An average bar Pros : good lightning, friendly staff, spotless place, beer is cheap. Cons : tumbler glass given with beer, not even ice cold. Music lacks of personality. View on the busy street. I did not taste the food but I must say it looked tasty. The answer from the owner to the previous review just doesn't make me want to order. 1 star less. To the owner : If people doesn't like your bar, you don't need to be rude and have racist answer ("go spend your holidays in Europe" or something like that). I've been to many bars all over Sri Lanka, and this is just an average bar, no offense.

I love this place so much, everything I tasted so far was incredible, the drinks are very tasty. I like the atmosphere a lot, their music, their attentive selves. We were always treated nicely, the staff is so nice and friendly. Can't recommend this place enough.

Visited Surf Control on four occasions during our stay in Hikkaduwa. Lovely atmosphere with great music, not too loud or 'boom, boom' music. Lots of games available for a chilled evening. The staff are really welcoming and friendly. The Mojitos are the best I've had on our four week stay around SL. The food is really nice and service is good. We've eaten noodles but asked for extra chillies to spice it up. We've had red snapper, beautifully cooked and prawn and avocado salad. The only negative for both the above dishes was too much sauce for my palate so I did suggest that the sauces would be better served separately so the customer can add the amount they prefer. These comments were gratefully accepted by the staff. We would definitely return on our next visit.

Get the chicken curry!! The sauce is soo tasty, and you get way more chicken than any other chicken dish I’ve had in Sri Lanka. For 900 rupee you can’t go wrong… would happily and would have expected to 1500 for that meal 🤤

I am very disappointed in the service. We ordered and the waitress obviously didn't understand us. We got food for four people and after addressing the misunderstanding, we only got the answer: you can take it home. We didn't even touch a meal and the waitress came and just asked us why we didn't eat the food. No empathy, no apologies. Mistakes can happen, but reacting in this way is not ok. Of course we could pay for everything. I just don't understand why you don't ask about the amount of food when you obviously don't speak English. You have to realize that you misunderstood something, when you bring 2 people so much food. The food was ok not great except for the prawn curry. That was very good. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Be very clear about what you are ordering. After changing our mind and explicitly and clearly telling the waitress what we were ordering instead, as 2 people we were served enough food to easily feed 4. Unfortunately, we had to pay for all of it, even after trying to explain the misunderstanding. Now I understand that mistakes happen and not everyone is native in English, but the lack of empathy and not even one 'sorry' made this the most unpleasant experience in Sri Lanka so far. The prawn curry was good though 🙃
