Great place to party… love the music here and the cocktails are great… I got the wild Atlantic way cocktail which was gin based if I recall right…

Great food and great pints. My group of five was greeted and seated very quickly. Our drinks came fast and they regularly checked if we wanted more. I fully recommend this pub to anyone looking for lunch and drinks

Amazing food. Really… the Roast was incredible. The bacon cheese and bacon fries was spectacular. Fish and Chips.. again amazing. You 100% will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Just watched Galway vs Kerry over a couple pints of Guinness. Not familiar with Irish Football, but incredibly exciting and the pub was filled with great people teaching me the game. You got to love the Irish people. Every aspect of the experience was top notch.

Beautiful pub, fabulous location, Guinness was great. Marred by the unfriendly nature abd can't be bothered attitude. Yes it was 1130 in the morning but the Irish charm and friendly appearance non existent!!

Unfortunately our dining experience was not the best. Ordered the brisket and it was tough as rock. A full grown rottweiler would not have been able to bite into it cleanly. Ordered the power salad, which was mostly beets and not much of anything else. The shepherds pie was very good and hearty. It was challenging to get a refill of a drink or the check at the end of the meal.

By far one of the very best meals we had during our 10 Day visit to Ireland. The ambiance is reminiscent of old world charm with its dark woods. The display of whiskeys was impressive. The service was warm, friendly and efficient. The food was definitely the high point. The Beef & Guinness Stew was rich in flavor, the Front Door Shepherd's Pie was also rich in flavor and cooked perfectly and served piping hot. The Traditional Fish & Chips was by far the best we'd had during our visit. The fish was delicate, seasoned and breaded to perfection and the accompanying mushy peas were full of flavor. The Soup and Power Salad was so fresh and flavorful and the portion size was very generous. The local brew...Galway Gold was full bodied. Our deserts were the perfect ending to a truly delicious meal and a pleasant dining experience. The Cheesecake was so light and fluffy and the vanilla ice cream was creamy and delicious. The Sticky Toffee was also very tasty and had just the right amount of sweetness. All in all a 10 out of 10!

Loved it. Service and ambience was super. I was experiencing a pub with food and drink for the first time. The food was good, but I love spicy one, but it was not much spicy. It might , because I ordered Irish dishes. Anyway loved it. Service was good.

The inside dining area is very pretty, which is why I gave this place 2 stars. We ordered the nachos and were extremely disappointed, to the point where we couldn’t even eat most of it. I also ordered the seafood chowder, which was bland and lacking in flavor.

Place looks nice and food was okay. I was expecting more from the staff (probably some teens working during the summer break), they brought stew first, forgot what soup did I order, didn’t know who should take an order…

This is a cozy pub in the heart of Galway city. If you want to get yourself a nice Irish stew this is the place to go!! I got a shepherd pie 🥧🥰🤤 and my friend got an Irish stew… both were delicious and the staff very friendly 👍🏻👍🏻

Stopped in for dinner after a local recommendation. We were sat in a rather cramped table (but it seemed rather busy and many tables were marked reserved). Pizza was…fine. Service was very good. Very fun atmosphere and eclectic decor…would be a very fun place to hang out with a group of friends. Went in to Sonny Malloy’s (attached whiskey bar) for a whiskey tasting after. Bartender was very knowledgeable and made good suggestions on whiskeys. The cocktail menu had some very cool creations and all of them sounded delicious. Priced rather fairly. Would recommend as a drink spot for sure.

Great vibe and interesting layout, lots of turns and corners. Very good price-quality ratio of the food. Really enjoyed the catch of the day, and the vegetable risotto was great. Excellent selection of cocktails and gins! (Can recommend the Wild Atlantic Way and Eat Me, Drink Me.)

Well, the restaurant is alright. Like the rest of the touristy centre of Galway it is kinda likable but above average at best. First, we had to walk around the bar passing reserved tables that did not fill up during our stay. The Catch of the day was salmon which looked suspiciously too pink to really be just caught. Hamburger was alright. As for prices, you can find cheaper places in Dublin. Like I wrote at the beginning - it was alright.

