As someone who has worked in the travel industry for more than 10 years and traveled a lot and stayed in hotels very often, I must state that the location of the hotel is very good, the rooms are spacious and the leisure center is above the Irish 4 star hotel average. I would like to share my negative experiences as well, First of all, it is unbelievable that such a hotel charges 10 Euros per night to its guests in its own parking lot. Not a huge amount, but do they need it? I think they should reevaluate this. Anyway, the most negative experience we had at the hotel was about room cleaning. The toilet of the room we stayed in was not cleaned, the toilet lid was covered with dirt and the waste bin of the toilet was not taken. At the same time, we had to order the bathrobes and slippers because they were not available in the room. Actually, I wasn't going to write this review and I wasn't going to add the photos, but when I explained the situation after I checked out from the hotel at the reception, they said that they followed up with the housekeeper after my initial contact and the housekeeper said that the room was completely cleaned. So what I said was denied. I hope they were convinced when I showed them the photos. I think this is an individual experience, it can happen in all hotels, there is only a bad process management. To be fair the hotel overall is nice, location is great, but they need to be more sensitive about cleanliness and more responsive and proactive about process management.

Beautiful hotel, tasteful decor and a huge airy lobby. Breakfast was amazing , so much to choose from. Our waiter was so friendly and attentive. The rooms are basic , spacious and clean. The shower unreal. It's a shame that the door to the patio was kept locked because the view is nice and it would be lovely to sit and meditate for a while in the fresh sea air. Room services are not 4 star, basic kettle with Bewleys sachets kind of thing. The elmais products a nice touch though as is the water stations at the life with still, hot and sparkling options. Great location only a short walk to the centre.

We stayed two nights and had a wonderful time. The location was ideal, the rooms were comfortable, and the staff was hospitable and courteous. The room service was also excellent. Despite the fact that we had not yet eaten lunch or dinner, we had breakfast in bed twice, and I personally prefer cold breakfast to hot.

This hotel is a really nice hotel located just off Eyre Square. Accessible to everything. Lovely rooms, we had a fridge and got complimentary cartons of water and a coffee machine and all. Huge TV in the room as well. Really comfortable. The leisure centre and outdoor hot tub were amazing! The staff were very nice and accommodating. Only big downside to this hotel is the fact that you have to PAY for PARKING. We payed over €700 in this hotel between accommodation, food & drink etc, yet at check out we were still handed a bill of €9 per night for just simple parking the car. I personally think this is a really low blow from the hotel, if you’re going to charge high enough rates to customers, parking should be included/free. That would honestly turn me away from returning as I feel it’s just very unfair. Just unfortunate as there was nothing else to fault.

If you work out, stay at the Galmont! The gyms were modern with above average equipment to choose from. The rooms were also extremely modern, clean and comfortable. The bed was the best we’ve had and have been in Ireland at 4 other accommodations. We did not eat at the restaurant but it looked trendy and packed with people during a football game. You are walking distance from one of the most beautiful parks that head down towards what seems like a lighthouse. You can go for a run and clear your mind in the best way possible here. The Galmont is a total rest and relaxing hotel to choose from!

I would 100% recommend this hotel to others visiting Galway. The room was beautiful and clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. Also, the location was perfect what we needed. We were right next to the Galway train station, while also within a five minute walk to the city center.

Took my sister to the spa for a mini facial, back, neck and shoulder massage. We also had an hour in the thermal suite. It was so relaxing. And Chloe who did my treatments, was amazing! She was professional, she listened to what I wanted and she delivered. Thank you Chloe for making my experience so amazing. And to all the staff in the SPA you guys are absolutely brilliant and so friendly and helpful. A wonderful experience , so thank you all. 😊

Rooms were clean and comfortable, friendly staff and a great location for a visit to Galway. I had room service a few nights, it was quick and very delicious (though expensive). Also attended an event and found the events team to be excellent. Lovely little spa was a real bonus, I enjoyed the visit and would stay again. My only complaint is that the hotel hosts a lot of tour groups which often meant queues at the reception and noisy crowds in the hallways early in the morning.

