were seasoned nicely and delicious. Now for the biggest disappointments was the aranchini, the texture and tastes were way off! The exterior layer was terrible and stuck to your teeth while the inside was lacking all flavor and the goat cheese was randomly placed inside. On top of that they place them in a sauce which was spicy and immediately made them not crisp anymore. Just terrible overall. The next meh dish was the bifteki sliders, it was basically a meatball placed in a bun twice it's size. The crispy onions tasted horribly and the bread was overly toasted and was hard. The ratio was way off on this. The beef & lamb ball inside, was itself good but the rest totally missed the mark. As for the meat poikilia that came with a single meatball, 1/3 of a Greek sausage, gyro meat & chicken, it was not great. The meatball tasted weird and sauce were not flavorful at all and they served it room temperature. The Greek sausage was beyond bland and I couldn't even eat the tiny piece I was given. The chicken was white meat and over cooked so it was chewy and lacked flavor. The gyro meat was the only saving grace as it actually had flavor and was warm. Overall the only time I would come back is it get a drink and maybe a gyro. This place has potential but they food is seriously lacking especially with those high prices! In addition the waitress started putting her hand all over the table and removing dishes when we weren't even finished packing up our food which was very uncomfortable. I have always stacked the dishes to be removed at the end. The overall look of the place is beautiful but the music is too loud and when that happens people talk louder, so this place is overly noisy and loud. They also keep open flames on each table, so you might but yourself? I don't recommend this place if you have hearing difficulties or can not see in low light settings. Realistically this place could be amazing but the food is lacking drastically and there are just small improvements that could be made to make this place great.

We were 8 people and Yianni our server did a fantastic job specially when restaurant was fully packed. We celebrated 3 birthdays with one cake and Yianni did his best to give us the best experience. Heated and cooled outdoor tables. Nice place. Food was great, chef and kitchen staff nailed it. Highly recommended.

This place is outstanding! The food was amazing. The spicy feta appetizer was perfectly balanced, creamy, a tad spicy but not overwhelmingly spicy. The moussaka was the most perfect I’ve had outside of Greece, seriously. The cocktails were perfectly crafted. Zero complaints. I have been here for happy hour a while back, and had dinner here last evening. Do yourself a favor, visit, dine, and be merry! You’ll love it!

It was a beautiful day so I decided to set up a little surprise dinner date night with my wife. I made the reservation online for patio seating. Making reservations online was a breeze. But I had no idea that Thursdays was ladies night. So the patio was packed with large tables of women. So we ended up waiting well past our actual reservation time. Patio seating this evening was terrible. It was SO loud and people screaming and high pitch laughing was echoing in our ears. Unfortunately, our only other option was indoor dining and we just aren't ready for that. So we pretty much ate our entire meal looking at our cell phones because it was too loud for us to talk. We were ultimately screaming at each other and it was just too much. But definitely looking forward to being able to dine in - because their dining room looks super chic and comfy! Table service was excellent. Our poor server was screaming at us so we could hear her. But she was super nice and patient! We ordered... Spicy Fried Calamari Grilled Octopus Marinated Beet Salad with Salmon Greek Salad with Salmon The grilled octopus was good. But not the best we've had. The calamari was ON POINT. Lightly breaded and flavorful! The beet salad was excellent. The Greek yogurt that comes on it is amazing! Greek salad is standard. The salmon was perfect! The skin was perfectly crispy and seared. Delicious! Prices are on the higher end. But food is worth it.

Wow! Just wow! First time ordering, ordered carry out. The food is absolutely amazing and delicious. I had to call the resturant and I spoke with Angelo, to express how impressed I was. I can’t wait to actually dine in the resturant next week. It’s so nice to have such great quality food and ingredients. Bravo!!! 5 stars forever!

I popped in for a unexpected late lunch and was taken back by the elegant restaurant design. Absolutely Beautiful and an extra pleasant ambiance. My waitress was attentive but since it was so close to dinner I only ordered the eggplant spread appetizer with fresh pita triangles and sliced cucumbers; I loved the walnuts & feta cheese sprinkled on top. I also had the marinated beet salad with three decorative Greek yogurt mounds and a lovely sprinkling of pumpkin & black poppy seeds as well some other nut & seed mix. The food & drink menu are extensive and this place is certainly an above average restaurant. Worth the trip to Gaithersburg!

Our first time at the restaurant and everything was great. We ordered some appetizers from the happy hour menu which is half the price and all of them was good. The service and ambiance was excellent. I definitely recommend this place.

