Deadmans Beach

👍 Hidden beach. Nice for swimming. The oil storage area was moved in recent times and looks a little like a nuclear plant! So for beauty it loses out to the liles of salthill but a quiet haven away from crowds. No facilities. People often mention beach, Galway,

Deadmans beach is real gem between Renmore and Galway city, difficult to find but worth the effort, clean and normally not to busy

Can be a bit muddy. But it is a nice and quiet place.

I love this beach, it is a hidden gem. It is a pity it is hard to gain access to it, not everyone is able to climb a six foot gate.

Fantastic beach hidden in Galway. Lovely for swimming. There are no facilities here like public toilets, public bins or life guards so be careful if swimming.

Small sandy beach located off the harbour. It can be accessed from the port beside the Galway City Sailing hub collocation of the Galway Sea Scout and Galway City Sailing Club hq. Alternatively you can walk from Renmore through the brush of the military grounds beside the pitch and put golf course. At times it may be accessible by vehicles. Used by Galway City Sailing Club to launch on Sunday morning, Saturday 3pm or Wednesday at 7pm during the summer. Nice area to chill and swim half tide to high tide, few rocks. Low water and shale at low tide, not great.

A lovely hidden beach to have more privacy or bring your dog. Good for swimming or relaxing or jogging. Friendly area.

Impossible to get to. The area is fenced off, and the walk maps suggests is through a "no trespassing" area.. The road is through the foul smelling industrial docks, so the walk wasn't worth it either.
