It's a beautiful hotel with a leisure centre. The jacuzzi was wonderful, the water was so warm. I was upgraded to the most fabulous room with a real coffee maker and fridge. An armchair with a footstool, a table with two chairs and a workarea with a huge bed. The food was lovely. The staff were kind and professional. The TV was great also.

The food at the hotel was lovely and we were welcomed by a nice cake selection at the room. Unfortunately, the rooms are very dated and service of staff was really hit and miss. The room is small and there is no opportunity to dry stuff. Also the leisure facilities are in need of an update. Main target seem to be American groups, not really suited for families.

Beautiful hotel, rooms were very clean, all the staff were friendly and accommodating. Very well equipped gym, nice pool, with sauna etc. A few things that would have improved the experience: - Provide a water fountain in the gym, if you forget to bring a bottle you can't drink from the water dispensers in the gym (no cups were provided in the gym). -Take the sign away that says "please wait to be seated" at breakfast if no one is manning the sign-in desk for breakfast, this resulted in sizable queue for breakfast one morning. -We dined in the hotel restaurant one night, I asked for our orders to be taken after about a 20 minute wait, we weren't offered drinks/drinks menu, and again had to ask to be served drinks. None of the above was a deal-breaker and I would stay at the hotel again.

The food and service at the lovely Bistro is top-notch. While it's a busy week as the holiday approaches and the weather is exceptional - the staff are wonderful, welcoming and the food was beyond expectation. Soup of the day was mushroom and it was absolutely delicious. The Guinness brown bread was hearty and paired beautifully with the soup. Had a long day and the meal at the Bistro was truly a delightful treat and comfort to the body and spirit.

Very difficult to sleep at night as the radiator was banging. Old facilities, maybe an older part of the hotel. The night porter did his best for us and offered another room immediately but it involved getting dressed at 3am and walking around and leaving our bags and belongings in the original room, so not ideal. The most surprising thing was that front of house staff did not mention this issue or offer even apologies at check out, never mind a complementary anything because of the disruption at night. I didn't think this was good considering the reputation of the hotel, and the price. I wouldn't be quick to stay here again. Breakfast was nice. Location was good for our purposes.

Stayed in the Ardilaun this week. Normally one of my go to hotels in Galway, great location. Staff were very nice and helpful. The food in the bistro was excellent along with the service. On the other side the room was on the cold side, perhaps as it was in the older part of the building. The shower was just about warm when the temperature was turned all the way up and the pressure was not the best. Overall the experience was positive and I will stay here again.

Warm comfortable hotel, if a little dated, situated on the western side of the city near Salthill. Friendly staff. Nice hearty breakfast. Comfortable en-suite bedrooms. Extended hotel so bedrooms can be quite a long walk from reception. Popular with bus loads of Americans, but check-in was still fast and efficient. Nice garden.

Lovely hotel and surroundings. I only went for a memorial service so didn't get to see rooms or use their facilities but the food I saw being served as I walked through looked really nice. The very large function room we had the service in was lovely with big chandeliers and comfortable chairs.

We stayed in this family ran hotel as a group from work. The rooms are lovely and comfortable and clean. The steam room didn't seem to be working, which made the already small sauna cramped with people a bit annoying if you're looking forward to that aspect. Breakfast was lovely 3ven though I got the wrong order 🙃 The hotel is in a good location also

Just returned from The Ardilaun Hotel and had such a fantastic experience we had to write a review. I read through some negative reviews out of curiosity, as I couldn’t fathom how anyone would have a negative thing to say, and I couldn’t believe what I was reading. It couldn’t be about the same place we just returned from. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we had nothing but positive interactions with every single member of staff. All were so friendly and more than willing to do what they could to ensure we had everything we needed - all with a smile and some kind words. I’m not sure I could pick you any one individual, they were all so lovely. There were 4 adults and a 2 year old in our party. We had lunch on both days, breakfast and dinner and each meal was some of the best we’ve tasted. Empty plates and high praise for every single one. The facilities and the grounds were amazing even on a cold winters day, I can’t wait to spend time there during the summer. We expect to be in Galway more regularly over the coming months and would not look past The Ardilaun for any future stays.

The rooms in the new part of the hotel were nice. The hotel itself has a very convoluted layout with an old section, new section and garden. We was a good 25 minite walk from town, so unless you don't mind walking hilly roads, take a cab. The dining room staff for breakfast and dinner were rude, and the buffet was continually out of something, so you couldn't eat a whole meal at once. The bartenders were outstanding and the front deak staff was exceptionally kind.

We booked our wedding here and I have to say from first contacting Zara who arranged a meeting with us we couldn’t have asked for anymore. As Amy and I live in the uk it was a big thing for us to come back to get married in Galway. Nothing was ever a problem for the team there. We had over 100 guests invited and most of our guests stayed in the hotel. We had a large family room which was amazing as we had our children there also. Beautiful A/C rooms which made it easy for the children to sleep as it was a warm weekend. Breakfast was top notch and our wedding day was so special. We had our ceremony in the hotel in a beautiful room and we then moved into the main function room for our wedding meal and celebrations. The food was absolutely amazing!! Everyone at our wedding are still talking about it. We danced the night away with full bar until 2am and then they opened the residence bar for who ever wanted a night cap. I couldn’t recommend The Ardilaun House Hotel highly enough!! If there was more stars available I would have added them!! You just can’t beat that family touch and that’s what you get with this beautiful hotel. I can’t wait to go back for our first year Anniversary!! John and Amy Canavan

Ardilaun hotel was beautiful, spacious and the staff were so helpful. It was only 6 minutes from the promenade ideal location. Would strongly recommend this hotel and can't wait to go back again.

