Really awesome experience. The owner showed us a lot of different snakes including a big python and very beautiful and scary cobra. You can touch the snakes and feel them on you, even on your head if you want 😘😍 (non-poison). The place is little bit hidden in a jungle and you feel like a real adventurer ❤😍 This worth visiting 👍 Very nice experience. It was very interesting and not scary. Come and see, the snakes are very nice. You will have a really good time here, and tons of pictures. The owner is amazing 🤩❤❤

We visited the farm today and saw some very nice snakes. The owner knew a lot about the animals and their behavior. He rescued these animals and will let them free. I adore his honest and hard work. We had a very nice experience.

I and fiance came here by bike and it is easy to miss the signboard but the local people there are very nice and friendly. We saw three Sri Lanka Cobras (black and white cobra), a Viper snake, Boa Python, Green Vine snake, Flying snake or Gliding snake, Cat-eyed snake and a few more! The guy who showed us all the snakes have really good knowledge and informative too!! Pretty chilled and cool guy. You can also touch and take a photo with some of the snakes if you want. Very tame and photogenic 😂 Worth to go if you are into reptiles 😍

A great place to learn about snakes and even hold them. There were Trinket snakes, spectacled cobras, Indian rock pythons, Forsten's cat snakes, Sri Lankan cat snakes, banded kukri snake and Ceylonese pipe snakes. I even touched the cobra!. Highly recomended.

A fantastic experience, one of the best activities in Sri Lanka. Always wanted to get close to cobra and the visit here did not disappoint. Takes around an hour so easy to fit into other activities that day too.

After reading the reviews we decided to check this snake farm out over another one and where not disappointed. His knowledge, communication and experience as a whole was great. Fee for an adult is 2500RS well worth it for all the snakes he saves on a regular basis. Do call in advance to make sure he is around we had no troubles at all and highly recommend.

Make sure you know the price beforehand! We were looking for something to do and heard about the snake farm. Called the owner and arranged the visit. When we got there we were seated outside, near the house and the owner started to bring out the snakes. There is a limited variety of snakes, both poisonous and non poisonous, some you can touch and hold. No show room or exhibition. You are encouraged to take photos, and the owner rapidly changes the snakes. My daughter was terrified at first, but slowly got the courage to touch the smaller ones. The owner says he's an ayurvedic doctor, like his father and had ayurvedic medicine for sale, which he will offer you. I give him points for agreeing to bring the smaller snakes again for my daughter, but the vibe wasn't very friendly. He answered our questions, didn't elaborate or look us in the eyes, kept looking at the tuktuk driver for some reason... Seemed like he was in a hurry and the whole thing didn't last long. At the end, we asked how much does it cost, because there was no sign, and he replied 8,000 rupees (2 adults, 2 kids). I was astonished, since this is very expensive for Sri Lanka, and he asked how much I was thinking to pay? Mentioning that the normal price was 2500 per person (haven't seen normal prices like that anywhere else). I felt stupid for not asking beforehand, and we agreed on 5000. I also know he reads these reviews, cause I read them later and saw his comments, so friend, just let people know how much you're asking for and let them decide if it's worth it. He also likes to reply that people went to the wrong place and that he doesn't want money, but from the photos it's the same guy.

Such an amazing experience being able to hold various non-venomous snakes and see a variety of venomous snakes that you wouldn’t normally be able to see. Vikman was such a good host and knew all about his snakes 🐍 not only was it very informative, it was also a great way to get over fears 😬 overall, would highly recommend!!

An amazing experience with the snakes on this farm. Very friendly and knowledgeable owner who put us at ease from the very beginning (scary at first!). Would recommend to anyone who has a fear or wants to know more about the different species!

Great experience! Not a "snake farm", but a centre where snakes are rescued and returned to the wild. The owner/snake handler and his father, grandfather, and eventually son have been the areas snake handlers - collecting snakes from people's homes etc, treating snake bites/poisonings. We paid 2000 rupees for 2 people for a 1 hour experience where we got to see venomous cobra snakes up close, and also handle/hold non-venemous snake and take pictures. Such a lovely family - was 1000% worth the fee paid.

Good place. There are a lot of different snakes. Most of them are not dangerous and you can take them on your hands. Some snakes are poison, but it not dangerous if you will keep distance from them. It is a good opportunity to take a shocking photos and videos. After visiting this place you will know which snakes you should afraid.

A very educational and fun stop when we were in mirissa. We saw different kinds of snakes and the guy was very friendly and informative. Some snakes you get to touch and toy around with and some are too venomous to try, but still, and you also get to see cobras.

