Beware of Scammers!!! Do not visit the spice market at Main Road. Friendly locals approach you pretending they want to show you their culture and some special local places. They tell you that they buy their stuff here too. Cheap price, cheap price. In reality this is just a scam. They lie to you. The spices are overpriced and they cheat on you when they weigh the spices and tell you the price.

Galle Green Market is like the largest market place that is located in Galle. Goods are not that expensive. You can find almost anything in this market place. Items are fresh and nice. Good place if you are fining a place to buy items for your kitchen around Galle. But not enough parking space. Most probably you will need to park somewhere else and walk here.

Very Old Market in Galle Town. It has Historical value and it is a one of a Symbol of Galle Town. Before the few decades it is No 1 Vegetable market in Galle town. After New Food Citys and New Vegetable markets are opening this market gone down. But it is still Active Vegetable Market in Galle Town!

It's purely just another traditional vegetable and fruit market(pola). You can bargain a bit before you buy. Fresh products available. Good service and great people

The main attraction is the old styled tiled building housing this market. This is an all in all market, where you get vegetables, meats and fruits all together. The main product is the salted fish which is available in plenty and you can see big salted fish hanging, which is something different than back home. The best part of this market is that it is well maintained and clean.

This place was very busy some years back, with a hive of action related to green vegetables in particular, in the single floored good old - historical tall and long building. However, it now looks like catering to a limited number of vendors as well as variety, under utilising its space as well as strategic central location in the center of once Dutch dominated Galle Town, with a much lesser number of customers visiting the market. This beautiful legendary iconic Green Market building and its activities now seem requiring fresh action for revival in order to reach its faded glory of the past.

Green Market Galle located at a prime location. Since it is not fully utilized for its intended business purposes, it looks like a waste of land in The Precious Galle city. Only couple of vendors doing their business and the rest of the place is in delipidated condition.

Covered vegetable market. This a quite market. Sri Lankan style tropical architecture with open columns. Worth a visit despite the state of neglect.

One of the best retail outlet stores in Galle town, Good customer services, once I had problem in my electricity bill payment, I call manager and he sourt out the matter in effective manner.

It's a place where you can buy things for kitchen. Vegies and spices also around the place along the road there are many shops to buy other things retail and wholesale.

Only two vegi sellers were there. It was around 7.30AM when I go there and yet they were getting ready. Not much vegitables were there. Probably people are not coming to buy due to fuel crisis and too high prices.

A lot of fresh vegetable and fruit. Don't buy spices in shop next main street - very expensive. On second end of market is small shop with transparent and much more cheaper prices!

Merchant (tea and spices) only interested in selling without really knowing their products. I would definitely not recommend to buy high classed teas at this spot. Hint: check the prices with your local, specialized dealer back home
