Free tour but trying to sell you their stuff very aggressively. When we said we don't want to buy anything, they stopped being nice and try to persuade us to buy overpriced things. Simply, a scam made for tourists.

1000 Rupies for 15min massage is too expensive. Other places offer 60 min massage for 2500 Rupies. Also they offer hair removal paste which is actually "Veet" repacked to some small 60ml bottle and they sell it as "miracle" treatment. They afford for one bottle 4000 rupies, and they sugest to buy 10 bottles of that paste. They also offer all kind of magic liquids, which help to "Get better memory" "Lose 5kg of weight in 20 days" and so on. They offer also boat trip, which is very expensive. -not suggesting. You can get better price for boat trip on "Mirissa Eco Lagoon Safari" which costs 3000 rupies.(Transport included from hotel to the boat and back). My opinion: Don't even think to visit that place - total scam. Or: You can visit and listen but don't buy anything and don't take any service from them.

It’s a herbal garden and boat tour place at Kogala lake. The herbal tour was nice but definitely tailored towards selling their products. Also the products seemed shady. We then went on to take a boat tour which we payed 6.000 lkr for two ppl. I wouldn’t recommend this for several reasons. Firstly because of the emissions, secondly the lake is also beautiful from the shore, the boat tour isn’t very value-adding, especially since our tour guide just dropped us of at two places and didn’t explain anything. We were brought to an island where they showed us how to make cinnamon rolls, but were rude once we didn’t buy anything of course. The second stop is a temples island, which is nice but a guided tour would have been nice. Overall I recommend going to Kola Vegan restaurant to enjoy the lake instead, or to just do the herbal tour if necessary.

Interesting herbs and knowledge. The price is high for the products.

The tour was basically an extended sales pitch - we were shown about 20 plants and the focus was on the ayurvedic treatments created from them. That's fine if it's your thing, but don't expect extensive descriptions of plant biology and growth habits or descriptions of how they turn plants into the various products they have for sale. The tour ended with being ushered into the shop for another description of all their products. If you buy with a credit card, expect a 3% surcharge. Also, the garden is located next to a lake and the grounds were covered with many puddles. We encountered the most daytime mosquitos there of any place visited so far, but we've stayed mostly along the coast so maybe it's not a fair comparison. Seems like a mildly interesting place worth 30 minutes of your time if you're on the way somewhere and don't have a better plan.

we got taken there by our very friendly tuktuk driver… then we got ripped off and payed 90€ for 3 bad cremes.. most disappointing event of our beautiful sri lanka holiday… all comments are true, BIG SCAM!

It was very interesting. Then guide was very knowledgeable, it seems there is a plant/herb to fix every human ailment, both mental and physical! I am travelling for another 2 months so couldn't really buy anything (as I have to carry it). But I really wanted to buy the vanilla bean extract, I bake a lot of home and it smelt so much better than the one I have. Things were very expensive too. Vanilla is anywhere but other things were. I made a donation as the garden is free to visit.

worst rip off I experienced in Sri-Lanka. I was taken there by a good massage therapist I knew and trusted.
