Nice place in downsouth. Thisnis natural blow hole. The wind should be little bit high to see the pressure pump to the up. Parking available but you have to park and walk some distance. There is a 20 rupee ticket for local visitors. cash only. Also there is a museum in the area. But it closed. There is no shelter in near blow hole. But have a steel guard this might be helpful to save life. Nice place Worth to visit. When the wind is high.

Caution/Tip: no shades near the blow hole, therefore sunscreen, caps and other itinerary is advice. Take water bottles ! Buy tickets at the counter no need to pre reserve. The harbor and fish market are close by do make a point to visit too ! Worlds second largest blow hole and based in the southern province of Sri Lanka ! Very active and do go there during the afternoons for some stunning nature pics ! Best season to visit is in July to September ticket counter is right at the foothill and a very small 5 to 10 minute hike.

Place was a beautiful and clean. Beach was a very clear. You need to park your vehicle and go nearly around 300 m in foot path after that have a stair also. My opinion is evening is the suitable time to went there. The height of the water column depends on the nature of the sea wave.

One of the beautiful tourists destination in down south. You have to walk about 300 m to see this wonderful place. Privet parking facility available. It is best to visit from July to September to see large water height. Normally when waiting 20-30 minutes you can see several big water blowings.

Superb piece of nature. Stunning place. Very beautiful scenic and enjoyable environment. Bit far from the main road. Have to walk little bit from the car park. Few steps to be followed towards the blow hole. Well organized and established facilities by the urban council.

During a delightful picnic with my family, we had the opportunity to visit the Hummanaya blowhole in the southern partof SriLanka. Witnessing the powerful water surge more than 25 feet above sea level was a remarkable experience for all of us. The Hummanaya blowhole attracts both local and foreign tourists who come to admire this incredible natural phenomenon. It was a memorable outing that allowed us to appreciate the majestic beauty of nature.

A picturesque blowhole accessible through the Southern expressway. You need to park your vehicle in a nearby private parking lot and walk about 500 metres. On the way you can buy fried fish. Need to buy tickets to enter the place. The information centre was closed when we entered. So didn't find any toilets. You need to wait a while to see the flash of water. Locals hoot expecting a blow to come.

One of miracle creation of nature. Sea water is uplifted natural stone cannel. As a result, beautiful water mist uplifted time to time. Safe steel fence established around the Hummanaya. All observing peoples get wet due to mist of lifted water. There is a small track to walk to reach the blow hole. On the way there are small businesses which are run by the residents of the houses of the road sides where they sell dried fish and fried fish etc for reasonable prices. They even have ice cream shops etc. On the way there is this beach area which is unpolluted and so beautiful. There were lots of crabs, sea urchins and sea animals there. At the beginning of the trail, there is this shop which is clean and well maintained and they even allowed us to eat what we had brought from home which was very convenient for us. It's definitely a place to visit.

Very nice experience. This rocks are made naturally but they charge ticket since they are maintaining and they have put barricades for safety up there. This Blow hole phenomenon is much beautiful when there is high tide. one can spot Peacock and Monitor Lizard on the way. So be careful. Ticket are there 500LKR for Foreigners.

A natural wonder, the Hummanaya Blow Hole shoots a jet of sea water between rocks, occasionally rising to heights of over 25 meters. However, it is not always happening all year. (You can clearly see this in the rough season of the sea.) This shooting is absolutely eye-catching. Prior to the seawater shooting, you hear a sound that is like whispering. I think the name of the place (Hummanaya) has a link to this sound. (The sound is like "Hmmm.") The surroundings of the place are covered with many trees, so the place is cool. Opening time: 0800 hrs. and closing time: 1900 hrs. With a vehicle, you can go up to 300 meters. However, for the rest of the journey, you have to walk. There are ample paid parking facilities available. parking charge is LKR 100/-. It may differ depending on the season. But some park owners force you to park your vehicle at their places, which is not pleasant. Ticket price: LKR 50/- per local adult and LKR 500/- for foreigners (as I remember). This place is under the control of the Tangalle local council (Pradeshiya Sabha). The place is well-maintained by them. Some other facilities are also there. On your return, you can taste delicious fried fish. Also, you can buy dry fish and Maldives fish (umbalakada) at a low price. Worth visiting this place.

Awesome place in southern province dikwelle, Blowhole (Hummanaya). Better for the seasonal times, to watch blowhole spray water. Most tourists attraction place and fishing activities are doing the beach.

The Hummanaya Blow Hole in Sri Lanka is a natural marvel that leaves an indelible impression on visitors. As I stood on the viewing platform, the sheer power and beauty of nature unfolded before my eyes. The rhythmic dance of the waves, in sync with the geological wonder, created an awe-inspiring spectacle. The blow hole, with its roaring resonance, unleashed sprays of water that soared to impressive heights, reaching up to 25 meters. The timing of my visit during the southwest monsoon season added an extra dimension to the experience, as the waves seemed to collaborate with the blow hole, intensifying the water spray. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and the occasional burst of the blow hole created a symphony of nature's forces. The accessibility of the site, coupled with well-constructed viewing platforms, allowed me to safely marvel at this natural phenomenon. The coastal landscape surrounding the blow hole added to the allure, creating a serene backdrop for this dynamic display of natural power. Visiting the Hummanaya Blow Hole is not just about witnessing a geological wonder; it's about feeling the pulse of the Earth and recognizing our place in the grand tapestry of the natural world. This site is a must-see for anyone exploring the southern coast of Sri Lanka, offering a glimpse into the raw and untamed beauty that the island nation has to offer.

Water rise up through a hole and gives a great view and experience. However we need to have patience to see as it happens only when big waves hit through the hole. Enjoyed it. If you are staying around definitely see this.

Another place you must visit if you love the nature in Sri Lanka. Clean and exciting place to see and wait for the water coming up from the sea. You will see the best results during June to September. After that due to less wind there is no pressure to see the water blowing .

I feel it could be an interesting place when we have high tides, in normal days you won’t be able to see much. For foreigners, you have to pay Rs 250 and then you will have a short hike for few minutes to reach the point.

Natural phenomena where sea water is throwing high like Burj Khalifa's dancing fountain. Sea water is almost like fresh milk. The sea is rough in this area. Stones are slippery. Therefore be careful when you visit this place. Fortunately they have fixed a fence around this place to avoid any accidents. Please support to maintain beautiful places like this.
