This place is big and with all the fine woodwork and details from the past. The are plenty of high tables at the bar area to enjoy their beers. The food is good. We had their fish and chips and bottled mixed berry cider. All good! The hot apple pie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream was the topping of the meal! Good place going and enjoying with friends and family!

The whiskey bar was amazing, we came for one whiskey and stayed for 10 because of Rory the barkeeper! Rory could tell us a story about each whiskey we tried. The music was of high quality. The drinks were amazing. Unfortunately the food was the worst of our trip, so avoid that at all cost! The nachos especially.

Recently, I had the pleasure of enjoying a hearty and tasteful breakfast at Skeff bar, following a recommendation by a resident of Galway. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the friendly and welcoming service of the staff. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and satisfied with my meal. One of the things I loved most about the Skeff Bar was the spacious and interesting interior. Although it may appear small from the outside, the bar is surprisingly roomy once you step inside. The decoration style is unique and captivating, with a nod to the history and tradition of the area. I particularly enjoyed the various artifacts and vintage photos on display, which added to the ambiance and charm of the space. But of course, the real star of the show was the food. My breakfast was cooked to perfection, with all the ingredients fresh and delicious. One of the things I liked is that the olace was packed with locals, giving me a feel of their local culture. Overall, I would highly recommend the Skeff Bar to anyone looking for a great meal in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. With its delicious food, friendly staff, and interesting decor, it's definitely worth a visit if you're in Galway.

We were on our way to a different place, but out of curiosity we checked menus along the way. And what luck we did, because we found pork belly on the menu. Went inside, were flashed by the sheer size and the pretty decor and ordered. Service took a little longer than in other restaurants, but it was well worth the wait. Both pork belly and chicken with black pudding were really special and tasty, the cheesecake of the day finished an amazing dinner for us. Will definitely go there again.

If you are looking for an amazing Bar in Galway. I highly recommend visiting The Skeff Bar. The food was amazing. and The Staff are all so professional, kind and genuinely care about their guests. The Full Irish Breakfast tasted delicious. I had such a great experience that I will return in the near future .Very clean Barand restrooms. This establishment rates five stars and more! It should be noted I am originally from Dublin Ireland and lived in the United States for over thirty years and served in the United States Marines all over the world. I definitely know a great bar from all my life experiences and travels all over the world. I definitely will return in the near future! A must visit if you are looking for great food. You definitely won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful pub, and a huge one with three different bars, plus a great outdoor seating. Plenty of on tab beers, drinks, cocktails. Food looked nice too. Fair prices, very busy place understandably.

Really enjoyed our experience here! The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great! I had the fish and chips and it was amazing! The only downside was the very long wait and lack of attentive service. Otherwise it may be worth a visit!

This is a fairly regular stop off for me, more so in the mornings than the evening. The decor is superb as long as you don't have a dislike of wood. There are some great, elegant touches that speak of some some antiquity so if you take the time to sit back and muse then you can find yourself wondering just exactly what those walls could talk about. The staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing seems to be too much for them. I had the full Irish breakfast during this visit with a pot of tea; a little early to be sampling a drop of the hard stuff. I left fully satiated. I will be back, no doubt. There are five bars here with stairways front and back of the main bar. A handy escape route if the other half manages to catch you here.

The caesar salad was just okay. The hamburgers were really good as well as the brown bread. The nachos were our favorite starter. We also got fish and chips which were good. I liked that they had a vegetarian burger because it’s hard to find.

Honestly a terrible experience. Especially being valentines night with my partner. First of all we were served by a Spanish waitress (nothing wrong with that whatsoever) but her English was extremely poor and she could not understand what we were saying and we had to repeat many times. Of course this came with its problems. we ordered 2 garlic breads to start, however we only got one, we asked again and 5 minutes later the other garlic bread came out…. But then not even a minute later our mains came out too, and of course even the fact we got our mains at the same time, one of the mains was wrong. My partner asked for no salad and asked for mash and chips with it, which was repeated back to us by the waitress. So had to be sent back. The mash was cold along with my burger which cheese wasn’t even melted on. Overall just a terrible experience. Very disappointed especially considering it was valentines night.

Loved the bar and the musicians were amazing!!! We really enjoyed our time at Skeffs. We stopped in for drinks and sometimes dinner. The service was great! The best part was their entertainment! They had the best musicians for the few nights we were in Galway.

Pub lunch was great, little slow out of the gates (we were there as their first tables, and time commits were missed a few times), but once they got moving the food came out quickly and was delicious (carrot soup was great); also cheers to the staff for sending us a free drink as an apology for the wait. The ambience is second to none, huge and cavernous space that has a unique blend of feeling historical yet modern. Highly recommend!

A really nice spot in the heart of Eyre Square to go for a drink or some dinner. Usually good service from friendly staff. Try the chowder or fish & chips! Reasonably priced, the kids portions are massive too.

Came here on bank holiday Monday and there was a band playing called Vicaria who were incredible. An extensive gin selection, try the method and madness gin or the Galway gin company. If you like a lager, try hop house. The building doesn’t look so unique from the outside but the architecture is so beautiful! The bar is giving titanic vibes. Loved the atmosphere here and the nachos were very tasty, too.

Guinness 0.0. Great to be able to have a proper pint of something when you're not drinking alcohol. Food was great here too and the service was fantastic.

Such a nice venue in a great location, and the staff are so lovely. The food is overpriced for what you get; got the fajitas and vol au vents in our most recent visit, they were grand but not worth 16.50 and 13.50.... Definitely a spot I would go to for a few pints.

  • 1/5 Claudette Le B. 2 years ago on Google
If you want a pint, probably OK, the food is definitely not how I remember it to be, it was glorified deli food, there's nothing wrong with deli food but the price and description advertises different quality than what you get,I had to give one star in order to contribute, but I would happily give none, as regards compliance to guidelines they were completely compliant,, but on future visits I won't return

Excellent set-up measures for covid 19 ! Perfect location and friendly staff. We went in to eat cake and coffee (the menu says Homemade desserts). The cakes were good but they tasted like Tesco, or from another large distribution. The cappuccino instead was very good. Very clean toilette!

Food was AMAZING the turkey and ham roast dinner looked amazing and I got a vegetarian burger

  • 5/5 Laura P. 2 years ago on Google
The food quality is immense; I’d go as far as to say that it overshadows the Italian cuisine.. I’d especially recommend the roast (the filling it’s amazing). And the pub itself deserves a visit: established in the 1850 it’s a piece of art! Full 5 stars.
