It
is
3567
meters
above
sea
level,
with
200
plants
belonging
to
80
various
varieties.
We
understand
that
the
trek
to
the
mountaintop
is
difficult,
but
as
we
all
know,
the
most
difficult
climb
always
provides
the
finest
vistas.
From
this
tower,
you
can
enjoy
some
of
the
greatest
views
such
as
Sri
Pada
or
Adams
Peak
in
the
south,
Knuckles
Mountain
Range
in
the
North,
Bathalegala
or
Bible
Rock
in
the
West
and
Piduruthalagala
Mountain
(east).
You
may
see
the
spectacular
view
of
the
Hanthana
Mountain
Range,
Hunnasgiriya,
and
the
mountains
in
the
Nuwara
Eliya
area
if
you
visit
on
a
day
with
a
clear
sky
and
no
mist.
The
Hanthana
Mountain
Range
is
famed
for
being
a
lone
warrior
capable
of
withstanding
everything
thrown
at
it,
as
well
as
being
the
home
of
many
travelers
and
happily
providing
adventure
to
those
who
seek
it.
Moving
on,
the
Ambuluwawa
Tower
is
Sri
Lanka's
first
multi-religious
center.
A
Temple,
a
Kovil,
a
Mosque,
and
a
Church
may
all
be
seen.
The
Ambuluwawa
temple
is
an
evocation
of
a
Buddhist'stupa'
with
a
height
of
48
meters,
according
to
legend.
From
the
outset,
this
Multi
Religious
Centre
demonstrates
ideal
harmony
and
unity
among
us
Sri
Lankans.
You'll
notice
that
not
only
Buddhists
visit
the
Ambuluwawa
Tower
to
enjoy
the
breathtaking
views
and
to
worship
their
respective
religions.
In
2006,
this
location
was
designated
as
a
Biodiversity
complex,
which
is
an
interesting
information.
When
you
reach
the
summit
of
Ambuluwawa,
you'll
be
rewarded
with
breathtaking
views
that
are
occasionally
obscured
by
the
persistent
mist.
When
the
mist
clears,
though,
the
vista
might
be
frightening,
especially
for
individuals
who
are
afraid
of
heights.
Note
that
trekking
Ambuluwawa
is
not
in
any
way
dangerous
or
harmful.
However,
it
is
not
recommended
for
people
who
are
afraid
of
heights.
Avoid
leaning
over
the
railing
to
take
photos,
especially
near
the
top,
as
this
is
quite
dangerous
and
one
may
easily
fall.
The
Ambuluwawa
is
a
short
climb
that
offers
panoramic
views
of
the
surrounding
highlands,
woodlands,
rivers,
and
cities.
The
Ambuluwawa
is
roughly
1,965
feet
above
the
Gampola
town
level.
The
Ambuluwawa
Mountain
rises
to
a
height
of
around
3560
meters
above
sea
level.
The
tower
rises
at
a
height
of
roughly
48
meters,
and
climbing
to
the
top
is
not
suggested
for
the
elderly
or
children.
The
serpentine
mountain
route
winds
through
alpine
scenery,
rocks,
and
rare
vegetation
that
can't
be
found
anyplace
else.
Three
ponds,
a
sacred
Bodhi
tree,
a
water
park,
a
stone
park,
and
herb
garden
are
among
the
sights
to
see.
Former
Sri
Lankan
Prime
Minister
Dissanayake
Mudiyanselage
Jayaratne,
often
known
as
"Di
Mu,"
who
was
born
near
Gampola,
opened
the
Ambuluwawa
Biodiversity
Center.
The
Ambuluwawa
is
85
kilometers
from
Colombo
for
people
traveling
from
there.
