It took me over 10 visits to Galway to find this place. Not that it is hidden (it is so close to main train and bus stations), I simply never thought that common shopping center can have some magic. And this one does. Order meal at Subway or coffee at Costa and sit under ancient walls - priceless. Not to mention shops for every taste and budget. Regardless are you buying book, shoes, sweets, clothes or smartphone. You will find it all. And places to sit, have a bite or drink and chat with friends. Or just soak yourself in energies of people passing by. Highly recommend stop if you are tourist roaming around the town.

The market is beautiful and has excellent brands whose prices are affordable for everyone. It has excellent supermarkets and has delicious restaurants and distinctive cafes. It deserves more than five stars.

Good selection of shops. Nice coffee shop. Just surprised to have to pay for the use of the toilet. Thought all places that serve food must have available toilet facilities nearby. Unfortunately I didn't have 50c for the facility. Maybe you might consider a token system for use of toilets for those who dine in the centre,

EYRE SQUARE AND EYRE SQUARE CENTER= is a good get away place to visit. Busy streets and busy square also on weekends the streets are alive with musicians, restaurants are extended outside of the sidewalks and shops are filled with people. Everything you need you will find here from dry goods to foods.

I especially loved the crazy lady who serenaded all the mall goers from the central stairwell. The acoustics there were perfect and she was having a great time. Made up her own songs about the security guards and everything. Apparently she's a regular.

Local mall with Dunnes and some other stores, and good for the kids with the play section rides. Some excellent stores like Top Shop, Next, Oasis etc at the entrance are all closed. The charge to use a washroom even to just to wash hands is ridiculous in this day and age and during a pandemic.

Really good variety of shops available - both typically Irish and bigger brands. Can be quite crowded and hard to get around at weekends but that’s typical for any shopping centre.

Love this shopping centre, it has a bit of everything from good eating, although something should be done about the seating in the eating area, we had a good lunch and with plenty of good shops to look around it was brilliant! Recommend it to everyone

The shopping center itself is nice but I think it’s a bit ridiculous that you have to pay 50c enter the toilets. I should be able to use the toilet with out having to pay especially in this day and age

We had a very pleasant walk around this lively and lovely square. We stopped in at Murphy's for a cone, and enjoyed the experience of the street performers and the joyful atmosphere of the crowd. There was just the right amount of people and foot traffic. It was not overwhelming or overcrowded. Can't wait to go back and visit once more

Good selection of stores with three points of access. Clean ,warm and it has toilets. You can comfortably shop, eat, browse and stroll over two levels with an adjoining car park should you require wheelchair access from your vehicle.

Good shopping at Penny's and serial other stores. As an American I am not used to paying to use a toilet at the mall, especially after making several purchases. Cost .50 per person

A dreary, soulless shopping centre filled with non-descript clothing stores, phone shops, coffee shops, Dunnes Stores, Pennys and any other types of shops that populate the Galway retail landscape nowadays. The interior reminds me of the early '90s, and I wish the owners would do some renovations there.

Eyre square is always the same, smells like pee. Many homeless people are drinking. Rusty sculpture right in the centre. The entire place is also surrounded by bus stops, whoever is laying there taking in fresh air is making a mistake. But ofc it's all we have got so 5 stars, recommend it, just don't hang around too long.

Lots of shops, not much room to sit down with a cup of coffee. My visit coincided with a local boys school lunchtime break - Dunnes Stores was heaving with young men all dressed in black and grey!

Not worth the hassle not much to offer Athlone and Limerick way better stores shopping and free parking and cinema. Galway traffic and price of car parking is disgraceful and definitely avoid travelling to Galway now. And not safe to be there now since covid. Our beautiful city has become rough dirty and big law enforcement needed and the whole city needs to be cleaned up

  • 2/5 Ann Marie S. 8 months ago on Google
Despite having Dunnes and Penneys this shopping centre is not appealing. Low ceilings and poor layout of centre does not promote an enjoyable shopping experience. Needs a face-lift and more eateries

I dont understand all the good reviews in this place at all A whole lot of nothing going on , Lifeless is the world that came to mind. Worst pennys in the country aswell as empty shops everywhere Place was crawling with travellers when i was here too

  • 3/5 CoolPink333 8 months ago on Google
The centre itself is fine but I have deducted 2 stars for the shocking fact that you have to pay 50c to go to the toilet. It used to be 20c which was annoying enough but to up it to half a euro is shocking. Money grabbers. I had to pay €1.50 to use it 3 times in a few hours and one of the times I just had to wash my hands. It creates queues aswell and one day I went in and the place where you put the money in was jammed. Shocking shocking toilet situation overall here. Sort it out.

The Eyre square centre is right in the middle of Galway city. It has lots of great shops and has both Dunnes and Penneys under one roof. Perfect on a not so great day. There are places to eat also in the centre but within short walking distance there is a huge selection of different restaurants. It is perfectly positioned and close to Shop Street

This place is a failure. Grossly understates beautiful Galway. It's nothing in something big and it needs urgent attention. The powers that be need to get their act together. They can do it. Hope they do.

Bar Flying Tiger there's a considerable lack of interesting to decent stores here. Flooded with your usual franchises, e.g. Carphone Warehouse, Subway, Dunnes, Insomnia, Starbucks, Costa Coffee, Pennys and Gamestop but lacks anything worthy in the way of alternative independent shopping. Strangely feels like a shopping centre from the past maybe it's the dull, dreary decor and awful 80's music blasting out of the sound system that gives me that impression. And yeah the toilet charging is a disgrace but I suspect they're taking advantage of being one of the only areas in town with public toilets.

Apart from the shopping, one of the amazing things about this place is how it's incorporated the ancient city walls into the structure of Centre. Lots of the seating areas are right beside it, with two round towers at each end of the wall. It's amazing to think that people erected that wall hundreds of years ago and there you are, sitting on the line of history. Well worth a few cups of coffee, just to have that moment.

Very busy shopping centre visited Penneys for shoes other than a few minutes waiting in the queue it was very uneventful. Got what we wanted and left. Did go into Dunnes Stores looking for shoes, I asked a shop assistant who was very helpful and friendly, great asset to Dunnes Stores, Eyre Square, Galway.

We were killing some time before returning to Cork and made our way to this shopping centre. So many shops under this roof, and there is also history under this roof - Galways historical walls. Also an exhibition of children's poems and artwork for the future of our planet

Great selection of shops but very little in the way of choices for food especially if u want to dine in....good ice cream & waffle though.....the 1 disappointing thing in this centre is having to PAY to use the toilets 😡😡😡

(Translated by Google) Eyre Square Center is Galway City's lively and most engaging meeting place with over 70 stores including local Irish stores as well as the most famous high street brands including Penneys, New Look, JD Sports, Mothercare , Specsavers, Vera Moda. Jack and Jones, Dunnes Stores, Burger King and many more. The toilet is paid, you need to throw a coin of 20 cents and then the barrier will open. Most often, everyone changes money in a butcher shop that is nearby. Who would have believed, the medieval city walls are actually located inside the shopping center in Eyre Square. This Historic and unique wall can be seen by looking into the center.