Vegan review: My Server: Monique Was very helpful in asking the kitchen which dishes were veganizable. Someone I was dinning with never got the drink they ordered and it was in the recipe so just double check yours. Appetizers: ⭐⭐⭐⭐The hummus, the eggplant⭐⭐⭐, and cauliflower⭐⭐⭐⭐ are vegan when you hold the cheese and or yogurt. Salads: All can be made vegan if you hold the cheese and make sure the dressing has no honey Mains: The falafel is sadly not vegan ⭐⭐⭐The mushroom pasta can be made vegan if you hold the cheese. Sides: ⭐⭐⭐⭐Fries if you don't care about sharing a fryer with non vegan things.

Do you need an excellent cocktail after a long day? Vasilis is just a place. Try Mediterranean cosmopolitan, and you are all set. It's hard to find such a quality and finesse in the suburbs. You will find excellent food as well. Try octopus or spicy feta dip. Can't go wrong with beet salad, steak, or mushrooms flat bread. Can't go wrong with anything. We are only waiting for Vasilis to make their own bread again. Vasilis is definitely a gem. Always exceptional food and drinks. I also think the secret of Vasilis to their success is the excellent team of people who work there! Wonderful time guaranteed!

We dined at Vasili's Kitchen to celebrate our daughter-in-law's birthday, and it did not disappoint. Everyone was very friendly and attentive, service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The portions were generous. I especially enjoyed the moussaka!

I went to Vasilis for the first time and came away impressed. The decor of the place was beautiful; service was excellent. Food was very good. For appetizers we had octopus, taramasalata, beet salad, calamari. All were excellent. Favs were calamari and taramasalata. Main course - braised beef with potatoes and carrots. Gave it a 4/5. Felt beef was a little overcooked. Parmesan Potatoes were amazing. I did try my brother in-laws lamb chops with Greek lemon potatoes. That was a 5/5 but recommend ordering lamb medium rare to get most flavor. Overall excellent experience and would go back.

Food is excellent. Flavorful and appropriately portioned. Cocktails are crafted and taste great. Service is top notch, attentive, friendly, and accommodating. The manager and server adjusted to accommodate our seating needs on a busy Saturday evening. This involved the last-minute addition to our party that included need for wheelchair accessibility. They opened up the private dining area to make room. They went out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable and valued. We have a new favorite place, not only because of excellent food and service, but because the staff and management were kind, caring, and made everyone feel welcome and valued.

Upscale local haunt with a very nice atmosphere, an intimate dining room with extended outdoor space, and a very cool outdoor firepit/bar area. Staff are very friendly and prompt. Seating can be hit or miss without a reservation but there's usually spots at the bar. The food is very good, but definitely on the pricier side for small plate dining.

It was our first time dining at Vasili’s and we loved it. They had us with their scotch bonnet cocktail which was amazing. Even their free appetizer popcorn which was cooked with coconut oil was on point. We ordered the olives and beet salad but our favorite were definitely the lamb chops which were cooked to perfection. We sat at the bar and the staff were friendly and attentive.

We had a wonderful experience celebrating our anniversary at Visili's Kitchen. The food was delicious! We ordered: eggplant spread (starter) grilled branzino and slow braised beef (main course) baklava with pistachio ice cream and chocolate torte (dessert) The drinks were delightful, as well. We ordered the pear cocktail, red wine, and americano. Our server, Makayla, was professional and friendly. She gave detailed descriptions of the menu items. She was gracious, observant, and attentive. Staff - Everyone was professional, friendly, and attentive. They made the atmosphere feel welcoming. We look foward to dining there again.

Probably one of the best Greek food in town. It trully upraises the Greek cuisine and gives you a sense of uniqeness in every taste. Fun fact: we found out that the menu was made from one of Greece's top chefs Lucacos!

The best dish was the appetizer “grilled octopus “. So tender and delicious. The rest of the dishes were pretty normal. Our waitress was very nice.

The service was great. I ordered a virgin margarita and was slightly disappointed. The waiters respected my timing for food. The only issue mostly is the price. It is overpriced. I understand the aesthetics is nice, perhaps ingredients are top quality, regardless it is beyond more than what they should be. My dish was good but not great however, the smoky rotisserie chicken was torched perhaps and a strong smell was left behind. I had the dish before and this was not what I had in mind. The calamari was above average but the sauce can be worked on a bit more. Overall the experience was good but not great.
