Cool spot to watch the boats and cargo ships go by. There was an entire line of them out last night. People fish here but I wouldn’t swim. There’s decent amount of parking. Relaxing spot if you need a minute to decompress and get off the beaten path while you plan your next move...or don’t plan one at all...

Great place to watch ships pass, to fish, sightsee, picnic, and just hang out. Lots of parking and panoramic views. No facilities.

It's worth a quick stop If you're in the area. Even better at the right time when you have multiple ships passing through. Other than that, the area is a bit rough looking, has some parking and appeals to folks fishing. There is a cool little sandbar beach area close to this which is worth checking out.

Nice area away from the busier parts of Galveston. People go here for fishing mostly. Not a swimming area, but you can sit out here and just watch the large boats go by.

It is a interesting view at the ship channel in a great spot to watch oats go by. The fishing there seems to be active but didn't appear to be very successful probably due to the high winds. I think a little more signage and developing the place a little would make it more fun but it was worth the drive out there.

Great spot to hang out and watch the ships come in and out of port. Cruise and cargo ships roll by. Check it out. Great scenery and fishing also.

This place is free. You just drive in and park. Lots of people use it to fish, and some just watch the ships pass through the channel. Its β€œmaintained” by the army core of engineers but they dont really clean it. I do wish people would be more responsible and not throw their trash all over the place. There is also a family of cats and a few raccoons that are all friends that live in the rocks near the parking lot, so you might get lucky and see them.

Wanted to reach this point of the island for me it was the wildlife that surprised me 5 cats living at this point then to my amazement 2 raccoons seemed to live here I had a cake in my bag and the joy to feed it to them was pleasure indeed

Great spot to watch big boats. We stopped here a few times at different times of the day just to watch the boats. We also watched birds, cats and racoons play and look for food

Great look out spot. Wonderful place to watch all of the vessels and cruise ships go by. Other people you meet there are kind and friendly. Many locals as well as tourists come here. I've visited Galveston all of my life and never came up on this place. Very relaxing spot with ample photo opportunities.

This is a place that I visit every time I am in Galveston. It is one of the best places to watch the cruise ships leave the port as they pass directly by you. There isn't a beach here, but if you make a right just before you get to the end of the road there is another road that takes you to the beach.

Fun spot to stop at for some local history. Great views of the bay and ships coming in and out. There was a guy fishing today that was very proud of his red fish catch. Free parking all around and some walking opportunities.

We decided to stop here on our Galveston vacation. There were lots of people fishing although it seems you either have to share your earnings with the residents of this spot or they'll steal from you (feral cats, raccoons, opossums living happily together). I got a kick out of people getting upset about this and loved seeing the wildlife so much, we went back during the day. The cats were still there playing in the rocks. It's a great place to see the ships, they can get pretty close here too. And we saw dolphins! I wish we had more time to spend there. Best time you can have for free. It's a lovely spot.

Located at the east end of seawall Blvd. It's a great location to see all of the ships entering and leaving the ship channel and the ports of Houston and Galveston. Really relaxing to sit and watch the ships along with the local fishermen enjoying their day.

Watch ships come and go into the ship channel. We were able to see the coast guard ship from the 1800's set sail to its next port of call. Parking is tight.

A nice little park with a plaque dedicated to the former fort. Lots of people fishing and plenty of dolphins hanging out in the cove. If you’ve got a moment, swing by and check it out!

A hidden gem. Straightforward road, adequate parking space, only a few local fishing hobbyists and tourists. See the huge ocean ships passing by. Fantastic place for site seeing and stay alone comfortably.

It's certainly a good spot to observe watercraft of all types and sizes sailing by in the water. You'll probably see some dolphins out there close to the shore as well. The old fort isn't there anymore, just remnants of the old foundation here and there.

Neat place at the end of the island to see the big ships out in the water. There were lots of birds, a few stray cats and not a lot of people.

Great spot to see the sunset and watch the tankers go by... Lots of trash around though.
