The hotel is really beautiful, staff members were very professional and couldn't do enough for you. The service was excellent and the food was exquisite and well presented, and the cocktails were to die for. This has become our favourite hotel in the Gambia πŸ‡¬πŸ‡² now and we can't wait to come back. Well done African Princess hotel.

Having been to Gambia 10 times this is the most modern hotel I have stayed at. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. That said, it is a very quiet hotel without entertainment throughout my stay so is a great place for those that like peace, quiet and sun bathing but not a place for singing and dancing.

Hotel is located with beach front access. Enjoyed convenient direct walk to beach from hotel property. Appreciated USB ports in room. Meals at hotel restaurant were good. Service was a little slow paced. However, servers were friendly. Restaurant has direct views of beach and swimming pool. Towels in guest room's bathroom can use an upgrade. Guests should bring own washcloth (hand towel is smallest sized towel offered). Guests should bring own disinfectant wipes/spray to clean remotes (tv, air conditioner). No indication remote controls were cleaned after previous guests. From my observation, when there were problems with guest's room, hotel staff quickly worked to resolve the problems.

The room was excellent beautiful and clean and we lived having our own pool. The room staff Fatima made our stay perfect. You really do need to sort out the bar staff the left hand did not know what the right hand was doing sorry buy you were useless. Change the bar staff you have a beautiful hotel and they spoil it. Breakfast also needs a bit more thought get rid of the cakes people do not want cakes on a morning. But keep doing what you are doing we will definitely be back to the hotel in a couple of years. Thanks

Good comfortable place, with a high level of standard for Africa. There is a big pool going all around the buildings with rooms at the ground floor having direct access to the pool. Breakfast buffet is ok even if something more could be done. Staff is friendly and ready to support. The hotel has direct access to the beach in front of it. Rooms are ok and bathrooms as well. The only remark is about shower with a too low pressure of water that makes it diffifult to take a shower. For the rest all is fine.

Hotel is nice: swimming pools, restaurant with good food, comfortable room. The only point is that A/C in the room is completely stupidly located - in the corridor above the entrance door, hence it’s cooling down the corridor, but not the room. Hence, if it’s not working 100% perfect you will get +27 degree in the room. Choose the room before you check-in and ensure A/C works well.

Nice hotel with clean rooms and nice views - close options outside of the hotel for meals and generally good customer service experience.

Amazing hotel if you're looking for somewhere with no entertainment, no young children, no hen and stag parties and just want peace and quiet 😁

Recently was there, currently the most luxurious hotel in Gambia. The staff is 100% nice and friendly, pool cleaning every day. The food was nice I believe when it is season is even better. It's a bit expensive compared with other hotels but worth that money. Only suggestion more TV channels and some sports channels. Room cleaning everyday.

For the room price and The Hotel priding itself as a five star is an absolute travesty. Stayed at African princess for a week at the latter part of September 2023, never have i seen a more cost conscious hotel despite calling itself a five star luxury hotel. Power goes off when the key card leaves the power slot meaning you can only charge your phones when inside the room as you will have to leave with your key card when going out to be able to open the door when coming in. AC also will be switched off when outside meaning room gets so hot when you just come in before AC takes effect. If the bar soap for the previous day is not finished, it is not replaced during room service for the next day. Curtains a bit dirty. Tvs not having proper interesting channels. WiFi is rubbish. Buffet not so good options. Pool also not soo clean. A 4/10 for me. Only good thing is the location and the beach outside as well as the inner garden.

Nice garden and pool. Restaurant have a fair menu and prices. Breakfast is fair as well. Room are needing maintenance. In general a good hotel for a business visit.

The initial was at the reception was a bit uncalled for but after explanation we came to a consensus of not paying GMD 1,000.00 and was easily let in. Interestingly, after enjoying their beautiful ambiance; by error my wine glass 🍷 dropped but I contemplated of paying- while the food & brevage manager came to rescue and said it's okay. It wasn't dropped by you intentionallyπŸ˜€

NO RESPECT FOR GUESTS. Essa Sanneh, specifically is a very disrespectful and commanding staff. He was talking to me as if I’m his son. He needs serious costumer service training. His approach is so unprofessional and unacceptable.

Fantastic hotel with lovely, caring staff, location great with a selection of bars/restaurants nearby only thing that spoilt a wonderful holiday was the men outside the hotel that were only out to scam you.

The hotel itself is lovely, the food let's it down, the breakfast is satisfactory but evening meal selection is poor in a week the menu was repeated and the meals isnt hot, had to be returned twice in one evening. To say it is 4 star, it requires things like shower caps in rooms few extras

Perfect! Perfect!! Perfect!!! Clean rooms, very helpful staff - always smiling... Loved the location - if you love peace and quiet.... though it's a bit far from the heart of Senegambia. xxxπŸ₯°

Compared to all the places I have been in Gambia, I must say, this place outmatched them by a mile. Staff is very friendly and professional. Place is neat, interior and exterior decor is top notch. I must have been given the presidential menu because the food was exceptional good and plentiful.

I loved the pools in front of the rooms. The beach front was also a MAJOR attraction. The concept was solid and beautiful. The ambience was right. The pools overlooking the beach front was also beautiful. Some things though need to change. Water treatment for the shower needs to improve. It was really hard water and my bath soap struggled to lather. The buffet breakfast was very limited in menu. So was the lunch and dinner menu. They need to expand this and feature more African dishes. I struggled with what to eat often. I also had LOTS of mosquitoes in my room on the first night. For a hotel of that standard, this was ATROCIOUS! I had to use my hand to kill mosquitoes to be able to sleep. This means that they are not thorough and the room cleaners were not careful. I left these comments at the reception. I plan to visit again in another week or so and I'd hope to see that things have changed.

Lovely hotel, very much enjoyed the swim up pool. Many options for breakfast. Rooms and hotel could do an update due to wear and tear. Really enjoyed our stay though. Hotel staff are fantastic.

Absolutely first class. Staff helpful and friendly, great rooms, superb restaurant with a delicious breakfast Buffet. Right on the beach with a choice of pools. The swim-up rooms were great. Roy in the restaurant was great and looked after us like royalty.

Gambia is a fantastic holiday destination and the hotel is in a great location, right on beach and close to most tourist attractions. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and spacious. The Swim up rooms are lovely and there are always plenty of loungers available on the beach or around the pool.
