Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya, is one of the three hospitals in Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. It is one of the leading community teaching hospitals in Sri Lanka, affiliated with the University of Peradeniya. In addition to delivering medical care to patients, it facilitates undergraduate training programmes for the university students studying in the faculties of Medicine, Dental Sciences and Allied Health Sciences. It was established in 1980. Location The hospital is situated aside the A1 highway connecting Kandy and Colombo, near the Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya. Administration It is established and administered under the purview of the Ministry of Health Care and Nutrition, Sri Lanka. The hospital has a bed strength of 960, as of 2009. It is the second largest hospital in Central Province, Sri Lanka, second only to the Teaching Hospital, Kandy.

The nurses who works at pregnancy wards are highly unprofessional. My wife got admitted to this hospital due to a complication during pregnancy and she ended up in depression due to harsh treatment by nursing staff. But there are very few who treat well but 80% of them are highly unprofessional. Next day I discharged her from the hospital and admitted to a private hospital and that was the last time we went to this hospital! Highly disappointed!

Even not worthy for one star. Ward 11 is worst place for mothers. Very anger security staffs. no proper care. Yes right, this is teaching hospital.

Doctors are good. The service is so far so good plus caring. But the security is way outta their way causing trouble around. The washrooms for the patients are not good enough. The staff has way better washrooms than the patients. Must consider about the hygiene of the patients living in (Admitted). Doctors and (some of the) nurses are kind and great. The security don't know how to treat a patient though.

The best hospital in Kandy. If you need medical attention, consultation or treatment this is the place to go. This is a teaching hospital and that mean the best qualified medical professionals and equipment are available here. Very reliable service. Many specialist doctors. Experienced staff. So you can get the best medical attention here. Most of the services are free as this is a government hospital but you may need to bring some medicine from out side or do few tests from outside.

Not a good communication between staffs and the patient... If we ask a question about the patient they will not respond correctly... Bad experience...

My experience at Teaching Hospital Peradeniya was disappointing. When I arrived, I encountered a security guard who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was unable to communicate properly. Additionally, when I entered the hospital, I was informed that it was closed at that time, despite it being during operating hours. Overall, my experience left a lot to be desired. On top of this, I found the nurses to be unhelpful and unprofessional, which added to my frustration.
