Fried fish was delicious! Battered and fried perfectly. Cajun grilled shrimp was very good. Thought it would be spicier but was very good. Comes with some seasoned potatoes. Which were delicious as well. Cold boil shrimp is not on the menu but was available and was good. Serving sizes were pretty big. Outside patio seating with a nice view of the water. Perfect experience and delicious food.

We decided to stop at Benno's Cajun Seafood since they had really good reviews online and the food looked really good in the pictures. Well the pictures were absolutely correct. Food was great! Staff is really friendly and will come by and refill your drinks, which is really nice. The view is beautiful looking at the Gulf. I would definitely return.

Food is good, hot and fresh. No blue crabs, which is what I went for, but everyone else must love them too. They forgot my bread pudding, but Mrs Mary Jane assured us she would be there and provide on our next visit. There will definitely be a next visit, therefore no worries.

I respect the history of Benno’s Cajun Seafood restaurant. To be in business for 40yrs is a huge achievement. But it has come to a point, that Benno’s need to make major changes to the business. Starting with the food, I would suggest coming up with new recipes for their current menu items. The interior is dated as well, but for a touristy restaurant I can see them prolonging that upgrade for a little bit longer. What I would suggest though, is changing out or throughly cleaning the floors. I never like walking around any establishment, and I feel my feet peeling off the floor due to how sticky the floors are. Shrimp platter- Very nice size plating of shrimp and fries. But unfortunately for me, the shrimp had a weird taste to them. I didn’t sense the shrimp was spoiled or anything like that. But for some reason the flavor was off Crab cakes- The crab cakes were huge. Unfortunately, this entree was not to my liking. There was a lot of breading and the seasonings was not good. This entree tasted like the ingredients was old. Crab isn’t cheap and for the price to get two cakes is beyond a deal. But I rather substitute quantity for quality.

We ordered the cajun grilled seafood platter and catfish fillet platter and were definitely impressed! Tons of great cajun seasoning and the red seasoned potatoes underneath were to die for. The wait was very long and don't expect a standard sit down and dine restaurant-you stand in line to order and take your cup for refills but don't let that deter you! It was definitely worth the wait.

Spicy but right in the money! Well worth the money and great seawall view. Brings you to the real island vacation eating! Not weak like other “Cajun” wannabes.

We visited Galveston Beach on the Fourth of July and it seemed many restaurants were open and we picked this one. Service was attentive and quick. We got a cajun grilled seafood platter (shrimp, oysters, tilapia, cajun potatoes, bread) and gumbo. We used to get fried seafood often but now we are into grilled/blackened seafood and this was really good. Gumbo had shrimp and sausage and tasted good but was a little spicy for our taste. They have outdoor seating and seagulls can be very aggresive; if you eat outside keep an eye out and better finish all your food!

Mix of old style diner new age with outdoor seating. Cashier/front counter guy was great. Checked on customer’s regularly. It was slow which gave them a time to talk and learn about the history of the place. Celebrating 40 years!! Had the Cajun Platter which I would recommend. Great place with a great view.

It was aight. Went for dinner because it was a Friday and well, it’s lent and stuff so we couldn’t eat meat. They were out of crabs and crawfish which was a let down. Grilled Cajun Shrimps were good besides them being really spicy. Food took a bit long to get but the flavor and how good it was helped that. Personally I wouldn’t have gone there if it wasn’t lent since I’m not so much into seafood besides crawfish and lobsters. It was a cool experience though. The customer service was good and the food was good besides it being quite spicy. Thank for the experience!

I’ve been here a few times and the food and service has been excellent every time. The crabs were HUGE and full of meat. The hush puppies were so good I took an order home. I highly recommend Benny’s.

Great customer service, amazing food! I got the grilled platter and it had great flavor with the perfect amount of spice. Out of all the places I've eaten in Galveston this was the most affordable being on a budget withe the best food. And it's right on the seawall! I will definitely go back!

The place was not busy at all when my wife and I went. We ordered and I wanted crab with cajun seasoning and I was informed they did not have any. How are you gonna call yourself a cajun seafood restaurant and. Not have cajun seasoning. Food was out in a timely manner. I had fish and shrimp, came out amazing. My wife had the shrimp po boy, have had better. The crab was very good, only issue with that was only thing we got were mallets to open them with. Service was not terrible but not impressive.

Food was amazing. Delicious seafood. Service a little slow but it was super busy. We got the shrimp platter and the seafood platter. Plenty of food. Couldn't even finish.

This place has some great seafood. For someone who doesn't live on the coast, I appreciated the very tasty seafood. It's a nice place to come hang out. You order at a counter but they come to your table and will refill drinks etc. I was a bit unimpressed with some of the service. The counter ladies were not nice. I asked about the menu and the one was relatively rude. But the folk coming to the table for drink refills and such were super nice.

It’s delicious! The shrimp tastes fresh not frozen! The seasoning on the shrimp and hush puppies are great. I order a child’s plate to go and shrimp dinner to go. I did expect more food but nonetheless it was tasty!

I was CRAVING boiled shrimp and ended up having the best shrimp I've ever had !! They were listed as "Hot Buttered Pepper Shrimp." I asked what they were and the young lady gave me a PERFECT description...I love when the employees know how the food is prepared. Sauteed U peel em shrimp with a spicy tarragon butter and garlic baguette roll... INCREDIBLE !! Can't wait to come back this summer :)

A seafood restaurant on Galveston Island. I had the grilled seafood plate w/fried oysters. The plate came with fish, shrimp and oysters. Along with grilled new potatoes (really good flavor) and coleslaw (ok, I guess, but I cannot eat raw veggies). The seafood Itself was cook ok, but was missing that fresh seafood taste. For this reason, I have to say it's taste was just mediocre at best.

Galveston has some AMAZING sea food!! Shrimp poboy was crispy and good! The order of fries were crispy best flavor ever! The sea food platter was a bit salty but very good. The potatoes were so good! The crab cakes had an authentic crab flavor. The boiled shrimp & potatoes & corn on cob were our favorite! I'm not for tarter sauce but this tarter sauce gad my attention & vote. The service was great, it gets busy in there, the service is very attentive. Parking is great.

Our family of 6 spent Thanksgiving in Galveston. Our last night in Galveston we ate at Bennos. Bennos provided fabulous, fresh seafood prepared perfectly! Very tasty & not greasy.

As a Cajun, this visit was very disappointing to say the least. I’m glad I asked what kind of fish was on the shrimp and fish platter because it’s Tilapia and $4 up charge for catfish. The shrimp were ok, crunchy but not seasoned and they didn’t taste like fresh from gulf!!!!!!, hush puppies were mushy, the crust fell off the catfish and there was a weird taste. Idk the fish was hard and flat, not like fresh catfish back home that is light and the crust sticks. No seasoning. Coleslaw was from a bag and had a pink tint, not too flavorful or fresh. Tea was cloudy. Maybe next time will be better. I remember a good shrimp poboy there years ago.

I had shrimp and fried oysters fries and coleslaw. Friend had fried oysters, red boiled potatoes and coleslaw. He didn't care for oysters. Manager offered to bring out something else for him, but he declined.

Recently ate supper here with the family. This place looks promising, but the food was highly disappointing. We had jumbo, jambalaya, fried shrimp and oysters. The shrimp and fries were the only things that weren’t bad, but also were not good! The jumbo, jambalaya and oysters were all terrible. Bad flavor, bad texture, stale tasting. The wait staff was polite and good, but unfortunately the food here just does not cut it… save your money and eat somewhere good!
