Honestly sort of a trash franchise. Signed up for their big package so I could train with my son only to fined out I couldn’t bring my 15 yr old son in as a guest cause he not 18 lol seriously don’t have this problem with la or 24. Also signed up for active and fit they won’t even allow to use it until I pay my 49.99 annual fee. Just so lame and disappointing experience all around When I tried to use all these EXTRA bells and whistles like the massage chair they don’t bother to show you how to use it. Just walked over nothing turned on. Walked back to front desk no help what so ever. Every time I’ve come in front desk has been rude and non helpful. I cancelled my other 2 memberships paid annual fees all in one month. The only gym that has not been helpful is golds. Customer service not very good here, if you do sign up you should definitely do the absolute basic it’s not worth paying extra 20 dollars. Planets, EōS, 24, la all nicer a better service in my opinion. When people ask where to sign up I’ll be sure to steer them anywhere but golds so cal :)

Be avoided this Gym. I got 30 Days pass from Facebook, I just got here and Shilon told me that, I'm not able to using the pass, because I'm not live in Anaheim. I live Orange. Orange right next to Anaheim. Only 7 miles from gym residents can use that membership? How funny !!!! Suddenly he startes sells me membership front of desk. You should apologize me first. WTF... Who want to buy membership with this feeling ? And where is the tour ? I told him.i dont even know how gym looks like. Where is my question goes ??? You should show me the gym first, where is the tour T.O.U.R ????? Mr. Shilon. You should leran how to do business, This is 100% same as scamming.

Hard to sign up and hard to cancel. I was just in town for a week and wanted to lift at a Gold's Gym because its a famous chain. The facilities were nice but since I was only in town for a week I felt like the staff treated me as somewhat of a nuisance. Perhaps because they could not sell me anything. Idk, some of the staff was helpful though, Sylvester and their manager whose name I forgot. I ended up buying a month for $21.99 since it was cheaper than buying multiple day passes and ended up paying for two months because of their 30day cancelation notice. This means you pay for anything due in the next thirty days. So I payed about $51 in total for three days of gym access which was still cheaper than three day passes. But the signup process and cancelation process was so tedious. Probably would not go again.

Low budget gym. No paper towels on Despenser despite the fact we're still in pandemic. Staff not present were they're should be waited 30 min till I just went to the back and grabbed a couple drinks myself. Manager clearly doesn't care . They should take off the gold gym logo disgraces the name

Updating this review 6 months later. Main things I was complaining about previously was lack of equipment and cleanliness. Cleanliness remains the same, lacks a lot of attention in high touches areas. Paper towels often run out as well. Next, are the crowds and quality of equipment. Gym is way too populated for a gym this size and many of the equipment are starting to show their age. Lastly, customer service & amenities. Mediocre on all accounts. I would hope in the near future that this gym is renovated to meet similar standards like the newer gyms they have opened. Due to the lack of locations I hope this location can increase in capacity as well as quality of equipment. My rating will remain 2 stars (below average) until then.

Do not pay for training sessions here. I have had my training sessions rescheduled or canceled last minutes 5 times out of the 8 training sessions I have gotten with them. The gym is nice, but most of the equipments are not available in the evening, I think they have signed up more people than the gym can handle. The classes are really great and that’s what the 2 stars are for. The bathrooms are disorganized and not clean a lot of times. I asked for a refund of my trainings sessions since they canceled me so many times and they didn’t give me the refund. I do not recommend this gym as I will be looking into signing up somewhere else myself. The money you pay here does not get the service it deserves. Their management need a training of how to take care of their customers.

Workers lack interpersonal communication skills! I called to inquire for a gym membership and kids club, lady on the phone was extremely rude and wanted to rush me off the phone as soon as she told me gold’s doesn’t currently have kids club. Rather than answer my questions about different options she just brushed me off and hung up. Go to ChuzeFitness instead, where you can get service with integrity and an actual caring staff.

They have a dark movie room if you don't like to work out in the bright lights. I needed to get in some water and lay out in the sun. They keep the gym clean and have a nice staff.

