Great location as close to city center and lost of shops nearby. Staff were friendly and courteous, especially Lorena during check in. Breakfast was very tasty. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Excellent staff, the receptionist Mohammad was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Our bartender Sinbad made the best cocktail in Galway. Room was lovely but the location is a bit of a walk from center, not too bad tho, buses are nearby. Overall fantastic getaway

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The rooms are spacious and relatively updated, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and they offer free underground parking. The hotel is a bit removed from the city center, which allows for a quiet stay, but it is about an 8-10 minute drive to the heart of the city. So, I would only consider this hotel if you plan to have a rental car. To end on a positive note, there is a gas station immediately next to the hotel and nearby shops and breakfast spots just a 2-3 minute drive away.

Our room was great! The beds were so comfy to sleep in. Unfortunately, room service didn't attend to our room in the 3 hours we were out and when a cleaner finally got to it, she was in such an overwhelmed hurry. The breakfast was lovely. However, the baby high chairs were dirty the 3 days were used them.. tomato sauce stains and colouring marks. These should be cleaned all the time as kids feed directly off these.

Excellent room and service in a good location. Reasonably priced. Didn't spend too much time in the hotel as we were visiting friends, just had breakfast in the mornings which was awesome!

This hotel don't deserve 1 star. It has a convenient store attached to it that draws a bunch of undesirable people to lobby and around hotel. Pics online are far from what you will get in person. It's far from city center and nothing in room works and room was very dirty. Hotel is way older and not maintained well outside of a few touchups here and there. The staff are very rude and you'll get no service at the resteraunt. Hot items are cold to the touch on breakfast buffet. Dirty plates and cups is what you'll be served on. The entire property and all in it are a joke. No reply to any issues just ignore you till you checkout. I think the good reviews on here must be fake. Just look at the poor reviews that management don't respond to the only respond to the good reviews that are most likely fake. Everybody with a poor review of hotel has the same issues .

Lovely hotel in an excellent location. Rooms are spotless & cleaned daily, breakfast is plentiful. Staff are very helpful, the best of the best has been Lara at the front desk. She has welcomed myself and my kids as if we were family, I travel a lot and I don’t see this treatment often. I had stayed at the Maldron in Oranmore in the past, while it was the first time here in Galway and I must admit that this stay, especially thanks to Lara, has been much better. Had a brilliant stay. Would definitely recommend and would certainly stay here again!

We stayed in this hotel for three nights and it was lovely. There is a safe underground car park, and a bus stop and 24 hour shop right on the doorstep. It's a short walk into town and taxi's are affordable. The place is clean, so lovely and with comfortable beds and a fridge in the room. The staff are amazing, they went above and beyond good service and we were particularly impressed with Karen from the housekeeping team who treated us like family. You can see what a good team they all are and it shows in the service and in their attitudes. This was my first time in Ireland and I want to come back again when I have more time. I would happily stay at the Maldon on Sandy road again. Thanks to the whole team for a lovely hospitality experience.

First time staying at a Maldron hotel but I am definitely using them again. The room was extremely clean and it had an AC which was very useful as it was very hot when we stayed. The staff were attentive and helpful. Any questions I had, they were very helpful answering. Checking in and out was also very easy to do. The restaurant was very stylish and was a very good price. They were also fine for us taking our drinks to our room. The bathroom was spacious, though I did not like the smell of the soap that was in the room. Water pressure was good. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of plugs. There was also a petrol station our room so if we needed a soft drink we could go to them. We could not hear any of the traffic outside despite being over a petrol station and right by a road. Even though we were a little outside of the city center, it was pretty easy to get in and out of the city.

We stayed 4 nights and it was a brilliant experience. Everything from start to finish was excellent. The staff were so helpful, the bedroom was big and airy with air conditioning. Our breakfast was served at the table and there was no issue if you wanted more. We ate every evening at the outside tables and the food was fab. Very central for sight seeing

Well impressed with the underground complimentary parking but think it could have been more secure. The hotel was fully booked but we managed to get a lovely meal in the bar. The bar staff couldn't have been more friendly, professional and attentive. Would definitely stay again.

Overall great hotel, staff were so friendly and helpful. Food in the bar was great. Some felt that the rooms were too cold at night even with air in turned off (I myself didn’t mind). We stayed two night, great value for money. Would definitely stay again.

Overall this was a nice hotel. It would be nice to have washcloths and daily water in the rooms for guests that will be doing a lot of walking throughout the day. It isn't much, but really makes a difference. The wi-fi was very difficult to connect to both on my computer and cell phone.

We had a great over night stay. Room was comfortable and clean. Perfect for what we needed. All staff were lovely especially the main waiter on Friday night. The only thing I’d say is that it would be nice to be able to cast Netflix etc to the tvs and the breakfast was pricey for what it was.

The hotel, the room, food and the service of the front desk were great! However, our stay was soured by the service we received by one member of staff during our dinner on the second night. We were surround by Irish families and one other non irish couple near us. Us along with this other none Irish family were the only ones not asked how our dinner was despite the surrounding couples and families being asked multiple times if they were OK and if their dinner was of good standard, (the couple at the next table to us were asked 5 times and were visibly annoyed by how often they were asked). We were actually waiting for half an hour for someone to take our plates away from the main course and offered a dessert menu whilst again tables around us were aproached multiple times, the table behind us even engaging in a 10 minute conversation with said member of staff. Another member of staff finally approached and we ordered a pudding and highlighted his behaviour to her, she said that she'd speak to him (without her I think we'd be waiting until the restaurant closed). We don't know his name because after taking our order initially, he didnt aproach us again for the next 90 minutes!!! Apparently he hadn't realised he had ignored us! despite going to the next table multiple times and never turning to us. We can only assume he had a problem with our nationality being English. If this is the case the Maldron need to review their staff and the political agendas of their staff as there is no room for rascism within a hotel chain. We will not be staying here again purely based upon this utter rude, disgusting and unacceptable way of treating paying guests. Hanna was the name of the lady who finally approached us, absolute credit of an employee to the hotel,

The reception staff was very helpful and the rooms were clean and modern, however the breakfast choice did not meet 4star level at all. There was only a few selection of fresh vegetables (either cucumber or tomato but they were never both available at the same time). There was only one type of ham offered, the bread and fried eggs were constantly running out, it made a feeling of a very poor breakfast. I don't think I will chose Maldron Hotel for my next stay.

