Amazing ice caves. Definitely wear boot spikes if there's ice and be careful of the falling icicles. Phenomenal views and photos

Depending on the road you use it's a gorgeous drive and should take you past Harvey State Park and god it's a gorgeous lake so stop by before or after. The ice caves are so great still even in end of April. It's nice because you can really crawl back in there which is so cool.

The rock climbers detract from the natural beauty of the park. It was impossible to walk around near most of the bluffs without running into them/their set up. The creek was pretty and the area was beautiful. We weren’t camping on our trip, but if we had, the campgrounds looked perfect.

Beautiful area. The waterfall is breath taking, there are a few little caves to look in/walk in and further down the road is great areas for mountain climbing. But make sure to take the trail to the right of the falls for a lighter/easier hike, to the left is a little more strenuous.

AMAZING!! Traveled here in January, the ice caves were so beautiful, I definitely recommend visiting at least once. A car with four wheel drive or good in snow is best. Bring specialized shoes called crampons so you can hike around on the ice and some warm clothes. (It was a little bit steep on some parts but the shoes help so much) No bathroom anywhere. I hiked further down and also found a big cavern used for climbing.

I visited Rifle Mountain Park on a weekend in January. The snow added to the incredible topography of the canyon. The ice caves were amazing to explore.

Magical 🧊 We had ice cave all to ourselves on a Monday in November. Easy walkin' before ice on the floor of cave developed. I can't wait to visit again. The whole canyon is amazing.

Gorgeous locale, terrific climbing, great camping. No cell service but that’s a blessing. We had perfect early summer weather in mid-June.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Rifle and experienced exceptional service from the camp host, Hugh. Hugh's commitment to ensuring a positive and safe environment for campers was evident throughout my stay. One notable example of his dedication was when he reinforced the road with sandbags, ensuring access to the campground despite the irregularly high snowfall from earlier this year. His proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving truly sets him apart. Not only did Hugh go above and beyond to address infrastructure concerns, but he also showed genuine care for visitors' well-being. When I unfortunately injured my back while climbing, Hugh immediately offered assistance and helped me safely return to my campsite. His attentiveness and support during a difficult time were greatly appreciated. Additionally, his commitment to reuniting me with my misplaced climbing rope by promptly notifying the lost and found exemplifies his responsible and reliable nature. While Hugh's contributions were outstanding, it is essential to acknowledge the collective effort of the entire camp host team at Rifle. Garrett, in particular, played a significant role in maintaining the cleanliness and Emily keeps the peace in the canyon. Their dedication to the upkeep of the trails and their friendly assistance with day use and camping fees added to the overall positive experience of my visit. In conclusion, my time at Rifle was made memorable thanks to the hard work and commitment of the camp hosts, particularly Hugh, Emily and Garrett. Their efforts, including reinforcing the road, clearing up trails, assisting visitors, and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere, deserve high praise. I highly recommend visiting Rifle and experiencing the exceptional service provided by this outstanding team.

We were climbing above the park. This area is beautiful, a great escape from the heat and it's easy to find a little space for yourself. The climbing is also top notch.
