I would like to provide an honest review of my one-day stay at Tea Cottage Resort and Spa, ensuring it is 100% accurate. Areas for improvement: 1. The entrance road to the hotel was bumpy and rough, making it unsuitable for low ground clearance vehicles. It would be beneficial for the hotel to address this issue. 2. The rooms could be better managed and cleaned. During my stay, I noticed stains and ants on the bed and linens. This aspect requires attention. 3. The food choices were limited, even though the hotel had low occupancy. It would be more accommodating if guests were allowed to select their preferred options. Currently, we were only given the choice between grilled chicken or pasta for dinner. Positive aspects: 1. The staff, including those in the restaurant, security, and room service, were exceptionally friendly and supportive. 2. The food served at the hotel was delicious and fresh. 3. The environment was peaceful and became even more serene in the evening. Considering the aforementioned points and taking into account that it was a budget stay, I would rate my overall experience as 3 out of 5.

It's a nice little hotel, and probably the best hotel in Nawalapitiya. The staff is friendly and helpful. Food is good. If you walk a little further up in the property, the views are amazing.

I recently had the pleasure of spending a few days at this hotel, and I'd like to share my experience with you. Location: What sets this place apart is its unique location within a tea estate. Staying here offers a one-of-a-kind experience. Since the hotel owns the entire estate, you have the freedom to explore the beautiful surroundings at your leisure. Whether it's taking a leisurely stroll to enjoy the scenic beauty or embarking on a refreshing morning exercise walk, the location is a true gem. This hotel is nestled just a few kilometers away from Nawalapitiya town, Road was under construction like most of sri lankan roads. Staff: The staff at this hotel are truly exceptional. They are warm, friendly, and always eager to provide top-notch service. What's even better is that they respect your privacy, striking the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving you the space you need to relax and unwind. Food: In my experience, it's the only place among Sri Lankan resorts that offers everthing in the menu. Which contains from Sri Lankan delights to Western and Indian cuisines. The prices are reasonable, which is certainly a plus. However, I did notice that there's room for improvement in terms of food quality. Rooms: During my stay, I had the pleasure of staying in one of the cottages near the main entrance on my first day. This particular cottage provided a fantastic view of the river nearby, making it an ideal choice for nature enthusiasts. The room itself was incredibly spacious, allowing ample room to relax and unwind. The stoned bathrooms added a unique touch to the overall experience, making it feel even more special. Near future they are planning a building a tent house, which will come with a even more fantanstic view.

Everything was good except for their slow service. The manager was not available for both the days we stayed. The guys who work there do not know how to handle a customer. They don't even know what is served for the breakfast menu. They told us breakfast will be over by 10am but they served breakfast around 11:30am. They took so long to prepare and serve it.

I recently stayed at the Tea Cottage Resort in Nawalapitiya and was very impressed by the reasonable prices and the beautiful, cold surroundings. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful and affordable getaway in a stunning location.

This was a very pleasant place to spend your holidays in. The Cottage is located at the top of a hill, which provides a very breathtaking view of the waterfall/river and the magnificent mountain. The Room we stayed in was the Riverside view Luxury cottage with a direct view of the river/waterfall and the mountain. This only enhanced our stay and experience there ten folds. In addition to the aesthetic experience and the excellent room, two of the most highlights of our stay at the Tea Cottage was the service provided by the staff and the top notch food. The staff was more than accommodating to all of our special requests during our stay there. From the GM to the Cook, their service and level of customer service exceeded my expectation. Especially Yohan, who was always available and happy to help with all of our requests with no hesitation. The only minor drawback would be the entertainment systems (TV, Game Room, Pool). If they manage to have these addressed, the kids might be able to enjoy the stay as much as we did. All in all, it was a experience worthy of a revisit and I would gladly recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway or a family looking to spend a relaxing weekend.

I’m a medical doctor in my profession. I have been called them to arrange a special lunch for my parents anniversary, due to our busy schedules we couldn’t manage to have a vacation. I have been calling more than 1 hour and finally one person answered the phone , then I explained my request and he just said all depend on the number of guests we have on that day. And if you come , if we have few guests we can arrange your request. If you really want come and see. Very disappointed about the person who handle this conversation and there is nothing to wonder why Sri Lanka is in this kind of situation at the moment.

One of the best spots for recreation and peace of mind. The place is so beautiful and calm. The cottages are very clean and authentic. All the needed equipments are available in the room. The staff are very kind and helpful. They can do everything you want with ease. The food is amazing especially the local food.

Very sorry to say that the staff was not courteous and very rude. They had very wrong perceptions about Indians .So my request to Indians think truce before going to this place. The road and passage which leads to the cottage is very bumpy and small. The location nearby is good it’s in a deserted place very serene environments. It could be maintained better by appointing good staff who is not biased to any community. In my opinion all Indians should avoid this place .Very less variety of food .In top of it they have so many cats you can’t sit and eat there.Very horrifying.I will rate this one as 1 only .This one also I m giving for the cottage they have made up nicely the interiors and the ambience over there.

+Really friendly and helpfull staff. + beautiful location and views + spacious family cottage - really smelly towels and bed blankets. Smelled like mold. -pool was not working and instead was a frog breeding ground. Which the kids infact found amusing…. Location is really in the middle of nowhere but if you like that its a plus. We drove from Nuwaria Eliya… small roads…

This is a great place to spend a nice day away from civilization and to get a great massage! Traditional meals are served for dinner and breakfast and the rooms are just fabulous.

