Loved the shop and staff extremely friendly. Plenty of choice. I also purchased gifts from the online store. Which were bit delayed than advertised due to Xmas rush. I would like them to reduce their packaging though. Big box not needed even though was tastefully done.

This shop is a gem of the city, with beautiful wares and buckets of character. Being held up double jobbing all week, the only time I could find to shop this week was between 6 and 7pm yesterday evening. In other shops, most workers didn't try to hide their feelings of annoyance by my need to try on clothes with only 15 minutes of opening time left - which made the whole process so stressful that I cannot explain the relief I experienced to be met with the warm hearted helpfulness of the two women who were working at Kilkenny Shop. Which was the last shop on route, so with only five minutes 'til close I couldn't believe that they went out of their way to help me. They're the type of staff who are naturally kind people who genuinely want to help - a very rare thing to find these days! Thanks so much, I look forward to escaping the Christmas stress within the magical walls of your shop this year!

I always stop in Kilkenny Shop when in Galway and I never leave empty handed. Lovely range of stylish clothing and accessories. Many thanks to Aideen : personal shopper. She always finds me something that I wouldn't choose for myself ,and stops me from looking like a "fuddy duddy" 50+ year old. Shout out to Nikki too, who always remembers me!

I always buy my guess bags here , till yesterday , i’m really disappointed , I went yesterday to buy a bag the price on the tag was €95,ready to get it i ask to one of the staff , and she said to me you have to pay but regular price, it means €120, because sale finish on 8 of April. If you show this price you have to respect that , if not work before open and take out all not real prices

I had a wonderful experience picking out early Christmas gifts in Kilkenny Galway. I was served by Sonia who was really helpful and friendly. Not only did she go out of her way to help us find the perfect gifts but she wrapped the gifts so elegantly! I would shop there for the service alone and can't wait to go back.

25/07/2018 - I am revising my review after I was contacted by.l both Kilkenny Shop’s corporate office AND the store manager, Louise. Louise could not have been more professional, apologetic, kind, and friendly. She efficiently returned the item and then I repurchased it using my Horizon VAT Card. The entire process took only minutes, and Louise was delightful. She apologized multiple times on behalf of the rude clerk I encountered in my first trip. She let me know that the clerk was NOT a manager, or I would not have had that awful experience. I so appreciate Louise and how she treated me. Thanks much! +++++++ Original review: Disappointed with their customer service. Purchased a €100 wool throw and the clerk didn’t ask me if I had a Horizon VAT card. I didn’t see the sign that stated they accepted it, and it slipped my mind to ask. When I asked if it was too late to run the Horizon card, the clerk went to get a second clerk to assist. The second clerk was extremely rude and snapped “It’s too late now - we don’t always recognize if customers have an accent, so we don’t always know to ask if you’re a tourist and have the card. You need to remember to always, always ask a store if they take the Horizon card.” She did print out a paper receipt for us and said “You’ll have to take this to the Horizon desk at Dublin airport. They may or may not take it as proof so you might not get the VAT back I think this is absurd - all that she needed to do was return the blanket, give me store credit, and then run the sale again using the Horizon card. Horrible customer service - I’m tempted to take the blanket back and buy one elsewhere, I’m sure there is a store somewhere that knows how to treat their customers.
