Too Germanic. Their sushi is good, and the dishes are also delicious! However, noodles are not recommended (none of them are recommended). Not at all like noodles eaten in Japanese restaurants.

Best sushi I’ve had in Munich by far. Super tasty, fresh, and full of flavor. My go to place when I want to impress someone who likes sushi. Service was also fantastic. Not your typical Bavarian angry-service. Sam and Natasha were attentive, informative, and I felt like they were genuinely happy to serve me; in case you’re new to Germany, this is not the norm for German service. Above and beyond my expectations every time I visit.

The Rice Bowl was hilariously amazing.... ordered Pork Rice Bowl and Salmon Rice Bowl. The Pork Rice bowl was served with a generous block of marinated pork belly and minced pork meat. Also served with lots of different veggies. The Salmon Rice bowl was full of combinations of flavour with a hint of Japanese fusion delicacy.

Food is pretty nice, though it does not quite live up to the exquisite price level, neither in helping size nor regarding quality. A bit on the fusion side; don't come expecting strictly authentic Japanese food (still tasty, though). Service could be slightly quicker. We had to wait 15 min for our drinks, and the appetizer came along with the main dishes. The ambience might be described as low-key but original. Seats are simple wooden stools; tables are long wooden boards mounted on bottle crates, and wallpapers are original Japanese newspapers.

I am not a fan of this type of sushi and the place is rather a bit too expensive. But I do like the interior design: Japanese newspapers on the walls, boxes as seats.

What a great place for japanese food. The rolls were amazing, the starter/tapas were all really good (don't miss the squid/octopus), the usage of vegetables in all the dishes were superb. We'll repeat. Amazing.

I didn’t check reviews carefully before going there…they provide fusion dishes and turned out I didn’t enjoy it. The salmon bowl costs 19€ but the salmon portion is quite small and not tasty, with mayonnaise and teriyaki sauce is not my favorite. And I really disappointed with the rice… it is not sushi rice, the mouthfeel is not good and taste plain. But the other Germans going with me love this place, so don’t expect real Japanese food, otherwise it’s tasty.

We come here on a regular basis, our favourites are the gyoza, takoyakis and the sushi plate for two. Also don't miss out on the pork belly and Japanese potato salad!

My overall experience was good. Sushi was tasty and the roles have a decent size, however they are not cheap. The miso soup and seaweed salad were good as well. The most disappointing thing were the mocktails (non-alcoholic cocktails). They were quite watered down, without much flavor, and expensive for what you get. In fact, in my opinion, the weakest part of the restaurant are the drinks. Very expensive, small volumes, and in my case a very light flavor. I would go there again for the sushi, but next time I'll go for a cheaper drink or none at all.

In from out of town and we were looking for some sushi. Just happened to come across this place and I'm glad we found it. Our server was super friendly, the food was excellent, and the outdoor seating was perfect for us at the time.

1st the atmosphere is full of Japanese Izakaya style. 2nd the food, we ordered 1. chicken wing-> really good, 2. tuna bowl -> is a fusion style, less tuna, more veg. even they put sweet potato on it. I don't like it. 3. sushi plate -> OK in term taste. Further the price is over.

The sushi is amazing! The fish is fresh, the rolls are tasty. The rice is properly done. The atmosphere is hip. Loved it!

The food was really nice, but it was a bit too crowded for my taste, but that’s my own preference. The food however was amazing and I can definitely recommend it! :)

Great sushis we liked the place. We appreciated also the effort of the staff to find us the better place ( it was still a bit cold in next to the door. The restaurant lacks a bit of luminosity where we were sitting in my point of view. Most of the sushis / makis / sashimi were good but I appreciate makis without sauce on them. I particularly recommand the spicy fish miso soup which I found really delicious.

We moved to the other part of the city but we came back after 1 year with 2 small kids just to eat here again. I love it and I wish they open another Sam in Untergiesing-Harlaching. Please!

Ramen was more like a fusion between chinese (soup base), japanese (ramen noodles), western (rucola and all). Overall a unique experience. Soup base was packed with powerful flavours of garlic and goji berries. I added pork as well (at a cost) which was really tender!

It's a great value for self-collection, and there is a lunch set from Monday to Friday. This is the first time I've had Japanese ramen where you can choose your own konnyaku noodles. The soup base is delicious and the quantity is huge.

Super nice place in my neighbourhood. It's a fusion Japanese place, with a lot of typical dishes from Japan, with a modern/western twist to it. A lot of my friends who don't even like sushi tried it here, and loved it, as there are many vegetarian and other options on the menu (like crispy chicken sushi). Ramen is also really good, as well as the sweets. Potato salad is a MUST TRY. It's just SO GOOD. The staff is nice and I really like the interior of the place. However, it's not the cheapest so I don't really go that often. I still highly recommend it.
