Incredible ambience and very tasty food! Music is very soothing and the place is very spacious. Staff is very attentive and helpful :) Must try if in Galle! Best mexican food in town!

Come here for dinner or lunch! The food is amazing and the space is super cozy. We ended up coming here both times we went to Unawatuna on our holiday because we loved it so much. The prices are super cheap (compared to Europe) and the food is tasty. They have really good drinks too and the selection is big. We tried a lot of different dishes and everything was good but the taquitos were our favourite.

Never would have thought to try a Mexican place in Sri Lanka, but boy am I glad we did! We were absolutely surprised by the food, the drinks, and the nice vibe. We ordered a beer, lime juice, taco (the pulled beef ones), and 2 small plates (seen on the pictures). A hint of spice and burst of flavor but not too much! The atmosphere, decorations, and openness of the restaurant helped create such a nice experience. I would definitely recommend this to any local or tourist looking for something different compared to the typical seafood and rice & curry places around.

You are made to feel very welcome as soon as you enter, with the staff making sure you feel comfortable with any fans near you turned in from the start. The BBQ chicken tacos we had were truly delicious and the mango mojito went down very easily. Would highly recommend to any taco lovers out there.

I stopped in at 12pm for the loaded vegan Nachos with no expectations. I left at 1pm with thinking, "this is the best restaurant I've ever been to in Sri Lanka". Fantastic, friendly service. Lovely decor. Very clean. Delicious food and smoothie. I'll be back.

Wow, what a find! I’ve been searching for Mexican food living in Sri Lanka for one year and this place nailed it! We got nachos (with pulled beef), prawn tostadas, and Mahi Mahi tacos. All three were tasty, but the nachos and prawn tostadas were amazing. Nachos were made with homemade chips, so good! Beef was tender and delicious. Prawns were cooked to perfection. (Fish tacos came with a salsa which was a little too sweet for us). Service was super quick (not that busy but still incredibly fast). Portions were generous and felt fair for the price. They weren’t skimpy with sea food or guacamole/salsa. Left feeling very satisfied! Will definitely be back.

The tacos and the margaritas are absolutely incredible!! I've been multiple times now and they never disappoint! The service was very quick quick helpful and makes you feel like you're a part of the community! If you're in the area, check this place out! You won't be disappointed!!

We loved the Tacos! Food quality was extraordinary including all the Meat. Also the location is very nice and provides a good atmosphere.

Drooling thinking about how good this food was. Not to mention the delicious spicy Margaritas! As much as we were loving the Sri Lankan curries, we wanted to break it up this night, and what better way to do that than with Mexican?! We had a plate each of the pulled pork and cauliflower tacos and could not fault them. They were soooo delicious! The atmosphere was very nice and chill too, and the staff member that served us was incredibly friendly. Highly recommend!

A roof top taqueria in Unawatuna that serves up delectable food and outrageously delectable cocktails. The service staff are wonderful as are the ladies cooking up a storm from the kitchen. They deserve our accolades for what they do even when there is no power and the last thing the hosts need is for some grumpy entitled "Z" tourists shouting at them. Shame on them and Bravo to the crew at this place. Go and enjoy a great meal and service. You will not regret it.

Very good Mexican food with generous portions of great tasting food. We had the guac to share and tacos (come with 3 each) which was more than enough for lunch! Maybe is slightly more expensive than other places round about but we felt it was worth it.

Didn’t eat here but the margaritas were excellent. Friendly staff and cool spot, only thing that let it down a bit was it was so quiet on a Friday night we were the only 2 people there at 10pm and they started cleaning/shutting the place up whilst we still had full drinks. But other than that really liked the place and would still recommend.

