If you book via a 3rd party website there is a charge of €3 per hour/€15 per day for parking. If you lose your ticket as a guest, you have to pay for parking. If you go there for drinks and leave your car there over night you have to pay for parking. The messaging isn't even consistent through their own website. with their FAQ saying its free What type of manager thought this was a good idea. Note below taken from their website (https://www.salthillhotel.com/dining/amber-prom-restaurant-galway/) Kindly note, we have launched a new complimentary car parking system to ensure our guests have access to spaces during their stay. It is available to residents who book their stay directly with the hotel, however, if you book via a 3rd party website there is a charge of €3 per hour/€15 per day. For our wedding guests it is complimentary and for Ocean Fitness members they have 3 hours free access. Food and beverage customers will receive up to two hours complimentary parking. After two hours, it will be €3 per hour. Please retain your hotel receipt to validate your parking.

I stay four evenings at the Salthill will visiting Ireland recently. It was only supposed to be a two night stay, but I just thought the mixture of Galway being the great city it is, with the facilities of the Salthill being as great as they were, that it made more sense to stay in a place that I felt truly comfortable in. The beds: amazing. Perfect blend of quality, and not too soft. The staff: super friendly and accommodating The facilities: the gym was AMaZING. For the gym alone, I would stay here again. The rooms: spacious and sound proof! The cleaning staff: excellent! The only down side for me was the food. The breakfast was pretty bland. Canned pears for example. Toast and Tee only upon request. Coffee had to be paid for. Not a lot of variation beyond the typical English breakfast.

Best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff here are absolutely amazing and were willing to do anything in order to make sure that our stay was the best it could be. From the air conditioned sew view rooms, the amazing food in the restaurant and bar, which also overlook the sea, to their amazing pools. This is definitely a place I would recommend to anyone, given that the price was fast more reasonable than a lot of other hotels in the area, and that I would love to stay there again.

We are just back from a fantastic weekend at Salthill Hotel. We stayed in a family room which I can't rate high enough! Four of us in the room 2 pillows each, soft comfortable pillows it was like sleeping on a cloud. More than enough towels provided. Complimentary bottles of Ballygowan water and tea/coffee with little mints. A fridge in the room along with free WiFi. We had a package stay which consists of dinner on one evening. The food was so good we went to the hotel the following night and paid extra for the food. The staff for breakfast were amazing and made freshly baked pancakes every morning for my sons. The pool was a great experience, lovely and relaxing and my 6 year old really enjoyed his little swims. The cocktails in the bar were out of this world and not too expensive. Thank you to Salthill Hotel and all the staff for making our stay absolutely wonderful. We will definitely return 💞.

Planned on staying there this Saturday March 4th, 2023 for a function nearby. Check in was quick and that's where the 4star experience ended. Our Room 411 had nothing but issues with the door card reader. We kept going back to reception and nothing worked, different keys, change batteries, nothing worked. After the porter opened our door using the master physical key through the contact reader he said other rooms had similar problems and he had made management aware before. On our fourth and final attempt the on duty manager came up to see the issue and watch the porter unlock the reader with a manual key, we mentioned we wanted a different room and did not want to be charged because of all the inconvenience and hassle of the day. He said the best he could do was to offer us a better rate. We responded that why should we paid for all the lost time and effort we had gone through already because of an issue with the room that had nothing to do with us? He refused to comp us a room for all the hassle so we left vowing never to come back again. A real manager would worry about the 4-star reputation over one rooms revenue for one night. As usual its always about the money never the guest. I hope all you reading this think twice and if you do wind up booking, please stay away from room 411 at least. The porter did mention there were other rooms like ours as well.