Lovely friendly staff, been a while since we have been in for food. It was delicious plenty of flavour and at great prices. I had the shepherd's pie, my husband had the peri peri burger he loved it and my 3 year old had the sausage and mash. She really enjoyed it.

I was with my lady friend Mary, and I knew she likes seafood chowder and me as well. As we walked along, a menu it caught my eye. So, I read on and thought we might as well get in and try the food inside.... Me and my friend, enjoyed the chowder. And hopefully, I will try another dishes. The staff are all friendly. The atmosphere is really nice and its warm inside. I love it. 👍🥂

Just about to leave this place. Pint is fine, staff are great but the music is at an absolutely intolerable volume, and will NOT be turned down. Eight customers in the Sonny Molloy bar. No great surprise, when they all have headaches and can't hear one another. The really ironic thing is - I like the music, but there are three of us and we can't have a conversation... Good night!

Was here twice over the last couple days. Drinks the first night and a meal (gorgeous halloumi burger) the second. Highly recommend. Not only were the drinks and food great. The lighting, mood and music could not have been better!

Food and our cocktails were ready very fast and my halloumi burger was absolutely delicious. The place itself is huge and very clean inside and the outside is heated which is always a plus in Ireland. Staff was quite busy and inattentive, but the experience overall was very nice.

We stopped by for lunch and knew already about the fame of the place. Safe to say we were not disappointed ! The food (we had 2 lunch specials) was absolutely gorgeous, fresh and carefully curated. The staff very attentive but not intrusive, the prices were reasonable and the music not too overwhelming! All in all very happy !

Excellent food, service (thanks Chevon) and atmosphere. We liked the Guinness stew over the Shepard's Pie but only by a little. Lively and family friendly. Get there early as it fill-ups.

  • 5/5 Sara 9 months ago on Google
While it's more popular for the evening, I enjoyed lunch here quite often. The food is good, the atmosphere is nice and since the place is big I always find a table. The Guinness stew is my choice when the dish of the day doesn't catch my attention.

Amazing bar - beware of one English bouncer who is very aggressively and gets physical including snatching phones from people’s hands. Amazing bar other then that one employee. Great drinks. Very fair pricing and quailty bar staff. Couldn’t fault anything other then 1 bouncer.

My favourite pub in Galway! Spacious, clean, and so warm even in a very cold winter evening. I enjoyed pints of beer watching a football match on a big screen TV. Very smooth 'Sonny Molloy's' Galway Irish Stout was fabulous!

Unfortunately no vegan options. As the only vegan in a group of 6, I was told that the chef was not willing to do anything for me me that they removed all vegan options due to COVID (reduces menu) and that they could not modify any main to suit my dietary requirements. I also was not able to bring anything in so that the rest of my group would not have to leave. We all ended up in The Dail across the road and it was fantastic - would highly recommend.

5 for all the good experiences....but be careful as I have had my coats stolen from here and recently had an unpleasant experience with a bar man who was not typical of the place in his condescension and rudeness. On the plus side the Guinness is mighty and it's one of my favourite places to go and watch a match.

(Translated by Google) Very wide choice of beer. Rather interesting menus. But above all the decoration is great, the bar is very large with corridors in every direction, there are outdoor and indoor smoking rooms on the first floor, etc. It feels like a fantasy film set. It is clearly the Galway bar where to spend Saint Patrick's Day and all its Friday evenings.

Came here on a Friday afternoon on a weekend trip from Dublin and couldn’t have had a nicer experience. The front of house staff were super friendly and efficient and looked after us really well. Delicious food (A+ Seafood chowder) and gorgeous cocktails. When we were leaving the security staff member helped us downstairs with our bags which is a small detail but didn’t go unnoticed. Highly recommend and will be coming back on future trips to Galway. Thanks guys!

Great place im from the US and this was one of the first bars in Ireland that we went to loved the atmosphere! But i went in may 2019 and i know this is a long shot but i ran into a man literallly ran into him and he was tall with orange hair and a beard lumber jack like and i just want to know who he was. Later that night he stopped my older sister thinking it was me but then my sister pointed to me we talked for like 3 mins, then my family was leaving and i left with out getting a name if anyone know him let me know!