The best snake farm in Sri Lanka. You will see here big, small - snakes of all kinds. Viper, Cobra and other snakes that are not so dangerous anymore. Don't expect any terrarium, everything will be brought to you by the master. 🙂 You can hold the snake, pet it. The trip to this place is definitely worth it. I can only recommend it and the gentleman was very nice and helpful. He explained everything to us. Thank you snake farm 🐍

20 minutes in a tuk tuk from Mirissa, you will find this hidden gem. Nestled in among the trees, up a little dirt path is this little ‘farm’. It’s the owner’s house with an area of grass at the front, rather than somewhere you can roam around, and is very peaceful. The owner has a variety of venomous and non-venomous snakes, all native to Sri Lanka. He brings them out a few at a time and allows you to hold the non-venomous snakes. We spent a wonderful hour with the snakes and ended the visit with a fresh sweet coconut. It might be worth calling ahead to check if he’s open for guests that day. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Perfect attraction, many types of snakes, most are not poisonous and you can enjoy holding them. You can even hold a cobra by the tail. Beautiful photos. We've been here in January and children aked to come again in April. Spent here more than an hour. Reasonable price (April 2022: 2000rs adult and 1000 rs children).

Overall it was an interesting experience but seems a bit too expensive to pay 2000 lkr per person for 10 min of showing snakes. It would be nice to get to know more about snakes not only take photos. It was impressive to see snakes but in the end, we felt like it's only about money for the owner. Also would be useful to have prices shown somewhere as it seems the owner decides what price to charge randomly :)

Amazing collection of snakes. Lots of non poisonous snakes which are very friendly. He helps you engage touch and interact with them. He also has a collection of poisonous snakes. He brought them out for all to see. Explained details to the kids and did it without allowing any of us to get scared. My kids are 6 year old and they loved it. They loved holding the snakes. He even allowe the kids to take back some snake skin

If you want to get over the fear of snakes and do it in Sri Lanka, then this is the place for you! Were introduced with various Lankan snakes that live here. The person mostly puts the snakes around you, on your hat or glasses. There are small ones and big ones. Price for one person is 2,500LKR which is definitely worth the price. 🐍

Very interesting place to learn more about snakes. The owner shows you the different snakes in front of the house, lets you take close-up photos of them and you can even touch some of them or even let them lie around you. He always has different snakes there, depending on which ones he is rescuing and nurturing at the time of the visit. After 2 months at the latest, he releases them back into the wild. He is usually called by locals who have found the snakes in their fields, for example. In itself, it's a really good initiative that his grandfather brought to life. Cost per person is 2500 rs.

We were there for about an hour, received a friendly welcome and were brought into contact with the various snakes. The treatment of the animals was extremely respectful and we were amazed at how calm and relaxed they were. Before I was very afraid of snakes, but this visit has definitely made it much better. The owner saves snakes all over Sri Lanka from being killed, catches them with his own hands and releases them again after a while. A nice visit. At the end we were politely asked about the payment (2.5K/P), which we were happy to give!!

An interesting place for an hour and a half outing. 10 minutes from the Weligama coast. The owner of the farm is in the third generation working with snakes. He talks about snakes, but most importantly, he lets you hold them (except the poisonous ones) and take pictures. A lot of impressions, I recommend it.

We had a a great experience at the snake farm, the owner and workers are very welcoming and allow you to interact with the snakes at your own pace. They are also very careful when showing the venomous snakes and at the end they invited us to drink coconut water. I like that they are not in a hurry to show you the different snakes and like to answer our questions. Very recommended place!

If you are afraid of snakes this is the place to lose your fear. The host is very knowledgeable and friendly. You get to hold a variety of non venomous snakes and observe the venomous ones. I had a great time as a snake lover. This was a real great way to spend an afternoon.

We learnt a lot about snakes at Wickman’s snake farm. It was a lovely experience and we got to see and interact with many types of snakes and take really cool photos too. As locals it’s hardwired into our brains that all snakes are bad and here we get to learn that many of them are actually innocent animals except for a few venomous ones. One of the highlights of our trip down south for sure. Thank you for caring for these misunderstood creatures Mr. Wickan.

Fascinating experience, first time handling snakes! Owner is passionate and very knowledgeable about his danger noodles :) From smallest to huge Indian Python! Even some cobras (which you won't handle, of course) Only downsides: a little few snakes, depending on what they are maintaining at the moment And the owner encourages a little "tourist-like" photos with snake on shoulder etc instead of letting them roam freely in hands... Which is not very natural / ok for snake in my humble opinion, but that's part of the "show" I guess :)