Updated 7/28/23: I connected with the manager who was empathetic to our experience and worked with us to resolve our issues. Original post: Was excited for first Ireland stop in Galway. Debated on hotel and decided on Galmont (mostly due to high reviews). Checked in yesterday. Location is good, staff is ok. Room is dated and tired looking/feeling. Towels are threadbare and were dirty before we even used them. Hair was left in the shower from previous guest(s). We forgot our international adapters and were told by front desk they had none to loan. Seems strange for a 4-star hotel catering to foreign travelers. Also asked for new towels and was handed very worn, rough and threadbare towels by the night manager. Would have expected higher level of quality control when being handed them directly by staff. Wish I would have gone with the other hotel I was considering. Galway seems like a great city, I would suggest a different hotel based on quality, service and prices are high for what you get at Galmont.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Galmont Hotel in Galway and was impressed by the professionalism and hospitality of two staff members in particular: receptionist Shane and bartender Ignacio. Shane, who greeted me upon my arrival, was welcoming and efficient. He quickly checked me into my room, provided me with a map of the city, and gave me some helpful tips on places to visit during my stay. Throughout my stay, he was always available to answer my questions and went out of his way to make sure my experience was a positive one. His warm and friendly demeanor made me feel at home in the hotel, and I would highly recommend him to anyone visiting the Galmont. During my stay, I also had the pleasure of visiting the hotel bar, where I met Ignacio. He was an outstanding bartender who took the time to make sure that every drink he prepared was perfectly crafted. His knowledge of the different types of alcohol and mixers was impressive, and he was always willing to make recommendations based on my preferences. His passion for his craft was evident in the quality of the drinks he made, and his friendly and engaging personality made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I would highly recommend the Galmont Hotel to anyone visiting Galway, and specifically, I would like to commend Shane and Ignacio for their exceptional service. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made my stay at the Galmont a memorable one, and I look forward to returning in the future.

Fantastic food, service, and attention to detail for a special occasion. We had our sons' communion recently and would highly recommend for any occasion. We were delighted with the service from initially planning the event with the hotel to the day itself. Thank you and well done to everyone concerned.

The staff are so helpful and nice, nothing was too much trouble. They facilitated an early check in which was brilliant as I was graduating from college and wanted to get ready. The room itself was lovely, the bed was HUGE and very comfortable. Getting food was easy even though I am a ceoliac, the food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent. We'll definitely be back! Thank you!!

I just came here with my family for dinner. Food is excellent and reasonable value for money. The surroundings are very pleasant and relaxing and service was also excellent and quick. So, for a pleasant evening out with friends or significant other this is a fine place to go ☺️

Location is great, conveniently close to the train station and city centre. Our room was spacious, our bed was super comfortable and we had a nice view of the sea. Breakfast was delicious with many different options. The only thing that was missing were power sockets near the bed, also it would be nice to have USB sockets as well.

Spent 2 nights B&B and evening meal package. Very nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Air conditioning in the bedroom didn't work, and there was no free room available to move to. However, we were given an upgrade the second night to a beautiful room with a balcony and air conditioning.

Good business like hotel, clean and new with nice rooms and views. But a bit out of the way from the main square so area around the hotel itself is very quiet. Only a few minutes walk though so not too bad.

I've absolutely nothing negative to say about the place. We've been here a couple of times now and it's been lovely each time. The staff have been friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and modern and the food was tasty. We'll stay again!

We started out with a wonderful waiting staff. We ended up with someone else. He was rude and ignored us until I flagged down another staff member and asked for our bill. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful.

Location is great but i feel this was once a great hotel but has gone downhill. Its in need of a lick of paint, the corridor carpets look dirty they are so faded and old. The bathrooms are dated and need upgrading, the silicone seals are turning black. I didnt sleep till after 4am beacuse of the heat in the hotel- and i had no radiator on in the room. You have to walk miles and get 2 elevators to even find your room. Location is the only thing that makes this hotel worth the price as it's on the expensive side compared to others.

A good hotel in a perfect location. The only downside is the hotel bar - Coopers bar. Service here is well below average. It's like they try to do anything else but serve you. Especially the barman with a beard and tattoos. Watched him ignore patrons like it was his job. If you're worried about having too much to drink, come here. It'll never happen. Shame, as the rest of the hotel is very nice.

We Stayed here two nights, great hotel, great location! The rooms were well appointed, clean and spacious. Everything worked as it should. We had breakfast both days. It was buffet style. There were plenty of both hot and cold selections. They had the typical hot items like scrambled eggs, ham / bacon, poached sunny side up eggs, haggis & black pudding, and such The staff were helpful, courteous and attentive to our needs.

The Galmont was such a great place to stay in Galway. It is a 5 minute walk or less to the train station, which was so nice considering we saved a lot of money not taking a cab or bus from the train to the hotel! It is close the to the town square where there are some pubs and shopping, and just beyond the square is the Latin Quarter which was the highlight of our time in Galway. I don't think we walked more than 15 minutes to get anywhere from the Galmont Hotel and Spa. Staff was very friendly, the add-on breakfast was delicious (it does get very busy at times), and the bar had great drinks and awesome food. The main restaurant had delicious food for a nice evening staying in. We did not try the pool or spa, but by the looks of many people carrying towels or in robes, it seems to be used regularly. The room was nice, bed was comfortable, and the room had climate control. Depending on which side you are facing, there are some great views of the town or the water. We would totally stay here again due to its proximity to the train station and the nightlife!