A property which has plenty of potential to be world class, sadly the water pressure in the rooms were really bad, for a property situated in the mountains, horrible breakfast option, sausage, eggs and toast which was the same everyday. They claim to have a BBQ area and shared kitchen but, they did not want us to use it. The WiFi never worked in our rooms and the staff did not help in fixing it either. Overall, apart from the beautiful location and surroundings, there's nothing much the resort can offer.

Do not use their food items in the room or refrigerator . There are expired items. Check expiry date before use. The room we got is not nice and clean. But upper rooms are ok. Food is not enough. Their portion is too small. Barely enough for a kid. Not for an adult. 🤣.

Beautiful cottage with nice food and great service! They‘ll arrange anything you want and need. There‘s also a tea plantation you can visit. Rooms have the most amazing view to wake up to. You can also get spa treatments that are quite affordable. So if you have a day or two in Nawalapitya, be sure to stop there. Side note: on rainy days, there‘s lots of leeches in the grass. A little sad that we booked a room with private pool, yet they had technical issues so it didn‘t work. They have warm water but also issues with water pressure.

The hotel situated at a nice location. Food and service was ok. Could’ve had a better selection for breakfast and the portion sizes weren’t enough. Could improve a lot on maintenance.

The hotel is located in the green tea plantations, the view is mesmerizing, the birds singing and the sound of water from the mountain river is magnificent! The house where we stayed was with a terrace and was made of stone and wood! the hotel is located on the territory of tea plantations, there is also a tea factory where different types are produced, you can see the manufacturing process and buy tea! a wonderful place to which you want to return!

Very relaxing place between the tea plantation and near the river which you can hear flowing in your room. Our room (superior suite) was super clean, smelled good and was comfortable. Food was also delicious, but most of all the staff (Yohan and his team) was so friendly and helpful to make our time as unforgettable as possible. Highly recommend this place, it’s worth the detour (it’s not near Kandy or Nuwara Eliya, but worth the drive or train to Nawalapitiya).

The Tea Cottage Resort is one of the relaxing places you can find in Navalapitiya which is located exactly 5KMs on Navalapitiya - Thalawakale road. The suite was very spacious and clean. We really liked its interior design. The bathroom was spacious too and provided with hot/cold water. All the amenities were there and can't complain. We booked the suite called "Greenwood Suite" for 1 day BB basis and our stay was really pleasant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had a small tea center where we bought some homebrew teas. The parking space was enough to fit 3 sedans. The bed was comfy, the towels, bed sheets and pillows were clean too, and not to forget they had a nice fragrance which we really liked. In the suite, you have your own mini bar, small refrigerator, hair dryer, and an electric kettle. From the reception, you'll be escorted to the suite by their own Tuk Tuk. And room service is also available. I left a 4-star review for 2 reasons, 1. The entrance road from the main road to the resort can be better. We traveled in a sedan and it was kinda tricky to get there, but we were OK. 2. Food can be better, We ordered some soup, chips and a chicken cheese kottu for the dinner but the kottu was not that great. So we had only a few bites. apart from those, we can recommend this place for sure and will visit again.

Disappointing. Everything. I payed the night but I left the place and didn't sleep there.it's revolting when people have everything to have a great place and practice the bare minimum in everything. Not planning to go there again.

Cannot recommend it at all. If you decide to stay here it's at YOUR OWN RISK. We booked the villa (which was the highest room cat) Stayed 1 night and next day morning we didn't have water. Once I complained got water in 15 mins a very low flow.. which I was ok thought they may have forgotten to fill the tanks. After about 1.5 hours again lost water while using the toilets. Called the reception and the totel direct lines. Said it will be back in 5 mins when ever I called. But nothing. Luckily we had some extra drinking water bottles (which we bought). Water came back after 20mins. No confidence to have a bath or to use the tub. At the end we decided to check out earliest possible. Checked out and came for breakfast. At that point person claiming as GM apologized and tried his best to win back the trust. And gave an additional potion of breakfast as well. Other staff so very polite and helpful apart from one old person who was incharge and didn't take any action to sort the issue until I escalated

A brilliant place to stay if you're visiting the Nawalapitiya town (which is 20 minutes away) or if you wish to shuttle to Nuwara Eliya and enjoy the sights in between over a couple of days. Choose from family cottages, two bed cottages and villas all in one location. The standards of the rooms are exceptional. Everything is clean, spotless and well maintained. The only drawback is that the three location is hilly and the cottages are at varying elevations, which means you have to climb steps. Not ideal for elderly people, but not a huge problem at the same time. The staff, managed by Mr. Sarath Warakaulla is very friendly, accommodating and helpful. We were assisted by young Yohan who is also very friendly and will help you with your requirements. There is a good menu at hand and you can order a wide array of dishes both local and western. All in all, we had a very nice stay at the Tea Cottage and will definitely be coming back. Look out for leeches when you're waking off the main paths during the rainy season!

The surrounding environment was so soothing and relaxing and the staff was very friendly. The cottages were clean and cost effective. The last few meters of the road leading to the entrance were a bit bumpy and rough but that was not a big issue(we drove a sedan)
