Lovely food and atmosphere here. Great outdoor area very sheltered and warm! The staff were friendly and food came very quick. The steak was cooked perfectly and over all a great meal. Would totally recommend if you're passing through Galway.

An Pucan is a great pub to grab a drink, have some food and plenty of fun. We stopped here for drinks and to catch some live music (both of which were great). There are plenty of drink options for everyone. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. It looks small from the street, but goes pretty far back and has a lot of space inside. I'd highly recommend stopping in and spending some time here.

We actually went here 3 times during our stay in Galway. Food was very good, servers were excellent and the atmosphere was as we would expect from an Irish pub - wonderful!! Highly recommended!!

Had the Irish stew twice in two days. If I hadn't left town, I'd probably have made it three. Big, fun pub with live music.

We popped in here for some drinks on Monday night. There were 2 lads singing and they put on a fantastic gig, so thanks for that. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend a visit.

This place isn’t in the Latin district, but it is very much an Irish experience! The food is phenomenal, and the service is better. The music at night was traditional, Irish, and it was top-notch! You can’t go wrong with this place!

Was recommended to come here from a friend who lived in the area. It was the best breakfast I've had since being in Ireland. Staff was very friendly. Prices are fair. 6 euro for eggs and toast and a great full Irish breakfast.

We can not understand if people give more than 3*** for this pub. The food was under the average...

Dropped in for a quick pint. It’s actually really large. If the front seems crowded keeping walking back. There’s and outdoor covered patio 3 rooms back that wasn’t busy at all. There’s an outdoor bar here as well as an indoor bar close by and table service.

We had a late lunch and a couple pints when we arrived in Galway. The bartender and wait staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were trying to dial in our beer and food choice and the crew gave us the overview and their recommendations. They were spot on - everything was excellent. I added a half dozen oysters and was not disappointed. Possibly the best pub in town.

Stopped in for a cup of delicious chowder and returned in the evening for Irish Stews and Mussels. The food is delicious and wait staff the friendliest.

We had a nice time here. Had a discrepancy about the bill which the manager was very thorough in looking into. I felt he did a good job of fairly taking care of both us as customers and his staff. Would give them another try.

Great friendly staff and atmosphere, without a doubt one of the best spots in Galway to go for a meal.

Great place for a cocktail. I ordered mojito and was nice. I could taste the run and other flavours such as spearmint and lemon.

Very disappointed with An Pucan, went for a meal for a friends birthday and they forced one person to pay for the entire bill and said they wouldn't split it. We explained that 400 euro for one person would be extremely awkward for us but they stated that, they can do it, but they won't as its their policy. Would never return again

Lovelly friendly staff - my elderly mother asked for a starter of muscles, a huge portion came. She didn't want chips but we still got charged for them. I ordered a main course seafood chowder but got a starter portion?? So I was still hungry. Butter with the bread was rock hard. My partner's curry very very spicy, but good. Guinness was great. Overall a good experience & would definitely return. Thank you

I used to come here for a sandwich and few cocktails and the service was normal. Monday i went there after 2 months with my boyfriend, we were served by a girl named Erin (?). Was the best service i ever had, she was so nice and she always smiles. The food was also so good, my salmon toast was incredible.

Great prices, great food. All staff members were super friendly and when we wanted modifications to our breakfasts (because... hangovers...) there was no problem or change in price. Nice decor—classic and a little offbeat without being overdone. Food was tasty, and the location was great. Highly recommended.

Good spot with live local music. Pints are good and it’s pretty big with a large outdoor area. Was very quiet when we were there which is why it doesn’t get five stars but would definitely come back.

Had some of the best mussels Ive ever had here, they were big massive fat ones compared to the mussels from the pubs in Dublin. My friend had a salad (which looked very nice for a pub salad!) and clam chowder which looked very nice too. The brown bread served with it was excellent 👌 They had live music on and they were excellent!

Our only night in Galway and lucky us - the two of us have found this pub right near our hotel. Traditional Irish pub, with great food, great beer, great live music and great service by the young, friendly, smiling waitress Katie !! We have truly enjoyed our evening here . Highly recommended .

Had a day 2 of a wedding here on a Friday night. Food was great, Area that we had booked was brilliant and a good size for everyone, and unbelievable value. Staff were great to deal with and helpful. Music and band excellent. Would highly recommend here.

Great pub with the most delicious food! The beer garden is a good surprise and made our night. We unfortunately arrived a little late and learned the kitchen closes at 20h00. Our beers, appetizers and food all arrived at the same time and some items were missing in our plates or wjthout dressing. Both the fish and chips and chowder was a hit.

From the outside looks just like a usual Irish pub, but when you enter you get surprised!! Huge place, great food, lovely and smiley staff. Our experience was amazing, I definitely recommend it.

Lovely experience here. There’s a great vibe and atmosphere along with fantastic food (the steak sandwich is a strong 10/10). The food was served in a time efficient manner and the quality was still excellent. The waitress was welcoming and quick to be of service. I would definitely return in the future.

(Translated by Google) Strong and tasty dishes in a varied menu. I recommend ordering vegetable soup off the menu. The hamburgers and nachos of ten. Helpful and friendly staff in a traditional pub atmosphere. (Original) Platos contundentes y sabrosos en una carta variada. Recomiendo pedir sopa de verduras fuera de carta. Great service, food and the new garden is lovely although I miss the smoking area. I have a mobility scooter and needed to charge it and the three members of staff Molly, Aifric and Saoirse were so efficient setting me up and made it all feel.like no trouble, even though we were busy, great team, highly recommend

This is a very lively pub for 11pm on a Monday night. They have live music, the crowd is lively, and a mix of all ages, tourists, and a few locals. Nice, private, and secluded booths to hang out in. The staff running the place were even kind enough to allow a group of tourists behind the bar for a photo opp, so they could pretend they were serving their own beer. Super cool! Unfortunately, last call is on Monday nights is 11:30PM. And they start flashing the lights on and off to get your butt to go home. Hey, I understand. The staff want to go home as well. All in all, a fun, RELAXED place to visit.

Such a relaxed atmosphere to this most brilliant bar, restaurant, music spot and their pints of plain are rather creamy. Easiest the best pub in the entire city.

Smoking area is nice. It's just an everyday traditional irish pub. Food is lacking salt and any flavour. Wayyyyyy overpriced. One starter, 2 mains and 1cocktail pitcher: 63euros. If you are looking for a nice night out with your friends this is not the place to go.

  • 5/5 BikerBicky 5 years ago on Google
Fantastic little pub with a great atmosphere and very pleasant helpful staff. Food is fantastic. Would recommend the steak sandwich. Traditional Irish music from a live band helped to give the place a very traditional welcoming feel.

I ate the crab's claws, the flavor was not expected, a lot of butter. Sorry about my opinion

  • 3/5 Ryan B. 3 years ago on Google
Really nice place for pints and all my friends enjoyed their food. The beer garden is really lovely if you get a nice day and even if you don’t there is great rain coverage. However, there really isn’t enough vegetarian/vegan options. There was one main and I didn’t really enjoy it however it was ambitious. Hence the 3 stars.

Having a lovely afternoon with our two Sons who live in Galway and then this rude girl slapped a notice on the table and it said reserved at 5-30. We had been at this table for about two hours, disgusted we left and went to Murty Rabbits bar a few doors up. Very pleasant pub and staff so welcoming. Food was delicious too. Won't be back.