Rooms were fine, good facilities. Did see a hair in one of the glasses in our room after I had poured a drink, but no issues beyond that. The beds are comfortable, decent bathroom. Great location, quiet despite being right beside the bus station, and right beside Eyre Square so Shop Street is very close by also.

It's nice but for the price you pay you'd like to get more included. Parking was extra, breakfast was very basic, charged for bathrobes to go to the leisure centre, lockers and swim caps all extra. Vending machines on our floor didn't work and the diet coke from the bar was quite expensive compared to the ones in the vending machine we couldn't buy.

Overall hotel is well appointed and in a good location. Rooms are modern and fairly comfortable (note that AC turns off after being on too long through the evening). Most disappointing feature I'd like to share for people's reference is the "realistic" view from rooms (refer to picture). Loch facing rooms are charged extra, yet in actual fact you're on top of a car park and extremely busy road. Traffic noise is highly disruptive and consistent throughout the entire day and night.

We stayed here for a couple of nights for my wife's 50th birthday celebration with our wider family. The hotel itself has a great location, near Eyre Square, train station and easy access to Shop Street. It's modern, spacious and easy to get around. Our room was lovely, on 5th floor overlooking Lough Atalia. Bed was very comfy. Bathroom huge with separate bath and shower. Restaurant was wonderful and food amazing. But what really made our stay was the team, the staff. Everyone of them were helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I have to single out Michael in the Marinas restaurant. He is a superstar. Thank you for an amazing visit. Highly recommended.

Although we had a room with a view & the location was great .. we had a “just ok” stay at the Galmont. The hotel was a busy hub and we prefer something quieter & more quaint. Hot tub in the spa was relaxing but steam room not hot enough. My husband loved the Buffett breakfast. So many choices!!! I prefer the intimacy of a family run B&B and in Ireland you can get that!! Had a good brisk walk around the lake & that suited me!!

My Mum and I had a great stay at the Galmont. We were visiting from Australia. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was great, and our room was clean and had a fridge which was fantastic. The day spa at The Galmont is beautiful I highly recommend spoiling yourself and having a treatment there it's Amazing.

Updating : The Manager make an effort to revert the situation and did what he could to help. He was caring and professional... its a pitty a manager alone cannot hold a 4 star rating by himself. He will Probably be hired by another hotel soon as he seem to be exceeding everybody else That I interacted with. I would only go back here or recommend If I knew the entire staff was trained to the same level and the hotel upgraded to actually reach 4 stars standard

I would definitely come back. The spa was lovely, specially the bath tub facing Galway Bay. The gym is a bit small though, but has all the amenities needed. I would highlight the breakfast buffet, food was lovely and the staff was so pleasant and helpful, specially Juan who looked after us during our whole stay and helped my elderly mom with the plates. Would definitely come back here!

Really enjoyed our stay at the Galmont. The location is great, a bit quieter than some of the hotels on Eyre square or the Latin Quarter. My only issues were the window didn't shut tight, so there was a bit of traffic noise and the shower didn't drain great. I mentioned the shower to the front desk but it was not addressed unfortunately.

We had a wonderful little stay here, taking advantage of one of the deals advertised on their website. We couldn't have wished for better service and the staff were fab (special shout out to Carl in the bar, Jennifer in the spa, and Clodagh on reception)! A small heads up that when you go for a spa treatment use of the thermal suite is an additional 10 euros (this is where the steam room, sauna, heated lounges are) but this is well worth it. My massage was fantastic and our dinner was unbelievably good - they have merged the bar food menu and Marinas menu for the time being while the restaurant is closed in the evenings.

We had some issues with room 192 on Friday 10 November. It was disappointing because it was our first night away from our kids in 2 years. The hotel itself, the foray is stunningly decorated for Christmas with a good breakfast and staff do seem very nice and friendly

The nicest hotel we stayed at during our adventures in Ireland. The family room was so spacious - perfect for a family of four. The room was clean and well-appointed. The staff was so friendly and went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. The hotel is walking distance to so much in Galway. You really can't beat it. We look forward to staying here again.

