A wonderful place where one can witness river Shimsha flow in all its glory. It is about 90kms from Bangalore . Take the Kanakapura Road and take a left deviation at Halagur. The road condition for the last 7‑10 kms are bad. It is mostly an off road drive/ ride. From the parking point, one has to trek down to go closer to the waterfalls. In off seasons, one can also trek to the origin of the waterfalls. Make sure you go a little further and witness the view of river Cauvery from the forest watch tower. Also, Shimshapura dam is close by and can be visited along with Ganalu falls. Best time to visit is from July ‑ October.

We rode down to this place all the way from Bangalore. Entry to the waterfall is prohibited now. It's basically pointless to go there. The locals said they have no idea when (if) the falls will open up to tourists again.

When it comes to water falls, you won't be disappointed by seeing this how beautiful it is! One of the coolest falls near kanakpura. It's not that crowded place, and to get a proper view, you've to climb down, be careful while climbing down because no stairs their. Full of mud and once you reach to the bottom then you'll feel the water sound. The roads were smooth too, it was a comfortable ride & it'll be helpful if you carry some food for your little picnic next to the river.

This place is located around 90kms from bangalore. An decent place to enjoy water falls and an stream of water where you can play. You have to take the kanakpura road which is good upto the entrance of this falls entey. And which gets very bad after you enter where it's full off-road which isn't an safe place to ride for a biker who has no experience doing it before. We have to park the vehicle and trek for around some kms to reach the falls and later you can still go down the falls where you can play with water by you bike. No particular parking area. No officials to guard and which makes this place unsafe if you are going alone or with your partner. You can see people putting garbages near water and can also see beer bottles which makes evident people are using this place for some bad activities. So I recommend you to visit this place with group of people which is fun and safe too. Please carry enough water and food when entering this place as there are no stalls which sells dishes to eat.

Ganalu falls has some tough terrains including narrow - steep roads. Going in 2-4 wheeler is bit challenging - drive cautiously! Try visiting during rainy season or during early hours before it gets too hot. You can also park vehicles down and walk the distance - small trek of couple of kms. There are some home stays around. Try booking in advance if you are going with family. Carry enough water if you are trekking the distance. Good luck and leave the comments!

No words to describe, it's simply out of the world. I had read somewhere that you will witness rain near Niagara falls which is not actually rain it is pressure of the falls water and air. Same thing happened in ganalu falls. I would call it as mini Niagara in karnataka. PLEASE NOTE : Now the place is restricted for tourists due to heavy water flow. Please don't visit as of now.

Nice view. Need to park vehicle and walk around 500 meters for the view. Best time to visit in monsoon. Less explored place. Suggested to visit in morning.

One of the unexplored waterfalls that's within 100 km from Bangalore. Ideally for half day outing to hang out with friends and click a few memories. If you can leave by early morning 6 am, you can be back by 12 noon. please note once you enter the unpaved road not eateries. Requires to get down and walk to get close to the waterfalls..if you are a biker, you will enjoy the rough roading.

The place is beautiful. Route to Ganalu falls has off road about 8-10kms. People like me loves to drive off roads will surely enjoy it. However some doesn't enjoy off road drives. Ater reaching the spot, we have to get down to the view spot, and again there are no steps. Walk way down to the spot is slippery and grippers and good sport shoes are recommended. The final destination is really beautiful and I loved spending time. If you have a group of people, it will be even more enjoyable. Its worth visiting this place.

Visiting Ganalu Falls was a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The pristine, cascading waters surrounded by lush greenery created a serene atmosphere. The trek to reach the falls added a sense of adventure to the trip. It's a perfect spot for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility. Just remember to take necessary precautions while exploring the area to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

This is a scenic beauty 😍.the view is awesome .the way to reach this falls is also good😜. There are no roads literally you have to do off-roading 😂. Small cars please be careful and drive into this at you own risk. Big cars and SUV s you will have a good time and fun on this road. Two wheelers you will love this road (off-roading). I loved it . After reaching the view point (breath taking), to go near the falls you have to trek a little.Be careful it's very steep and slippery when it rains. Over all worth off-roading 😊😊😜. One important point for family and group with girls please dont get secluded and leave from there before 4 or 5 pm.

It's a wonderful place to go for a day ride along with your folks, There would not be options for Food and beverages, the road is a rough terrain, so do prefer a car with good ground clearance or a bike that can take a rough terrain

Great place, little unexplored. But requesting ppl not to throw plastics around and litter the place. Recommend to go by bike as the last 3-4kms are kinda off-road experience. You can go by car as well but need to be careful as chassis may touch at times.

Small waterfalls near Halaguru. It's good enough for a day ride. Roads are good and the last reach of about 3km, there is no road to the falls. It is extremely slippery during rains and one has to wear comfortable shoes for descending downhill to the falls. Please dont litter over there as one could find many empty alcohol bottles, cigarettes and even cakes. Please enjoy nature and do not pollute.
