First time at OTF Garwood and I wasnt totally impressed. I wanted to try them out since my job was close by- figured it would be easier for me to hit a workout right after my work day is over. I have been to both the Totowa and East Rutherford locations which are both amazing. Atmosphere, coaches, and energy are always intact; so going into Garwood, I had high expectations. Some pros about OTF Garwood- front desk was super friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions and even gave me a tour of the location since it was my first time in the area! The coach for the night was also friendly. The cons- I was pretty bummed that the lay out was different than the other locations. I rely heavily on the mirrors all around so that I could spot myself as I do floor exercises and make sure that I'm doing them right, but Garwood only had mirrors on one half of the floor side which was not the side that I was on. Because of that, I was hoping that the coach would be spotting us more, checking on our form, pushing us to pick up heavier weight, etc. But she really just gave us directions and then disappeared to spend more time with the treads. I also didnt really feel a sense of community there. When it came to the end of the workout and we were doing our static stretches, my other coaches at the other OTF locations would sit with us and talk to us while we stretched, cheered us on and made me look forward to our next class. At Garwood, the coach did maybe 2 stretches with us and then held the door open for us to start leaving. Not necessarily the worst experience I've ever had which is why I gave it 3 stars, but also not what I was expecting.

I was hurt during a class. Spoke with a manager saying this is not for me as it is too much for me and I have bad back. The manager graciously said all good and I will pay for the correct month and no need for a notice. 2 years later they are still trying to recover 99 dollars after numerous time trying to explain to them that the manager had agreed to us departing. I am sorry but that is not something I expected from a really nice studio in our neighborhood. If your manager committed to something as a client was hurt during a workout please honor that. Tried calling the studio and corporate office but no luck so far so unfortunately have to leave this review. Update: thank you for calling me after the review. I am still waiting a call from the owners ( Adam and Jessica) as per our communication and now it is been 2 weeks but no call. Again shows how great the facility is being run.

Paid for the trial class, The Coach was very nice and welcoming but I didn't really like format of The class. I didn't like being on a treadmill for almost 30 mins of the class. Its honestly overpriced at almost $200 a month for being on a treadmill. I know this is the format of all orange theory locations and my review has nothing to do with the service of the Garwood location, they were great but id rather spend $200 a month of a better program.

I absolutely love OTF Garwood, the welcoming staff from the moment you walk in and the motivational coaches. When i signed up i wanted to lose a few pounds so I only had the intention of being a member for a few months. I reached my goal weight in about 8 weeks and I stayed a member because I love OTF workouts so much. I've now been a member for over a year.

Love these classes! Joined at the start of the new year and 8 months in, can't get enough. I love walking in and having the workout set for me. Cardio and strength training made easy. The coaches are great motivators and have fun personalities. Members are friendly and the front desk staff is super helpful. Definitely 5/5 stars

Have been here for a year and a half now. The style of workout has really balanced my strength training with conditioning that I have not had for a long time. Able to return to train grappling while not getting tired despite infrequently doing so. That’s kind of a first for me. Also the staff and coaches are awesome. Lynn was the first coach I had a sample class with and a signed up right after. But there are other awesome coaches like Cyle ,Ally, Bella and others who are all about quality of the workout while keeping things fun for everyone.

Orange theory is a GREAT workout. I was looking for something low impact that was still challenging. The instructors and staff are super welcoming and helpful. The class is divided into three parts 1)run/jog/power walk 2) rowing 3) strength. Being able to see your heart rate helps you to know either to push more or to pull back your effort.Every class is different and there are lots of class times offered. Looking forward to attending more classes!!

The staff is always very welcoming and understanding. I had an injury that’s affected me over the last year and I am able to speak up and be offered variations of workouts that I’m able to do! I always enjoy getting my workout in and all the couches are always very upbeat and positive

I absolutely love Orangetheory! It’s a great well-rounded workout and I love that it differs day-to-day to keep it interesting. They also keep it fun, engaging and interactive with monthly themes, activities and challenges. I have been a member for over 4 years and it was one of the best decisions I made, both mentally and physically, for myself. I particularly love the OTF Garwood studio. Having recently moved to the area, everyone has been so friendly, kind and welcoming. The staff and coaches are amazing and always super helpful and motivating, plus I love the sense of community here. I can’t say enough good things both about this studio and Orangetheory overall!

The blend of motivational coaches (like Bella!), technology, and challenging routines are what make me love OTF. It's accepting and accommodating to people of all stages of fitness. You feel like you've had a fantastic workout whether you were able to keep up 100% or even at 60% because you are monitoring your individual heartrate while also pushing from one routine to the next. Everyone is welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend!

The gym in Garwood is extremely loud and over crowded. There is no real instruction. The cancellation policy lacks any/all customer service. Like it is 1985, you are forced to physically go in and manually fill out a cancellation form to cancel your membership. When I called, there were no exceptions. They will not email you the document to sign. After you submit your cancellation in person, they will not give you. a copy of it. They only email you a copy, “…per corporate policy”. So they won’t email you the cancellation form to fill, but they’ll email you a copy of the form that you completed in person – how does this make any sense?!? Even worse, you are forced to pay an extra month’s membership fee. So, they are forcing you to pay for a service that you will not be using. Overall, not customer-centric at all.

I love OTF! I come 2 days a week and the coaches make an effort to remember my name. Always leave feeling accomplished!