Stay was great. Everything was near the hotel. The spa was a nice treat. Our beds were so comfy, we slept really well. View was also nice. Only complaints is we never got to get into the Jacuzzi cause 4 people were hogging it up for almost an hour. We complained but nothing was done. Also we had a nasty rug stain and a piece of chocolate sitting by the bed. We purposely left it there to see if our rooms were properly cleaned. Yet every night the same sticky stain, and chocolate sat there. Despite asking to clean the room with a cleaning employee, the stain and chocolate remained. This did not affect our stay, everything else was pleasant, which is why I'm sticking with the 5 stars.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for our anniversary and we couldn’t fault the hotel at all. All the staff were lovely & helpful. On arrival we were told we had been upgraded to the superior king room. The room was amazing and very clean, it even had a balcony. The spa and pool were great also. Only thing we were upset about was staying just one night. Will definitely be back again for a longer stay!

At first glance, this hotel seems like a great experience. The lobby is very modern, and styled as such. However, the longer we stayed here the more things seem to be broken or damaged, these are small things with little overall impact but they add up. All of the employees are great, never had a bad experience with any of them.

The decor of the hotel was gorgeous, rooms are lovely. Unfortunately the staff are just all over the place. Expect major delays in the most simple request. Avoid Coopers food food - not good. Marinas restaurant on the other hand is a 10/10. Phenomenal. The Spa is the best part of the hotel. The staff were incredible, the amenities are great although it’s slightly over priced. To be fair when things went wrong management acted quickly and made it right. I would visit again.

Gorgeous hotel, great location. The staff were all so friendly despite being very busy. Parking for the night was €8. The spa was nice but the changing room situation is a bit weird, you have to go up to the gym to change and pay €1 for the locker, so lots of traipsing around before you can relax.

Went on a 2 night vacation to the Galmont. Overall it's a good place, but I didn't like the following. 1) We booked a king size bedroom. The bed was actually a 2*double bed and so huge. 2) The bed didn't have a headrest. The wooden back was actually the headrest which was soo annoying. 3) The bed had only 4 pillows which were not comfortable. 4 star hotels are known for having comfortable pillows but this didn't. If you enjoy a good rest/sleep, on a comfortable bed then I wouldn't recommend Galmont. On a positive note, staff was exceptional and very friendly(especially breakfast staff), indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi were great.

Stayed for two nights in a seaview room. The hotel is beautifully decorated and our room was spotless. The views from our room was stunning. The hotel is walking distance from Eyre Square. Parking is paid, but hotel guests receive a reduced rate. We had afternoon tea for two and would highly recommend it to others. The treats were delicious and there was a great selection of teas. Spirit One Spa is also a must if you stay here. Would absolutely recommend to others to stay here and will definitely return.

Very relaxing stay here for the bank holiday! Staff are excellent and coopers bar and food is sensational. Spirited One spa was the particular highlight with the thermal suites but the general ambience of the hotel puts you at ease, being away from the hustle and bustle of the Galway night life yet not too far that if you wanted to join it was a trek

We stayed here three nights on a breakfast and one night dinner package. The beds are very comfortable with good linens and towels. They need outlets on both sides of the bed though. It’s frustrating when you can’t plug in next to the bed. We didn’t have time to try the spa but we did eat breakfast there each morning in the Marina which is also where we had Easter dinner. Food was average and a little overpriced . Breakfast wasn’t until 8am. We wouldn’t recommend the breakfast package as there are many cafes nearby. It’s expansive and we don’t eat enough to make it worth it. We also ate dinner and had drinks in their Coopers bar and lounge which has a separate dining area. The hotel Is expensive but it was nice. I think that makes more sense if you want a spa type holiday where you use more of the amenities. If we were to replan our holiday we would have only stay here one or two nights and stay in local places as we drive the coast. Just depends on what you are looking for

Very nice accommodations.Fast and easy check in. Very nice and convenient in house restaurant serving up a great pizza as well as other snacks dishes. This is a great place to use as your home base while checking out the Cliffs of Moher. I do want to warn you the R roads in this neck of the woods are no joke. You will need a nice stiff drink once you get to the hotel. Don't try one before or during the trip. Cheers!!

Beautiful hotel, 10/10. Staff are handpicked, so helpful and professional and really dedicated to providing a high level of service at all time. Only issue, not enough staff at times. Long waits for food, drinks ect . Breakfast is very good probably the best hotel breakfast I ever had. Typical buffet style, help yourself. But, they also have a menu, with lots to choose from. All in all, a lovely hotel .

I could not find fault with the hotel. Best location. Beside train station minutes to eyre square. Very welcoming staff. All staff were friendly helpful nothing too much trouble. Even at breakfast when the had 400 guests to cater for. If your going to Galway it’s the hotel. Rooms recently renovated. Excellent spa.

