🫀 A place where there is no management and it is difficult to even know if there is any management. If you're someone who just likes looking at ruins, give it a try.

Most of the markers are missing. The outside is mowed clear, but the jungle is taking over the interior spaces. It is still a very interesting site when you consider that it is rumored that Amelia Earhart was held captive here.

Very cool place to take pictures. Nestled in what is now a very peaceful neighborhood, standing there kind of makes you wonder what it must have been like to actually be a prisoner or even a guard there. Watch out for dogs and be respectful of the residents that live in the area.

Easy access from the downtown but not maintained as a tourism spot. Almost nothing but abandoned.

Looking at the Japanese military's old prison, I felt sad because I felt the tragedy of Saipan... but the pictures came out really well.

A lost place. You can enter the three former prison buildings free of charge at your own risk. The cells are deeper. You can explore everything, but if there are sharp or pointed metal parts, be careful. Parking directly in front. A residential area is directly adjacent.

Historical site. Lots of shade under the trees if you want to picnic. Grounds are maintained by Parks & Rec. Free parking

Amelia Earhart was not held here as prisoner. She ran out of fuel near her intended destination, Howland Island. Hundreds of miles to the southeast.

I used to live across the street from this peice of history it is rumored that Amelia Earheart was held in one of the cells I don't know if it's still there but there used to be a carved picture into one of the cell walls that sorta looked like a female figure . If I remember correctly it's the last cell on the left hand side in the smaller building I lived there in the mid 90s so my memory mite be a Lil rusty really neat place to visit defiantly gives you mysterious vibes walking around that place .

If you drive with google map, and you are not there, try next street. You could feel history in this point.

Dog mind! On the way to see the sight, three large dogs came and bit my 6-year-old son's shoes and confronted my family. With the help of a local, my family managed to safely get to the car. I am extremely grateful to the locals who helped me, but I was so shocked that I had no choice but to turn back immediately instead of looking around. There is a house nearby that raises large dogs, but the dogs are fierce, so please be careful when sightseeing. For your information, there is nothing to see other than its shabby appearance.