Stay here for one night. The room was nice, comfortable beds. Wasn't too impressed with the food at dinner or at breakfast. Service was slow and slap dash. But some of the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, I wouldn't be enticed to stay here again.

It has a Pool & Comfortable rooms. The target is people above 50 years. Is not well equipped (for the price-quality is a bit expensive, i. e. there's only an all-in-one old fashioned bottle for shampoo and body wash, which is basically the same as the hand soup) so, bring your stuff (toothpaste etc). Food is good enough. The broccoli soup is tasty but the pesto sandwich barely has pesto, not tasty. Fair prices tho!

I celebrated my 50th Birthday there.Had a BBQ booked and later a bit dancing in an extra room. The waiter who was assigned to me for the evening made a somewhat bored impression. I distributed the champagne myself and I would have expected a little more organization from the hotel. At breakfast the staff couldn't keep up with the orders and the tables were set covered with colorful lacquered tablecloths. Some of the crockery and cutlery at the buffet wasn't really clean. For such an old traditional hotel, all things that are not possible.

There is no AC in the room. When I asked about another room, I was told there were no other rooms available. The staff was very responsive and brought us fans, 2 of them as per our request. The location has no stars because i didn't care where it was located. I was driven here and will be picked up in the morning. This was my first, only and ever night, staying in this hotel. In the bathroom, there is no conditioner and only a shampo mixed with body wash in the same bottle. The windows barely opened, and there was no way to get cooler in the room. They do have radiators for winter. But nothing for summer. I will never, ever stay in this hotel again even if it is given to me for free.

It was a pleasure to return to stay in this lovely family-run hotel. Every member of staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bathrooms are spotless. The food is excellent- great choices for breakfast and dinner, beautifully cooked and presented.

This is one of the finest hotels I have been too in Galway. The interiors is exquisite with fine dining experience. I attended a wedding here and all the arrangements were exceptionally good. The food is subtle with great flavours. Service is amazing too.

The service was top-notch. The staff are very nice and friendly. Any requests the staff in restaurant and front desk went out of there way to accommodate. We arrived late on the Saturday night and were going to miss last food orders at the bar but they were took our order and had the food ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Would definitely stay here again the next time I am in Galway.

Was at the hotel for a function, Very poor service no choice between starters. Was told my jacket was safe then at the end of the night it turns out “it was at my own risk” Asked for a cocktail, was then sent to another bar which told me there not doing it because it’s after 10pm. Over all good quality was poor. Very dated hotel

Not the worse hotel I have ever stayed in by far so don't worry. But this is a strange place! I feel like it was once a assisted living facility. Lengthy hotel that through structural changes, we had three rooms in our party and all were different in design. Literally from the thermostat to the sink. Finding your room can be an adventure through the weird hallways and elevators. If you can get beyond these items, we DID sleep well. They have a nice bar and decent restaurant. Health club is open to all, including those off the street so you are competing with residences for sauna space!

The location of this hotel is perfect for me as I like walking but it might not suit everyone. I get the train down to galway and the walk takes a good 40+ minutes with a bag. Plenty of taxis available so its just a personal choice. I go to the ardilaun every year and love the leisure club. Rooms are comfortable and clean with an added detail of an easy to use coffee machine . Staff are lovely. Food amazing, can't fault this hotel really.

Twice had staff knock on my bedroom door ( which had do not disturb sign on) to say smoke was reported in the hallway outside my room. A veiled attempt to accuse me of smoking. Firstly I don't smoke, lost both my parts to cope from smoking ,secondly there was a smoke alarm in my room which I assume was working! Also several in the hallway outside. This soured an otherwise wonderful stay.

Really lovely hotel, a little dated in decor but doesn’t bother me too much. Great staff, slept so well, delicious breakfast, nice pool and very good value for money. Highly recommend.

Stayed here for one night to visit the Galway Christmas Markets and it was an ideal hotel for myself and my family. The rooms are so big and comfortable, the grounds are ideal for small children with a fairy trail and so much space to roam and explore. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back! A very relaxed stay for anyone with small children. Would highly recommend!

To anyone thinking of a break in Galway, Ardilaun hotel is the place to come. Every single staff member from the minute I arrived have been so genuinely lovely and caring. The food is amazing good value and the leisure centre and pool with jacuzzi is spectacular. Feeling refreshed and looking forward to my next visit !

The Ardilaun is my favorite hotel in Galway. I attended a Wedding here recently. From the first minute to the last everything was flawless. Some of the staff probably haven't worked in 18 months due to Covid and possibly others were starting new jobs for the first time but it was as if nothing had changed. Everyone knew their job, were really courteous and all guests were looked after. Such a lovely atmosphere in the hotel. 5 Stars

(this review is for the restaurant) Came her for my daughter's confirmation dinner. The staff was friendly and they were very generous in portions. I ordered a crispy buttermilk chicken burger and spicy wings and I have to say the burger was one of the biggest and greatest I've ever consumed. I extremely recommend and will be certain to come back

The hotel location is splendid, hotel is a bit old but really well maintained. Pub inside is nice people as well. The only thing we didn't like is the food at the restaurant and breakfast. I had to leave it there. Also breakfast presentation was not great. The way how food is presented to guests is half of the work... Than it comes to taste. I had the feeling things were cooked in advance and warmed up later even eggs and that was bad.