Yes. The young friendly man who waited on our table while we were having dinner on Sunday 10th December 2023. He was an excellent communicator, very efficient, very attentive and very capable. His happy disposition was transmissible. I treated my wife, for her 71st birthday, to a 3 night stay with dinner, bed & breakfast included. On checking-in on Sunday afternoon I explained to the receptionist, whom I never saw again, that the following day was my wife's birthday and asked if I bought a birthday cake could I leave it in the care of the hotel and have it brought to our table after diiner. The receptionist said that she would get a cake and also get us a nice table. She also offered to have a bottle of wine brought to our room which I declined. We had dinner on Monday and waited for the highlight of the day, ie the birthday cake, to arrive. We waited and waited with my wife asking "what are we waing for" but no cake appeared. I checked with the waitress but she was unaware of the cake and on her return from checking with reception informed me that there was no cake. Thankfully, I controlled my fury but not my utter disappointment. We had travelled from Sligo to celebrate my wife's birthday and all was going very well but then "BANG". It was akin to planning to see your football team play a very important match only to discover after travelling quite some distance that there was no football available. What a debacle. That was my experience and lasting memory of the Maldron Hotel.

Hotel was incredible. Service went above and beyond. Thomas D. and Riona at the bar were friendly and incredibly helpful with service and any questions my wife and I had. Definitely will stay here again

We had a lovely stay over the weekend. Perfect location with only a short walk into Galway City. Fabulous breakfast. Beds and duvets were has luxurious as other hotels but still comfortable.

Super close to city center, nice staff, spacious rooms. No complaints, only reason for not 5 stars is because the beds weren't super comfy, but I do love a super soft bed. Overall great stay, would stay again.

Had a 4 night stay here and I have to say that it was the worst experience I have ever had. Dining Room staff were lovely except for one or two who appeared to be in authority and are badly in need of customer relations training. The very young staff had no guidance whatsoever. We sat down at 6, starter at 7, mains at 8 if we were lucky. Food cold, raw carrots and peas each night. I was in a group of over 60 people. Breakfast was of poor choice too. This hotel boasts a 4 star rating which to my mind it certainly does not merit. I certainly would not be recommending this place to anyone. In my books a 1star hostel would do better. Your endeavours to do better are obviously just words. Give this place a miss.

The Maldron has always been a good choice for a very quiet, clean and reliable place to stay in Galway. The Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast and Dinners are excellent as well as the service. It's a short walk to all restaurants, pubs, shopping, bus and train station, tours and the Galway Market on the weekend.

A beautiful room and very comfortable bed with upscale linens. We slept well and the food in the dining room was excellent. A great place to stay for a weekend to spoil yourself at the breakfast buffet!

Ther receptionist on duty on arrival ( i din't get her name) was really helpful and friendly and even ordered the taxi to take us into town. We had dinner that evening and Thomas was so friendly and chatty. When we were checking out Leona was on the morning shift and even at the early hour was friendly. Well done to all

My wife made the booking Pros: - Good Location - Very Polite Staff - Very Clean - Plenty of parking Cons: - An hour after check-in a cleaner walked into our room without knocking to collect something they forgot. - In room dining was poor. Selection and food itself wasn't great. When we ordered, we went downstairs to collect it. Staff were confused when we arrived and we had to order it again. We were asked to come back in 10 minutes but staff apologized for everything and delivered it to room. - We weren't told that you had to put a sign outside your door for cleaning so our room wasn't cleaned. - Breakfast buffet was also poor. I found hair in my mushrooms and bits of egg shell in my scrambled egg. I've stayed in this hotel over the years and this seemed like a, "what could go wrong, went wrong". Not a great start for our first holiday since the outbreak.

Hotel room was clean and spacious. It is located 3 minute walk from Dunne Stores, Mr Price, Apache Pizza, Cafe and Paul Byron Shoes. It was actually very close to Galway Shopping Centre ....around 7 minutes walk too. Breakfast was handed up to you at your table. It was lovely and very nice selection to pick from. The bar staff were so helpful and friendly. Overall a very good place to stay. Will definitely be back.

Staff was nice and seemed to care. They offered gluten free food for me but didn't label properly saying they were out of tags πŸ™„. The risk of cross contamination was huge between bagels etc. After having the rice with vegetables, that they offered me for lunch as the only option, I got really bloated and had cramps until the next day. #coeliac

Great room room was very quiet great space for our family of 5 comfy warm beds nice bathroom room could not be faulted. Breakfast was good. But would have been better if there was a few more options like beans in the booked breakfast buffet . And a more kid friendly cereal in the selection like Coco pops. Loved that we could get coffee from the machine with hot chocolate for the kids at breakfast! Staff were incredibly friendly and so nice to the kids. Not one staff member made me feel the kids were an annoyance. The staff really are a credit to you. They make families with kids feel so comfortable.
