A great place for stay with friends. Fantastic environment. Located at a very green-ish surrounding. There are things that needs to be improved, like maintaining the pool and so. Yet, for the price, what this place offers is absolutely 5 stars.

The most lovely place. We chose to stay here for a whole week. On purpose we chose a place a little away from the sea both to get a better price and secondly it means a lot to us that it gets more personal when it’s family owned rather than a big hotel. It’s been a true pleasure to stay here. The rooms are big and light with grand bathrooms. We got a room on first floor and therefore a really high ceiling. Fresh flowers, A/C and a couple of free water to start out with. The breakfast is wonderful and change from day to day but always with lots of fresh fruit, bread and eggs. We ate here every night, and the food is homemade and lovely. Chrishan and Melani do everything that can to facilitate your needs and offer a free ride to Unawatuna Beach if wanted. This place we highly recommend. We were here with three kids and they loved the big garden, the pool and to play with their little sweet child named Heavenly. If you want a nice relaxed place to go - away from all the (other) tourists, this is the place :)

Highly recommended accommodation. We had an awesome time here. The hosts Christian and Melani and her dad are super nice people, we felt very welcomed and they were always very helpful. The breakfast was super delicious and every day different. The huge garden is amazing, the kids could just run around, feed the fish, watching the monkeys and peakocks or swim in the pool. All in all a perfect stay. The surrounding area is also quite nice, it has a bit jungle feeling and you can watch warans along the river. And it's only a 10mins drive by Tuktuk to the beach.

The estate is very nice. Well maintained. Closed, safe and clean. Breakfast is very good and the owner will bring what you want in amounts you please. Pancakes with coconut chutney, Dahl curry, toast with jam, nice fruit and coffee. One day we asked dinner - curry was very good. Swimming pool is nice and safe, surrounded by palm trees. What lowers the score is the owner who is extremely commercial and a bit imposing. I don't like such style. His daughter Melanie is much more discrete. The owner is nice, don't get me wrong but he wants to make money in every corner and that is simply displeasing - transit, money exchange, tuk tuk. We always found better offers than what he proposed. Just be mindful and make your choice after reseach. At the end of the day I recommend Villa Gaetano. Good breakfast, clean rooms, nice estate and swimming pool. But the owner with his commitment to making money makes this experience a bit less of what it could be.

Thats lovely place with beautyful garden and sweaming pool. Very clean rooms with all what you need. Ther is also kitchen available so you can prepare some food. They serve also very good breakfast and dinner. Very friendly owner and his family run that place. We had amazing time there. They also organise transfer to the beach for the guest.

Ive been coming to Srilanka for years and this is by far the friendliest most reasonably priced hotel in Unawatuna. Our room was spacious, well designed and clean, the gardens are beautiful and there is a pool.

Such a lovely family and property. Set in amongst the mangroves away from the busy beach front. Short trip into main town so don’t worry about feeling to left out. Very much recommend !

we felt very well in this location. the room is big, as is the bathroom. the yard is gorgeous with all kinds of animals (monkeys, squirrels, birds, etc.). the breakfast is delicious, every morning we were offered something else. Close to the city and beach however if you are seeking tranquility and authentic Sri Lankan hospitality, this is your property! We can only recommend this place and will be back here again for sure! The rooms are surrounded by lush greenery, a pond and swimming pool. It’s quiet, the rooms are beautiful and clean, and the hosts are pleasant. Would recommend it to anyone!
