โ€žHorribleโ€œ sums it up quite well. Garbage is thrown into the sea and the bushes or burned, gasoline smell, strong currents and the villas are built up to the sea. If you like to lie between garbage and a wall, you should come here. On the second picture you can see the "famous swing". Absolutely overrated this beach. No need to get there.

One of the most beautiful and safest beach in Sri Lanka. Itโ€™s like a natural pool because waves are blocked by a huge natural cliff. You can swim with turtles in here. Bring goggles. You can watch amazing sunset in here. Come and enjoy

Overcrowded and absolut not authentic! Please especially donโ€™t feed the wildlife - there are many locals who are selling sea weed and many tourist who actually fall into this trap and contribute to interfere with nature which causes turtles not to be able to survive on their own eventuallyโ€ฆ make a statement by not supporting this - the picture is not worth it (besides it wonโ€™t be a nice one as you have 30 tourist running behind one turtle and trying to get the best shot while feeding). You can see plenty of turtles around these beaches without causing harm. They are meant to live independently and in sync with their nature

Very Nice beach. This is a best place for sea bath with a beautiful sunset. But there have cafes near to the beach. They don't give access to the beach without being their customers. It is so rude. And you need to park your vehicle on near road, across the road and walk to this destination.

One of the best places to have a sea bath. Protected by a natural cliff. Really beautiful scenery. A recommended place to visit if going out for a beach trip down south near Galle. Also please watch out for large tortoise as they are a very common sighting. I mean not that theyโ€™re dangerous. Thereโ€™s a rick nearby you can climb on to it have enjoy this beautiful scenery and even could get glimpses of those tortoises. And watch out for rough sea days as when very rough the sea is dangerous over here.

Dalawella beach/vijaya beach located 1.5 km south side of Unawatuna beach. What lovely beach with less tourists. From the beach sunset is amazing. Beach also very clean. We met few turtles while snorkeling at shallow water of beach. Best place to take Instagram pictures. There is a Rock locally called โ€œKorwak Galaโ€ amazing with sunset time to take pictures. Also there is a swing and by paying Rs. 300.00 you can get lovely pictures. Few nice restaurants around. Highly recommended

Though the main beach is pretty nice it's also a touristy place because of the two main attractions that attracts many people to this beach. #lsjtaxi #SriLanka #travel #visitsrilanka #travelsrilanka #srilankatravel #vacation #dalawella #dalawellabeach #thingstodoinsrilanka #travelvacation #vacationtravel #unawatuna #naturephotography #visitsrilanka #travelsrilanka #srilankatravel #travelphotography #ceylon #beach #beachlovers #beachphotography #sunset #sunsetbeach #vacation #beachvacation #beachsrilanka #birdseye #birdeyeview #southernsrilanka #solotravel #backpacker #backpackerlife #backpacker_pics ##solotraveler

Are you looking for a surf spot and that famous rope swing? This is the place. Drive slow to this beach because on the way you will find so many beautiful beaches and picturesque spots.

Very crowded place, lots of children, beach is tiny, there is like a pool place to swim, expensive restaurants. Yes U can see turtles here, but to be honest I was very concerded about their well being, when 20 people were chasing after them. People dont respect their boundries, turtles dont have peace here ๐Ÿ˜ฅI felt sorry for them..

Nice relaxing beach. Come early if you want to see turtles without large crowds. Please keep in mind that you are not allowed to feed, touch or surround the turtles. Some of the locals do take photos of people doing it and send it to the police, you could potentially get prison time from trying to hold a turtle. We left because too many kids were trying to feed, touch and surround the turtles. Please let your kids know how to behave around wild turtles.

This beach is the place to find big turtles and feed them seaweed! Access to the beach is via the many beach resorts there. There isnt a large shore so if you want to stay you would have to sit in any of the beachside restaurants or sit on the wall.

Loved this beach & the sunset is unreal! Not too many people, but still a lot of tourists because of all the swings here! Check out our Instagram/ Facebook for more: @wanderlust.lovers & let us know if you have any questions! โค๏ธ

Very busy beach. Walkable distance from unawatuna basically by the ocean. Didnโ€™t really enjoy.

The beach is beautiful. You can walk along the beach. According to the season, the sea may be rough. There are turtles as well.

Sometimes there are very strong waves here, which are probably difficult even for very good swimmers. Caution is advised. However, the place is beautiful, you can see indescribably great sunsets here. There is the Angel Beach Unawatuna Club where you can get loungers, beds and towels. There are delicious drinks and food and the staff is super friendly. The beach also has very fine sand. When the waves are weaker (starts Nov/Dec) it's a stunning place to swim.

A wonderful beach. Less crowded when compared with Unawatuna beach which is close by. There is a large rock bed few meters deep which spreads across a wide area which makes a shallow pool of whater where you can bath freely. It is super safe and ideal for kids. Only downside is there is not much parking available in the area. There are some perfect instagtam shots available as well. Highly recommend.

Basic beach but definitely worth a visit. It has a lagoon-type area where the waves do not crash so you can actually go swimming (unlike most beaches in Sri Lanka) and this area is very regularly visited by sea turtles!! We were in the water for about 45 minutes/ 1 hour and saw about 10 sea turtles swimming past! You can hire out goggles here too so you can watch them swimming. Theyโ€™re not afraid of people at all! They swim right up to you :)

The Russian people donโ€˜t respect the rules! I was here for the last 4 days because my hotel was near the beach and it was every day the same. The Russians make a circle around the turtles so they canโ€™t escape and then they touch them and even lift them out of the water or let their children ride on them! Also they just throw their trash in the water or on the beach (I saw a Russian couple which left a used diaper on the beach) and they make fun of the locals! The people of Sri Lanka has to do something against it and they need to protect the turtles and their beaches.

Dalawella Beach is a stunning beach located in the southern part of Sri Lanka, near Unawatuna. It's known for its pristine white sand, crystal-clear waters, and laid-back atmosphere.

Nice beach. Good to see Turtles during the day. Also a good spot for instergram until the famous coconut tree above the rock died. Still nice sunsets and easy swimming due to the reef. However thereโ€™s a sewage issue here. Many times I have noticed that dirty smelly water going to the ocean right through the beach. It makes it uncomfortable for guests. I hope the hotel and restaurants owners will do something about this.

Sand in this beach is so hard and walking through the beach is so difficult. That's why it is called Dalawella. However the natural beauty of this beach is great. The famous swing in this beach adds a great experience for the tourists as it is in the beach.