That food made me so happy. And its not easy to say that on the food her at sri lanka. It takes them a hard work to make delicious food here. But the hide out made it big time! The fact that im vegetarian did not change at all. There is there many options Oh, and you can even try the mexican beer If you got bored of the lion beer already😉 Would definitely come back for another round🌮💗

We took a break from all of the seafood and curries so we came to visit this place for Mexican food. The location is convenient and they also have parking available. We came here twice during our quick trip to Unawatuna (for lunch and snack after our beach trip) The ambience is very relaxing, they play good music and there is a massage place towards the end (after all the tacos we ate) Their selection of cocktails are insanely good and we couldn’t even choose so the Tamarind Cocktail and Chili Passionfruit were recommended to us. The food was amazing and delicious with the fusion of local flavors. My favorite was the guacamole with plantain chips. Will definitely come back and try more from their very interesting menu. Dined there twice. The restaurant offers a good choice of Mexican food, the atmosphere there is so nice and authentic. BUT I was all eaten by mosquitoes while being there and no anti-mosquito bottles around us worked.

Just had a fantastic time at The Hideout Unawatuna! The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from, and the cocktails were superb. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the place was clean and fresh. I felt like I was getting great value for money, and I would highly recommend The Hideout Unawatuna to anyone looking for a great place to eat and drink.

Amazing mexican food.. the tacos were delicious and crispy. Quirky little cafe that sits on the 3rd floor on one of the happening spots in Unawatuna. We will be back for the sangria next time.. had to hold back since we were driving back

Really delicious and huge portions. We ordered the beef/cheese, BBQ chicken (my personal fav), shredded pork and fish tacos. In addition to the guac and plantain chips, this was way too much food for 4 people. I suggest allowing for 2 tacos per person.

This cuisine is just not well suited for people who don’t like coriander.. I don’t like coriander. Everything here has coriander. The location is nice. Staff is friendly. Drinks was nice. Food I didn’t enjoy so much.. the tacos were generously filled, which made it very difficult to eat them. I wont give less stars as I’m don’t like coriander and probably shouldn’t go to a Mexican taqueria then hehe

One of my favorite restaurants in Unawatuna!! The vibe is super cool and the service is great. The quality reminded me of California - Amazing tacos (delicious, freshly made tortillas), great guac and shrimp ceviche, and the margs are absolutely perfect!

Best restaurant in Unawatuna definitely. Really nice place with great food!! Nachos and guacamole were amazing! On Tuesday there are nachos offers, each one for 275lk! When it comes to the price it’s quite reasonable taking into consideration the place, quality of the food. We will repeat for sure!

The signature cocktail Tequila Kombucha was hella refreshing and super good. Dirty fries were so good that I almost ordered two portions. Batter fried prawn tacos and pork tacos were amazing and the mango salsa was to die for. Best hangover food I can recommend to anyone in Unawatuna. Service, presentation and the atmosphere was excellent. It’s a mexican chef’s kiss 💯

Amazing vibes, service is great if you come early like us (6.10pm we were here and already half full restaurant). We ordered smoothies, came fast to the table and great taste, for mains prawns, burrito and tacos. As a vegetarian I'm pleased they have many options. Vegan friendly too. Some of the best western food and cocktails we had in Sri Lanka for a good price. Chilli cocktail was 🔥. Probably the only real tacos we’ve had on the south coast, finally soft shells and good vegetarian options. The vibes super cool sitting out overlooking the street with good tunes. It can get busy so come before 7pm. Highly recommend

Must visit in Unawatuna. A perfect place for solo travellers, couples, families and larger groups of of people. Situated on a covered rooftop they have relaxed modern decor and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great mexican food, quite a few vegetarian options and amazing cocktails.

Amazing place! Food is sinfully yummy. The vibe is so enjoyable with a great view bit away from busy Unawatuna rush. Great fusion of Sri Lankan and classic mexican kitchens. Loved every bit of the experience. Must try nachos guys, thumbs up!

I liked the atmosphere there. They have quite varieties of couctals which I've never hear of before. Those their original couctals are amazing! And the dishes are delicious as well. You must try :)

They’re OPEN! Aug 6 2021 - super vibey and chic. They’re margaritas are a work of art. The chili passion was SPICY. It was perfect. We got mahi mahi fish tacos and the pumpkin tacos. The pumpkin tacos were unique and phenomenal. The mahi mahi were okay, I thought they were grilled (came fried) but maybe I read the menu wrong. The salsas are honestly the best part. Super super spicy but HIT THE SPOT. Prices are higher but overall it was a great spot with good food and alotttt of ambiance.
