Great place for dinner. Good mix of authentic and Western style dishes...we loved it so much we ate here 3 times. Prices are on the Western/high style but all things considered, very good value for the quality of food, presentation and service. We paid the same or more for restaurants along the beach and the food quality was poor at best. You will not be disappointed eating at Bedspace.

Some of the best food I had in Unawatuna. Went a couple of times. Nice place to relax also.

Low key, casual restaurant down an alley way with an open plan courtyard style seating. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. My husband had the beef burger and I had the chicken burger and we both loved them!! The chicken burger was tasty, juicy and super filling. Also came with a side of chips. Being our last night on our honeymoon, we also decided to indulge in the deconstructed banoffee creme brulee! Yum!! So delicious! Up there with one of the best meals I've had in Sri Lanka. I'd definitely recommend!! Visit date: October 2019

Food was amazing though we waited for ages to be seated and served. No one answered the phone all afternoon as we tried to call to make reservations. It was packed when we arrived and were told it would be a half an hour wait (turned out to be more like an hour). We had cocktails while waiting, but as it was raining, the rainwater dripped continuously on us as we sat under the awning (no other sheltered area was available). When we were finally seated, we were informed that almost half the menu was not available for mains. Could be better organised on the whole.

Such a good spot, friendly staff and a nice and cozy outdoor seating area. Chicken sticks, pork belly and chicken burger are highlights. Interesting cocktails too! Ceylon Sour and Garden Gin and Tonic were really tasty modifications of classics. Pricier for the area, but for the quality, it is worth it.

The restaurant itself is really lovely, it has a very nice ambience. Me and two friends went for dinner at around 7pm and when we got there we were told the wait would be half an hour. This turned in to and hour and we weren’t updated much throughout this time, they also wouldn’t let us order any starters whilst we waited at the bar so we were absolutely starving by the time we finally got a seat. Having said that the food is of a very good standard as is their wine selection. However if you’re a vegetarian (which I am) prepare for pretty standard veggie options, this restaurant definitely caters to meat eaters.

This was the one of the best meals we had in Sri Lanka. We returned multiple times to work our way through the menu and cocktails and it did not disappoint. The staff were very attentive and the restaurant had a great vibe. They pride themselves on using local ingredients and have an open kitchen policy so you can watch the many chefs prepping the meals. We are massive foodies and were on the hunt for some amazing food and this absolutely met the mark. All of the staff and owners should be super proud of what they have created here. It really was a stand out for our whole trip! Will keep dreaming of the hot butter cuttlefish!

Great place for dinner! Cool outdoor venue with most tables under cover. Staff were helpful, food was excellent, as are the cocktails. I would definitely come here again! Menu was mostly western dishes, so not the place to come if you want authentic Sri Lanken cuisine. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Amazing place... Extremely clean with an artistic touch. I don't want to spoil the little surprises, but If you are one who appreciates details, this place is heavenly. I haven't even mentioned the included all-day breakfast, with Sri-Lankan and western options; mouthwatering!! If I were to come back to Unawatuna, I wouldn't even try another place. That would just be plain stupid.

Not worth the money. They promised a sea view room when in fact all it overlooked was trees with a hint of sea in between. Rooms are tiny, breakfast was average, staff not very polite. They didn't even let us check in half an hour prior. Better rooms available in the same area at lower prices.

Bedspace Beach is without a doubt the best place to stay in Unawatuna. From the moment of arrival our host Paige was there to meet our every need! From an early check in to advice about the surrounds, and a room upgrade! She was tremendously helpful!. Bedspace has a great deal of thoughtful touches that makes it stand out far above the rest: Beach towels (with accompanied bag), nespresso machine in the room, hammocks both inside and outside, umbrellas for rainy days, books in a small library in your room!, clever room lighting, ample space on the balcony, coffee and breakfast served to your room (on request). A water cooler is on standby to fill up water bottles to reduce plastic. The rooms are super clean and well decorated. The location is superb and a short hop and you are on the beach!. Checkout was simple and easy. Management is excellent and the breakfasts is out of this world, best in Sri Lanka by a very very long shot! Thank you Bedspace Team it was great to experience your hospitality.

Just brilliant. Slightly difficult to find at first but once your in there I'd an amazing choice of great food to be had. There are beers and cocktails. And excellent staff. So good I visited 3 days in a row so I could try a bit of everything.

Really nice stay. People are especially friendly including Rocky, their dog. A very modern and professional hotel with plenty of charm. Food is almost exclusively western, which I think might be it's only downfall. But then again it's offering something different to the rest of the places around so who can blame them.

The food was delicious! So was the service more pricy than what we use to paying through our travels in Sri Lanka but the quality and portions made up for it.

Staff is extremely professional and polite. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean despite the building seeming slightly older. The kitchen also serves delicious food and drinks. Worth a visit!

The best part about this place is the atmosphere! All the friendly and laid-back vibes I miss about staying in hostels but with 1000 x better rooms and facilities. Staff were super friendly, rooms were spacious and clean, and the restaurant/bar were fabulous. Missing my daily Ceylon Sour! Location is also very central.

Beautiful place, the mushroom risotto was delish. Visited in March 2019. Service was good, cocktails were good, open kitchen was quite a nice touch.

Amazing food. We had the prawn padthai and the lemongrass seafood curry - both delicious! Good vibes and service.

Without a doubt earns this rating, by far the best food in unawatuna. Easier to access direct from the main road, but the backstreets from the beach road will get you there too. The pork belly is definitely in my top 3 ever, and I've eaten a few. It was so good we went back a second day for more of the menu. Varied drinks selection, simple but effective food menu, relaxed and polite staff, well worth the money.

We had the chicken and beef burgers here - both were delicious, the best western food we had in Sri Lanka. Wish we went back again during our stay. Definitely recommend a visit!
