I’ve eaten here so many times. Food is by far the best in town and the family here is so lovely. They’re always open for conversation. Ask for their curd too, they run the fruit shop by the road so you can mix your curd with fresh produce.

There is no menu. They just serve you their vegetarian rice & curry, which is absolutely delicious. You can get more of everything you like. It is a bit spicy but definitely not too spicy. You will also get some tea. If you want some rice & curry you should go here and give it a try. For me it is five stars.

Great place to eat traditional Sri Lankan food. Welcoming owner. Variety of vegetarian and vegan options. Located only a few steps from the beach. Very much recommended.

Authentic Sri Lankan curry in a family owned restaurant. They don't have a menu, you simply sit down and they bring out a beautiful selection of tasty vegetarian dishes. Great flavours, nice level of spice and a refreshing lime tea to finish. Very reasonably priced (LKR700 per person).

The place is a bit hard to find. It is tucked away inside a lane with little signage. The owner offers homemade, six different SriLankan curry with brown rice which is worth repeating. The portions are generous. We paid LKR 750 per person for set meal. Honey infused tea (a bit sweet for my taste) was offered for LKR 150 No beer or non vegetarian food here.

This place is awesome!! If your looking for the best value to try a bunch of delicious curries and sri lanka dishes for $800 RP total this is the place to go! Owners are so friendly and I really enjoyed coming here. Also the lemon tea they make is so delicious I would recommend more sure!

Found a nice book here for 500 rupees. We then booked a dinner because we had heard of good rice and curry. When specifically asking for the price, the owner mentioned 1.500 rupees per person. Dinner was cancelled the first night, but worked out fine the second. The vegetable curries were really tasty and of a pleasant variety. Unfortunately no coconut sambol. The reason I only give three stars is that water and a (delicious) tea are being served without asking and without mentioning that for example the tea costs 800 rupees! As there is also no menu, we assumed that these drinks are included in the fixed price of 1500. This ruined the familiar and low-key atmosphere because it made us feel ripped off.

Vegan friendly! Seriously the best food I ate in Hikkaduwa! 6 different curries, rice and spicy sambaal....lime tea to finish the meal off. So good

Lovely and beautiful little restaurant tucked away off the main road. Don’t miss out on this place. Family looked after us. Incredible 6/7 veggie curry brought out to us, great tea was organic and home made- is an extra cost though we didn’t realise but no stress, it goes to a beautiful family in need.

This is a fantastic spot run by the loveliest ladies. The food is really delicious and all vegan I believe? One of the only places doing authentic curry and rice on the strip. You just sit down and they bring you all the dishes they've cooked that day. Amazing and deserves to be super super busy!

Beautiful family run business. Wholesome and unbelievably tasty curries! This is one of those meals you think about and crave after going back home. I wish we hadn’t of discovered this place on the last day otherwise I would have been there everyday! 💜

Visited 4 years ago, but I still think about the food here. Tucked in an alley between the beach and the main road, you should probably use Google Maps to find it. We went a total of 3 times for dinner during our week-long stay here. Delicious, authentic, home cooked Sri Lankan cuisine. Highly recommended.

One of the best rice and curry I had in Sri Lanka. Especially the pumpkin, the mushrooms and the eggplants were delicious. The people are very friendly. They don’t sell beer.

probably the best rice and (vegetable) curry of our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka! there's no menu here, you eat what the cook comes up with on the day. our highlights were aubergine and pumpkin (but everything else was good too). the ginger tea at the end was simply sublime! the food comes in generous portions, and only costs 700 rps per head, and another 100 for the tea. we arrived soon after it opens (6:45pm), and we were seated despite not having a reservation. but pretty much everyone after us was turned away, so booking is recommended. a real find!

A hidden gem!! Amazing Sri Lankan food and lovely service. The owners are 3 moms who decided to serve their delicious homecooked food in this cozy place.. Authentic and mouth watering experience. A must visit if you are ever in that part of Sri Lanka!!!

Literally still sat at the table and it was incredible! The food came out quick and you could tell it had lots of attention and love! Four of us shared a variety of small veggie curries with the highlights being the slightly sweet aubergines and the curry pumpkin! So good and a must visit!