Very helpful and friendly staff through the entire hotel, from front desk, cleaning services to breakfast waiting service and kitchen staff. Spacious and immaculately clean room with top class bathroom incl. walk in shower. Delicious, fresh and plentiful breakfasts. Fresh water available 24/7 in the main hallway is a nice touch in times when everyone carries water bottles. Coach pick ups from right outside the doors is a plus on a rainy day. Lovely walk to the city center with salty, sea breeze facial for free :) Plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs within 10 min walking distance. Stayed there for a second time and will definitely be coming back again anytime I'll be visiting Galway.

I am absolutely horrified by my stay at the Salthill Hotel recently. Bar food was disgusting. Service was horrendous. My mum had to walk to the bar herself to get a menu. Chicken burger was horrible and the coleslaw that came with it was sour. I ordered tea and instead of getting a tea spoon for stirring, I got a wooden coffee stirrer which was brought to my table on the saucer. The room was smelling of body odour and mould. I had a seaview room with a balcony, had paid extra for this but you couldn't see the beautiful views as the windows were so dirty and worse still we were told at reception that we would not get keys to open the doors for additional air. We were told they only open those doors once a week. The head of housekeeping does all that and has keys. The balcony and windows were filthy. They are not cleaned regularly. Our en suite was smelly and there were stains on the radiator and around the door. The bed linen was musty and I woke the next morning with bites after itching most of the night. I am going to see my doctor today. Reception told me that they have not had them in a while and that they come in on cases. Bed bugs are clearly something of a regular occurrence in this hotel. Breakfast was cold and disgusting. Too many staff with poor hygiene and no manners. This hotel stay was by far the worst experience I have ever had. It needs a full inspection and I without doubt will be contacting health and safety after a visit to my GP today. I was charged for my one night stay at the hotel. I did get some of my money refunded after speaking with the manager but I find it mind boggling that I had to pay to put my head down in a bed where I got no sleep and itched my way through each hour of the night. I only gave it one star so that Google would enable me to post the review. I booked for two nights and could only stay one as it was so bad. I just needed out of that place. I was very upset upon leaving. What was suppose to be quality mother daughter time in a beautiful location turned out to be an experience that we will never forget. We will never be back in the Salthill Hotel.

Solid location for getting the best out of Galway. Hotel is extremely comfortable and the leisure centre is a nice addition The bar is great for drinks but the food is really not great and the staff could do with a bit of training. They all seemed very busy all the time but none of the busyness seemed to be around serving customers. At one point took 20 minutes to get attention and a pint despite the bar being pretty empty. First world problem as well but...the TV's in the room could do with updating and maybe doubled in size.

Other guests slamming doors shut after midnight perhaps something could be done to reduce the sound of this. Lots of young males serving breakfast with little attention to guests' needs for example my mother is gluten free and had to wait ten minutes each morning for gluten free porridge which was like paste. Her gluten free toast and tea was brought ten minutes before porridge after that the waiter would disappear and forgot the toast for the non-gluten free person. Each morning my breakfast was eaten by the time toast arrived. Waiter could see my 81 yr old mother was weak on her feet with slow walking pace but yet chose on the second day to direct us to a seat at the very back end of the restaurant. When we arrived to room previous guests luggage was still there. Hotel staff lacking in attention to detail and guests needs. Bar does no snacks like crisps or nuts. Room door cards wouldn't work. Big difference in service today than four years ago and previous years. Although the staff on desk in Leisure centre were extremely polite and efficient.

For a 4 star hotel amenities are pretty low standard. Room sink doesn’t drain because stopper is smashed into sink, show head is something you see at a holiday inn business trip, sink is separating from wall because caulk is all messed up. It’s a hassle to get robes, swimwear is not provided for steam shower, it says spa on google search amenities but when you arrive it’s just a steam shower and sauna. Location is good The bar staff are amazing. The people changing out sheets and stuff are sweet. Quality people.

We had a fantastic couple of days in Salthill Hotel. The location is great for the promenade walk and its about a 30 minute walk in to the city but its a lovely walk. The bar is really nice and the staff were very friendly. The pool is lovely and they have a nice gym set up. They also seemed to have a swim class for small babies which looked like great fun, our baby was just too small at the time. The brunch option for an additional €7 in the morning is a must!

