Desert Skies Motel

Hotel

😐 An interesting old 1950s Route 66 art deco motel. A quiet place to sleep, at a low price. But if you're picky about silly things like peeling paint and midnight freight trains, this probably isn't for you. People often mention room,

It is very dated as it is a genuine Rte 66 save. This is a place for the person who wants to have a genuine experience. I visited in February, hardly anyone was there. My room was clean, except the bathroom toilet/floor didn't seem so much. Room does smell a bit smoky and the mattress is a bit stiff. Pillows, blankets clean. Lock on door worked. Outlets were available to charge my phone. Mini fridge. Brought our Penske moving truck parked right up to our room, safe all night. It is right across from multiple train tracks but it didn't bother me much as I like the sound. Some silicone ear plugs would be helpful if you do. The architecture and outdated design of the rooms are priceless, true American classic. For the price paid (35$ at this time of year) and the experience, I would stay here again.

We decided to stay here because the price was not too high but it did not look as run down as the places in the area. The rooms were not fancy but did have the minimum needed. The beds were very hard and you could feel every spring. They only provided 2 towels for 3 people. When I pulled the covers down and there was a beetle on the pillow. We retrieved the hotel manager and he grabbed the bug and said the bed was fine. He argued that he need not change anything. I made it clear I needed new sheets and he again stated the bed was fine. He did eventually change the sheets but would not speak to is. Very poor service, poor English, run down rooms.

The Bed is Hard as a Rock. Both sets of Curtains are In Really Bad Shape! No Way to Adjust The Heating System! It’s Heated by Water! Both Walls on Either Side of the Bed are in Serious Need for Repair! Both Chairs By the Table Are Stained! Lampshade above the Bed Is Really Bad! That’s In Room #14

The price is right for a room with a microwave and refrigerator and TV, you can't beat it. And very friendly service

DON'T STAY HERE!! They charge you extra. There was bed bugs in the room I was staying in. The ac n heater weren't working. The refrigerator wasn't even working tried asking them for a new one but never got it. You're better off staying some where else. Don't waste your money here. Place is TRASH.

I actually really loved the old bathroom, so cute! I think the reviews complaining are just kinda funny because it’s obviously a pretty run down hotel, and I paid $35 for it so what do you expect? The train also wasn’t very loud, didn’t bother us at all. And the owner was nice to us. I’d go back.

Drove into this towel after dark. We were tired and need a place to stay. Outlet by micro/ref didn’t work. Lightbulbs were missing in bathroom fixture. Cold water didn’t work in bathroom sink. Air conditioning fan sounded like a jet plane taking off. No stopper in tube. Screens ripped so you couldn’t open the window for fresh air. Room smelled stale. Mattresses were stacked outside. Sink thrown in a planter box. Ice machine was inoperable.

The first room we had the AC did not work, the second room we had the bed was hard as rock. The place is really clean but it is very dated and the tiles are falling off of the sink. If you need a soft bed I suggest taking an air mattress with you. 😉

Good price, old, needs some maintenance. Beds reasonably comfortable, TV works, has microwave and fridge.

While this isn't the best looking place it was so comfortable and quiet. However after calling several times to get them to bring me toilet paper I gave up .... They were otherwise helpful and kind people