Spent two nights here and had a brilliant time. Upon arrival we got a very unexpected upgrade to the top floor executive room. The room was massive and also had a full length balcony with a beautiful view of Lough Atalia and out to the bay. Breakfast was really good, plenty of choice and a help yourself buffet. We also had dinner as part of the package. We couldn't eat the desert as we were totally stuffed after the starter and main course. Staff were very helpful. Really enjoyed our stay here and it's a great location as it's only a few minutes walk into town.

I’ve stayed here a few times now and I’ve never been disappointed. The hotel is easy to get to, has car parking & a short stroll has you in the hustle & bustle. Our bedroom was a huge corner room with views of Lough Atalia. The bed was massive with pillows that you sunk into & a fabulous duvet that hugged you - bliss! The Thermal Suite in the Spa was so relaxing, the heated beds sent me to sleep after my massage. I has asked for a deep massage from Jennifer & that’s what I got. Throughout the hotel the staff are very friendly & knowledgeable. I’ll definitely be back again.

This was one of our favorite places to stay on our entire weeklong Ireland trip from the United States. We ask for a three person room and got a king size bed and a full size bed. The rooms were incredibly big. The staff was super nice. The hotel and the rooms and the grounds were extremely clean. The location is not that far from all of the shopping and dining that you could ever imagine. We walked down to the area for food and shopping. It is in Easy walking distance of the king's head Pub, which is all you need to know.

Located a quick hop and jump from Eyre Square this is a great location. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. Service was slow in the bar but if tour not in a hurry that is fine. The staff are accommodating and friendly. When the air conditioning did not work in our first room we were upgraded to a larger room with no cost. Very happy here.

We were very happy with this hotel. Great location, easy to walk to from the bus or train. Excellent choice of restaurants, friendly staff, well equipped gym and spa. Rooms are well equipped and have everything you need. The sea view is worth it. Lovely sunrise every morning.

My daughter and I had the most amazing day on Saturday in the Spa. We got two treatments each and were told we could stay as long as we wanted, in the relaxing rooms ( fresh fruit, tea and biscuits all complementary), the large indoor pool, the out door hot tub, sauna and my favorite the beach suite. I would highly recommend this Spa. I been to 5 star spas and I can tell you this was the best experience and service I have every got. All the staff were so professional and so nice and kind. They could not do enough for you. We were meant to go for two hours, we stayed for four and had the best mother and daughter day! I will defiantly be back!! Thank you all and especially Jade, it was such a relaxing treatment and your brilliant at what you do!

Comfortable and reasonably sized rooms. Great service at the front desk, they were able to accommodate a late change in my planned stay. Food in restaurants surprisingly good. Only downside is ac in room cuts out overnight leaving you too hot. Great location close to old town Galway. Id come back...

Lovely hotel we enjoyed our two night stay at The Galmont. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms we had a view of the sea. Walking distance to everything in the city. We didn't have dinner but the breakfast was very good plenty of choice couldn't fault it. We used the Leisure Centre once it was fairly limited. Jacuzzi wasn't working nor was the steam room. Outside hot tub was nice but again not working properly which was disappointing. Overall a good experience if a little overpriced. Would consider staying again on next visit to Galway.

This ultra modern hotel was wonderful for a two nights break. The service was friendly and efficient apart from breakfast. The restaurant for the self-service breakfast was busy .Tea and toast should be served to the guests' table . The breakfast staff need basic training. Use a tea pot for tea and a coffee pot for coffee. Food. Stalks should be removed from mushrooms before they are cooked . Sausages need to be cooked thoroughly. Fried eggs should not be overcooked. The breakfast food and operation was not managed . 😕

I have visited Galway many times but my recent stay in the Galmont was my first. Overall our stay was ok, service at the front desk is good and the location is ideal for walking to the centre of the city. However we were quite disappointed by the standard of the room. At approx €330 per night the room we got was quite basic. It was clean but dated with a tight, basic bathroom space. We needed to take 2 separate lifts to get to the room from reception. The shape of the hotel means that many of the rooms face onto the U-Shaped hotel entrance way. This means that if staying in these rooms you will clearly hear nosier guests returning to the hotel at night. There also seems to be a smoking area for the main function room near the reception entrance which also created at lot of noise for us ater 1am. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evening but did get the breakast on the first morning. The buffet breakfast itself was very average with your standard fry up. Communication from the staff about what the breakfast arrangement entails was also very poor. I appreciate that inflation and other factors have resulted in price rises across the industry. For me this trip was a lesson to shop around and do a bit more research to make sure you get as much bang for buck as possible