BEWARE OF ADD-ON SCAM. I purchased the highest package with the confirmation that I could bring any guest of any age because I like to bring my underage siblings with me. A week later I bring in my younger sister (14) to do some yoga and they told me she couldn’t come in as my guest because she was a minor and that I would need to purchase a add-on package. Considering I picked her up from 2 hours away, I got the pass without thinking to enjoy my day with her and cancel it another day. About 2 weeks go by and I try to cancel in person, the first RED FLAG 🚩was when they say I must do it online or over the phone. SECOND red flag 🚩 was when I register an account and tried to sign in but it kept saying my password was wrong even after resetting it 3 times. THIRD red flag 🚩 was when I called to cancel the add-on and they said the charge for this month will be applied and so will next months per their 30day cancellation policy that was NEVER MENTIONED when creating my gym membership. I asked if there’s anything we can do to remove at minimum, one of those charges considering that the company did not relay that information and has since created a problem. Since they are a THIRD PARTY COMPANY, they cannot do anything for you and all they will offer is “sincere apologies”, tell you to go speak to a golds gym manager, and rush you off the phone. BE SURE TO ASK WHEN REQUESTING A MEMBERSHIP THAT ALLOWS GUESTS IF IT INCLUDES MINORS AND WHAT THE CANCELLATION POLICY IS. This is absolutely unacceptable and absurd to call 30 days ahead and to still be charged for the current AND following month. I really do regret switching from ESPORTA FITNESS to GOLDS GYM after this situation. You would think the company values their members and contract a third party company that shows more sincerity and take accountability for their own mistakes. AND from the reviews below it seems like golds gym doesn’t seem to care to compensate you even though their gym membership sales rep are selling their memberships under FALSE PRETENSE. All they will offer is sincere apologies and thanks for feedback “to do better/improve”. There’s a couples reviews on this going a couple months back and still here I am making a review about the same thing. So has anything really been improved? I will be going to speak to a manager and follow up on this review.

The pandemic hit everyone, and the financial worries effected us all. For me it was extremely difficult to hear that my account has been over drawn and when I found out it was from gold's gym I was furious because I did not remember signing up. I called management who assured me everything would be taken care of and they would swiftly refund the money after I describe the scenario and give them all the information needed to ascertain that the situation was such that the money should never have been taken since I did not sign up but had responded simply to an email stating that they were going to reopen and wanted to get information out to those who would be interested and possibly signing up for a membership. Management assured me that the money would be replaced to my card within 24 hours unfortunately though it has been a month now and I have had to chase down management time and time again to get their commitments that they were on top of it and that they would take care of it but again they duck and tail and do not respond to any of my calls only giving face when I call. Here we are 30 days later after I discovered the frivolous charges and illegitimate account that somehow started during the pandemic when the gym was not even open which is the biggest insult and management still has failed to take the initiative and return the charges citing that it's out of their control and has to deal with a back-end marketing group. Everyone was hurt during this pandemic financially and this directly caused great financial hardship to me to which management said they cared but then time and time again show that they do not. This gym and their management is only interested in what accounts they can create and hold on to and then lies to customers telling them that they will financially refund the money only to hang up and high five each other that they hit their bonus. this is not the type of company nor the type of management that we need during this time.

While I was visiting the gym a while ago, a new girl (I'm assuming) Esperanza at the front desk was very unprofessional. I was letting her know one of the paper towel dispensers was empty, but she was too busy on her phone to notice me telling her about 3 different times. I also noticed her yelling at another employee when he asked her "why are you always late". She's very unprofessional and very rude and does not know how to talk to people in a professional manner.

They make it complicated canceling membership and delayed process that forces you to pay additional month payment their parent company ABC are snakes they do this without telling you despite there is no contract, and despite having a injury they don’t care the money is only thing they care about. Also upfront gym employees are snarky & rude like. Horrible gym

They need to limit the amount of people allowed in the building. We have people working out with their mask below their noses in a crowded room. Everything is left to the customers for cleanliness, the staff are rarely if never out of the front desk. Shame on golds gym.

I’ve held back from writing this bad review a few times but I feel this time I shouldn’t. I was charged a late fee of $20 because I didn’t pay my fee before the 10th even after I reached out and called the gym a few days before to double check if my account was charged or not. I was told I was good and didn't have to worry. FF a few days later, they can’t waive the fee because I already had a fee waived earlier this year due to another previous miscommunication. I don't think it’s fair, and super exhausting dealing with fees and poor customer service.

Alot of good equipment. Clean bathrooms and steam room. I don't see too many people wiping down equipment after using it and think that the paper dispensers and spray bottles are kind of hidden from being easily seen. There's also only 2 that I've found so far but again, they're kindda hidden so there could be more but where would be a mystery. The front desk is really helpful. The personal training feels like they're trying to sell you a car but hiding the price tag.

