We discovered this fantastic restaurant on our way from Dambulla to Colombo. It is close to the main road and has plenty of parking space. The food was delicious and warm, and you can order more curries if necessary. We had our lunch while admiring a lovely paddy field nearby. Despite its proximity to a busy road, the surroundings are serene and beautiful. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is extremely friendly. Their restaurant was named Maara because it was located beneath a massive Mara Tree.

We found Maara Cafe in our search to grab some lunch on our way to Anuradhapura, and boy are we glad that we did. The first thing you notice is the lush field of paddy that soothes the eye. The food was delicious and had a touch of home. We loved the rice although wished we had bigger portions vegetables on the plate. There fried වැව්මාලු was superb. Food prices are very reasonable, but they charge 3% for card payments which they failed to mention when I handed over the card. So better carry cash with you. The dining area was made in a rustic theme, had sizable seating capacity and was super clean. There were benches, not chairs. The crew was very helpful. The washroom facility has space for improvement but it wasn't bad. The parking area can accommodate around 7 full size sedans comfortably. I'll definitely visit here on my next trip.

All I can say is amazing the scenery and views were stunning the food was delicious and best of all the waiters , they were so kind and helpful would defiantly recommend .

We were impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere and the excellent service. Food are classy and fresh. Every dish we ordered Cleanly prepared, beautifully presented, and delicious. The staff is so friendly. Prices are not that much low, but great value for money. Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Found this nice and ideal place accidently on our way to home from sigiriya to kurunegala. Food are super delicious and love the way they served the dish. Hats off to the person who firstly got the idea to build up this kinda cafe in a lovely surrounding.

Mara Cafe is a very nice place to have lunch or breakfast if you are visiting Sigiriya or Dabulla. The staff was very supportive, and the food was very tasty. Lunch costs around LKR 600, and the atmosphere was great.

Amazing authentic Sri Lankan food. Best value for money. Lovely nature friendly location facing greenery,Paddy fields and crops. Rasam was exceptional. Pork curry and chicken was amazing.

On your way to Dambulla from Kurunegala at Belugamuwa, this is a great place to enjoy meals in an eco-style setup, transquil atmosphere surrounded by agricultural land. Clean and tidy, best service and presentation. Highly recommend.

The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Nice place to have a good lunch facing to paddy fields. The food was excellent, very tasty and good in quantity. The staff was so friendly and specially the toilets were very clean and they have enough space for parking.

Had a very pleasant visit to Maara Cafe for Breakfast. The place was recommended by Nimal Jayawardena who is resident of Melsiripura. Enjoyed the meal very much. very good customer service.

I would definitely rate this place 5/5. The food was delicious and it was very affordable, way cheaper than prices in Colombo. The ambience was great and the restaurant was facing the paddy field , which made it a very calming experience. When we travel long distance , It’s very hard to find clean washrooms but this was beyond expectations- washrooms were very clean and well kept as well. I would visit here again for sure !

Was an accidental find as we were looking for places to lunch in the way back from Trinco. I’d say a little hidden gem, great food, wonderful attitude of staff and nice location and setting for an enjoyable meal and experience. Srilankan rice and curry a must have.