The location itself is great! You have the beach across the street and the staff are friendly! It was always nice to go to the beach and relax after having breakfast! There are nightly bands and music playing so it was interesting to hear a local sing a song and try not to have an Irish accent! Regardless, I loved everything about this hotel. There is a park right next door to this hotel and there are stones from around the world that have a connection to the local areas. Only downside…. Not a lot of parking spaces and the spaces are all small. If you have a bigger vehicle or a more American vehicle (Honda CRV and such) it’s a tight fit into the spots. This goes for all spaces in Ireland, but I will be going back!

Great central location , directly across from beach. Large spacious rooms , friendly engaged staff. Full service leisure center , with Olympic size, pool, sauna, and gymnasium. Good selection of food at the all you can eat breakfast in the morning however, staff can be a little bit chaotic.

Expensive and poor service. We had a meal in the bar and it was possibly the worst meal this summer. The white wine was warm, the coke zero (not zero). The chicken in the burger was overcooked and of poor quality, the chips were standard frozen chips. For €18 you expect better quality food and better service

Spectacular location. We stayed here a few times. Rooms on the 4th floor are much more updated than on the first floor. We had a room with a full ocean view. Beautiful walks, and their garden is pretty spectacular. We had a breakfast at the buffet, which was really good: from fresh pastries, traditional Irish breakfast, a good verity of fresh fruit, to smoked salmon, verity of cheeses and cold cuts. The hotel team was very helpful: from concierge, to housekeeping to restaurant staff

Very spacious rooms extremely comfortable beds with excellent views of Galway bay. Could do with a larger bin in the family room and a bigger kettle! Great pools to go for a swim. Large bar with great selection of drinks. Didn't eat in the restaurant but the bar menu is a little underwhelming. Very pleasant staff. 2nd visit and will return again.

The hotel is very well located on the promenade in Salthill. The rooms are clean and well fitted out with a kettle, iron, hair dryer. The food in the restaurant is good. The hotel is friendly and has good service. It is not expensive.

On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Peggy who was absolutely amazing, we had found the hotel on line but couldn't book at that price because of connection but after abit of time she managed to get us a price close to what we had found. Outstanding.

We got married at this hotel during the Pandemic (Oct 2020) and I do have to say we had an amazing wedding! The food was delicious, staff was so great! We cannot express enough how happy we were with our experience. We definitely recommend this hotel. With genuine thanks Mr & Mrs Fitzsimons

Large modern hotel with good views of Salthill and Galway Bay. Large bars, restaurants and function rooms. Spa and gym also available. Signage within the hotel could be improved, as it is easy enough for a stranger to get lost. Comfortable bedrooms. Nice breakfast. Pleasant and helful staff, especially the young woman from Spain. There are pay parking machines and signs in the car park, but the barriers were permanently up during my stay. So parking was free. No complaints.

We return here on a yearly basis as it ticks all of our boxes. The rooms are very comfortable, and, if you are lucky enough, have gorgeous views out over Galway Bay. Breakfast is delicious with a huge amount of choice to cater to all tastes. The staff are always very obliging and efficient t. The bar is lovely for food, atmosphere, and even a bit of live entertainment at times. The car park is small but they do have underground parking also. A lovely spot

Unfortunately we could not get parking on site, and had to park across the road, on the side of a main road which was not ideal. Also our room overlooked only the inner hotel building/ rooftop and windows. Would recommend requesting a room with a view!

We had a booking for my daughters Communion lunch here for a small group, unfortunately the reservation team somehow missed our booking but made arrangements to accommodate us and from there on they made sure that we were well looked after. Food was delicious more over very friendly dinning staff.