Hello everyone, Keyword : TAMPERED CONTRACTS! I just want to say that this place SCAMS. This place is ran by the General Manager with a receding hairline and really yellow teeth named TIMOTHY NOEL. If you see him, spit and slap his face for me and my Muay Thai Gym because he straight up is a scammer and his breath smells so bad so prepare to wear a mask. First, I received an email from Golds on my contract documentation that I signed, just to find out it has been tampered and changed to “$49.99 a month on a 6 month term”. When I signed this contract I was told I’m not going to be on any form of contract and I can leave the gym whenever I want, also signed up for the most basic plan since I had no reasons to go to other Golds facilities since I live 5 mins away. Anyways, I looked up this guy and turns out he’s a Scammer. He lost his job at 24 Hour Fitness because of the same complaints from customers on tampering their contracts and his unprofessionalism. I also found his Instagram @k1ngfit92 to see his big ahhh forehead and receding hairline from all that scamming he’s doing 🤣🤣🤣 It’s really funny how he’s like 37 with a minimum wage job, like I don’t even want to do him like that but at the end of the day, my life is better than his 😘

Even with the new years this gym has not been as full and crowded as I expected. When I come in 2pm-3:30pm there are plenty of treadmills and stair masters available. I did not have to wait to use any of the cardio equipment. Steam room was working great. Jacuzzi was nice, hot and clean. I also enjoy using the Turf area to get my stretches in before beginning my work outs. I would recommend this Golds Gym location.

I don’t recomended to get a membership in this gym is very unsafe the locker room some body stolen my gym bag I was very upset I don’t know how a gym with a expense membership can have a good security but the worst thing is i have to call a lot times to ask if they check the camera and I have to call a several times and they tell me they don’t have time I wait and they never call me back and I call and I ask the guy and he tell me some body take your bag and probably put inside the other bag that answer was very improvised they tell me that before he ask if someone check the cameras I’m in a planet fitnes is cheaper than golf gym and I can tell is more safe

The worst gym in the city machines are old plus they charged me more than I should Pay monthly and their manager Ronnie Gomez couldn't show me in the contract why there was an extra charged and by the way he was very very rude Ronnie Gomez he is definitely in the wrong business no costumer service at all. I guess the gym has the need to steal money from people. Save yourself from going there.. there is way better Gold Gym facility with more professional attitude

I've now attempted to cancel my gym membership for 4 months now. I live 130+ miles away so i'm unable to do this in person but I was told the employees that i'm able to cancel over email or phone with Andrew (Manager). I've made numerous attempts to contact Andrew (10+times) at different hours but i still haven't been able to get a hold of him. Everytime I call I'm told by Ms. Carrillo (assistant manager) or other employees that he's either in lunch, break or unavailable and that no one else is able to help me. I have paid more then $100 since I started this process. I highly advise anyone who is looking to join this gym to consider any other place.

Javier and I have been working with improvements in my balance, flexibility and strength. Being in my 70’s, progress was initially slow, but even my posture has significantly improved during my exercise and development programs. Physical movements, stability and stamina have been extended with the workout training designed and successfully implemented by Javier. It has been a pleasure to work with Javier on my fitness, overall strength and conditioning. Daryl

After 2 years of staying away from this place, I come back to find it the same. Trainers promise you things and offer a great sounding gym with all the amenities. They never mention the $50 annual fee they charge you for until it surprises your bank account. I already knew about the fee, so I didn't bother to bring it up during signing up. I was only going to get 3 memberships, but the trainer convinced me to do the 4th, and he would add the amenities. Now, signed up, 3 of my memberships aren't allowed to use the classes he said they could. They can't even use the massage chairs... ? The classes at 5 am. are sometimes canceled! And the sauna is never on! It's so disappointing to be a member of something you pay so much for that you can't even enjoy. That doesn't serve its purposes. The sauna should be open for every member to enjoy, including the ones there at 5 AM. DON'T GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE IT'S LIKE BUYING SOMETHING BROKEN.

Been working with a personal trainer Javier since the end of January. Since then I've gone from 251 lbs to 236 lbs. Been really pleased with the service, workouts, and meal plan from him. As for the gym itself, it has everything you need to get a solid workout in. There are much more expensive gyms with more amenities but for less than $25 a month, this place has all the essentials. Also the staff is really friendly and I always appreciate the acknowledgement they give me every time I enter or leave.

I’ve been a member of Gold’s Anaheim since they opened. During this time, I’ve always had a personal trainer, most were very good. I’ve been training with Javier since December of 2021. I have seen the best results during my training with Javier. He’s dedicated to his clients & their success. He tailors his training sessions to each client & their needs. As I saw results, he pushed me to do more, which allowed me to see more results. Then he convinced me that adding nutrition & better eating habits would give me even better results while eating more foods. Sometimes I think that Javier is more proud of my successes than I am. I’m very happy with my training, the increase in strength & mobility & weight loss. I’m 72 years old and I didn’t want a rapid weight loss, because I wanted to lose it slowly by changing my life style, which I hope will become habits for life. Javier even has my husband coming more often for training. We are both happy. I would recommend Javier to anyone that needs a trainer. He’s dedicated to the field & this is his career choice not a just a job.

Hi, I’m 84 years old and I’ve been working with Javier for approximately three months. I came with a severe hip pain and some knee pain and both have gotten exceptionally better in the last three months. I just came off of a cruise where I had to go up and down the stairs a lot and I did so with no knee pain to my surprise. The training has been difficult, but Javier makes it a joy, and as much as I hate working out, it’s always good to see him as I can see results from what he’s doing with me. I would certainly recommend an exercise regime with Javier for everyone no matter your age.

I visited this place a couple of months ago just to check it out, but did not workout. But, recently I became a member and actually used their equipment and I have to say I absolutely love it. The way they set up the workout areas is very easy to navigate and find the machines you are looking for. They also have several cardio classes for you to choose from. What ever you are into or fitness level; Golds Gym has it. Very clean and big bathrooms. Also very friendly staff members. I highly recommend Golds Gym.

The only reason that I gave them a 1 🌟, it's because of the annoying loud music. The staff tends to forget that they are just employees. Their paychecks also come from all the out of shape people they look down.

TLDR: Not a bad place for getting a workout in , but go when it's not peak times. Inconsistent sanitary upkeep. If you want to get a workout in, it's a good place for that. Good selection for equipment, especially if you're using cardio equipment like treadmills and cycles. There are a few downsides to this place, though. During peak hours, there will be a shortage of the provided towels and disinfecting spray bottles. I've yet to see a crew member clean equipment throughout the day, so you have to pretty much do the cleaning yourself. They're also inconsistent with being on top of keeping the water from the drinking fountains clean. You'll often see the filter light reading at average or poor quality. I highly recommend going when it's not busy, so you'll actually get access to things like the dumbells and other equipment. On Weekdays that's before 3pm, and in the weekends it's a little less busy.

No gym is perfect but after covid regulations shut most of californias gym establishments down you cant help but be grateful and golds gym has done an excellent job adjusting , a lot of equipment good staff and large especially after the outdoor expansion , not enough Plates though for benches and hammer strength machines but all in all Id give this location a B+ and very affordable as well!

Ryan Vravis is the coolest receptionist hands down! She always greets and says farewell with the cutest smile and bright eyes. It's a pleasure being asked about my day and seeing how she interacts with other members. Y'all need to promote her fam, true story!

Ever since they change management a few months ago I have seen trainers leave... looks like people that works there are not happy, and us as members and that we pay for trainers we get affected. I have been a member since they open this location.

I come in at night to workout and use the steam room. I called in before I went into the gym and specifically asked what time the steam room shuts down. Person at the front desk said they close the gym at 10pm so steam room Closes at 10pm.I Walked into the steam room at 9:15pm and it the steam room had been turned off. The steam room had been off for a while as it wasn’t even warm in there. same thing happened the night before. That is why I called in to ask so I wouldn’t have the same problem.

This place started off as a premier gym in the local area. But be forewarned, these people do not truly value your membership. I have their top tier membership, which allows 1 guest. Today my wife and daughter visited the gym with my daughter as a guest. They were rudely turned away because they said it was their policy to not allow minors as guests. Imagine that! Nowhere in my contract is this stated. Their manager Timothy said it was posted on their website, which is false. I have thoroughly reviewed both my contract (which has attached club policy) and their published terms and conditions. Nowhere is it written that guests must be 18 and over. If you had any illusion of bringing your teenager from time to time as a guest to cultivate a love for gyms, you will be sorely disappointed. How sad is it that they have tarnished the Golds Gym experience for me and my family. Caveat emptor

My experience with Gold’s group fitness classes has been amazing. I always get the motivation from the instructors. I love the group fitness members. I not only get cardio vascular fitness but mental health. I feel so great every time I attend group classes. Thank you to all the instructors at Gold’s fit.