Really nice hotel to stay in. Staff couldn't do enough for us and service was great. Polite but not invasive. Great menu for vegans vegetarians and flexitarians. Right across from Salthill beach...literally 5 minutes walk. Walking distance to Galway city centre. Our room was very nice and great room services. Highly recommended

Very nice hotel, we stayed as a group and the staff did their best to fulfill all our requests. The rooms are clean and spacious enough, with comfy mattresses and quality bedding, spotless bathroom. Can't mention enough the sea view, it's fantastic! Very good food in the restaurant and the waiters are quick. Great pool facilities with a large pool for families and a separate 15 m pool for lane swimming. Would definitely return here when visiting Galway.

Had my daughter's First Holy Communion dinner in the hotel yesterday and we had a wonderful time. Pauline and all the staff were so helpful and made our day so special. Our meal was just perfect and everyone was so happy. We had the perfect day and I will be booking again for my son's confirmation in a few months. Thank you Pauline and everyone 👋👋👋

Excellent stay in Salthill hotel. Perfect location, right in front of the promenade, with an easy access to the Bay of you want to do open waters swim. If you want to walk into Galway, it's about 20-30 minutes. A taxi ride takes about 10 minutes and costs €10-15. The pool facility is very well maintained, it looked new and there is plenty of room even if it's busy. We got a seaview room which was well worth it. The room itself was very spacious with a super-king size bed. The breakfast is an all you can eat buffet with great options. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We ate at the bar the first evening and the food was really nice, but slightly on the expensive side. We had drinks the 2 other nights at the bar, there was live music each night, very enjoyable. Highly recommend the Salthill hotel, we will come back here when back in Galway.

Stayed at the hotel for the second time. Room was really nice and beds were comfy. Main highlight of our stay was Alex who works in the bar making cocktails. We have never experienced such nice customer service and such nice drinks. He was more than happy to make us whatever cocktails we requested, even ones he had never heard of. He took his time during a busy valentines night to find the right ingredients for a cocktail I really love and made it to perfection. Even let me try it before he served it to see if it was okay. Alex made our stay for us as he was so professional and took his time to chat with us while we sat at the bar. Really recommend!

I had an excellent stay at the Salthill Hotel. My room was clean and comfortable, and the food, including the breakfast, was very good. The bar had a cool gothic look. The most distinctive feature is the location, directly across the street from the beach. It’s a great alternative to being in the center of Galway city, and is a short drive to the central attractions. I would highly recommend and would definitely go back

Stayed here for Christmas weekend. Such a wonderful surprise. I just cannot say how wonderful it was. The staff are like a finely tuned machine. They just cannot do enough for you. It's more like a family than individuals. Food and service was wonderful. Beautiful view of Galway Bay. I would recommend it to everyone. Great gym, swimming pool. Top of the art.

Fantastic location overlooking Galway Bay, Staff were really good and helpful despite it being a busy match day apologising for the small delay with the food but that was to be expected. A little disappointed with my chicken curry as it was not that tender and I wondered if it had been microwaved! All in all it was nicely presented and definitely worth another visit as the Fish and Chips looked amazing.

Highly recommend this hotel, it's location is amazing. The staff are so friendly and will go over and beyond to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Love their ocean spa and pool, the hotel is spotlessly clean. Amazing food in the bar and restaurants.

We recently attended a 'Take It To the Limit' concert at Salthill Hotel and spent the night. The overall experience from reception, to our room to checkout was very good. The location is amongst the best if you'd prefer to not be in town and the service provided by staff is very good. Our room was comfortable, a great size and had a dual view of the beautiful sensory garden and Galway Bay.

Great hotel. The room was lovely and clean. Had lunch the day we arrived. Ordered loaded nachos. Nachos had no salsa or guacamole and very little cheese. Not impressed. We ordered two whiskey sours Very poor and glasses were small. Not impressed again. Bar manager asked if we enjoyed it. We gave him our honest opinion, and he done absolutely nothing to make the experience any different. Charged us 36 euro for poor standard of service and food. Did I say I was not impressed 🙄
