Many truck spots still available around 545pm. That was surprising bc the loves across the street is temporarily closed due to fire. This place has a Taco Bell with a Pizza Hut express attached, and an Iron skillet. They have some boxed meals in the hot/cold box prepped, as well as jimmy dean items. Not much out for breakfast. Taco Bell opens at 7am. They have beer 🍺 They have a Verizon center (Unsure of hours). They also have an ATM. Bathrooms were big and clean. There is a security guard 24/7. Many spots to walk dog, but some areas are trashy.

This place is a joke! Diesel desk waited for 15 minutes because the lady was down at the gas desk shooting the bull. Finally started to come down at literally a snails pace. Very RUDE when she did get down there. Then went down to the store to purchase road snacks. The diesel lady almost broke the speed record to get down to the store to go in the back room and talk with the gas desk lady, waited another 10 mins!!! Then when she decides to come out she rang up my items, gave her a 100 bill, she hurried up getting my change gave it to me and took off to the back again. Shorted me $20 and when I called her back she pretended not to hear me. I had to actually go to the back room where again her and the diesel lady were chatting. Will NEVER be stopping here again.

Worst travel plaza ever. Their showers have zero ventilation, and by the time you are done with your shower, you are so sweaty that you already need another one. The date is August 03, 2023, at about 6:30 pm. Both cashiers (from the fuel area and from the convenience store) are so arrogant, rude, and with no knowledge of customer service, and have no manners to treat people at all. Bathrooms are filthy. When complaining about the ventilation in the showers, the fuel cashier responded in a rude "I don't care" way, saying that's not her problem," I'm just a cashier here." Any other would at least have said they would let management know or anything, but instead, they give back a bad and rude attitude. Horrible travel center.

I was there for the first time last night for dinner. This morning for breakfast. Place looks fabulous. Waitresses were so nice. Food was great. Wonderful truck stop. Enjoyed being with my trucker and experiencing your truck stop

This store night time shift is terrible. We’ve been waiting to be checked out for the longest. Nobody in the front. If there were a theft they wouldn’t even know. The lady in the front messed up our reserve parking set the leave date for the day we were staying.

Very poor service. Filled up a diesel for more than $403 and couldn't even wash my windshield, because almost all buckets are empty. The guy behind a registry don't care even when I told him about it. Petro and TA became useless. I think it's time for me to move to another truck stop like Love's or Pilot.

1 star ONLY bc the shower was clean and plenty of hot water. Employees fighting in front of customers.Service far from friendly.Food expensive beyond belief(not that they even really had any!) Coffee NOT fresh-no creamer flavors or milk. No milk to even buy to add ourselves! No matching lids for fountain drinks. Place not clean. No masks to be found anywhere. Women's bathroom reeks of sewage. Tried to use massage chair and someone had to come unplug it so it would release leg pressure so i could get out. My husband is a trucker, this is THE WORST truck stop we've ever had to spend a 34 HR reset in. Save yourselves the trouble and skip this place. Go up another exit if you like being comfortable at all. Never will return!

Boy there really letting this Petro go downhill. Estimated 10-hour wait to get your truck in the shop. No one at the fuel desk when I went in. Iron skillets closed all weekend. Taco Bell and Pizza Hut are now closed on Sunday. They're basically turning this place into a parking lot.

The Heavy Truck Shop was an awesome experience because Tamica who runs the shop. Had a DOT inspection done and service. Great attitude in the shop and I had no issue getting right in. Christopher was the tech doing my service and was professional. Good shop.

Not bad but watch the dates on the food. Theres 2 pork chop entrees in cold case with a 12/13 best if used by date. They were there 24hrs ago when i got here yesterday...today is 12/18. Theyve added food to the case but havent removed the 5 day past due ones

Always been able to find a parking spot here. (Which is a miracle in the trucking industry). Taco bell, pizza hut, and iron skillet inside are all good. Lots of fuel islands so you're not waiting an hour like at some of the loves or flying j's. I stop here whenever I'm around Chicago.

We had a good experience at this location, the staff of the Iron Skillet were friendly and our meal was delicious. There are 4 washing machines and 5 dryers in working order. The ladies bathroom was clean and the showers are typical “truck stop” clean, so you probably want to wear your shower shoes. Cashiers were polite and prompt. We would stop here again.

Beware extreme prices for truck or trailer service. One of my trailer's hub was almost lost during a load and this Petro was one of the nearest options for service. When asking for an estimate the staff told me that they would not know but they would need to take everything apart and if the 'axle surgeon' needed to be involved, they would have to stop and wait for him to arrive in 1 or 2 days. They then quickly continued to let me know that it would require a surgeon (their wording, not mine). I imagined this specialist would be pricey since the person kept on saying 'surgeon' when referring to him every time. They also did not give me any idea whatsoever of the cost. After 2 days of wait and an entire of under 4 hours worth of work from the axle surgeon, the charge for him alone was $ 1,893.75...... the parts and labor as well as the inclusion of an oil change came to about $2k. paying $4k for this seemed unjust but they would not allow my truck and trailer to leave the premises. I am not a rich person and my wife was devastated to put it lightly. It is taking money out of my family. This TA was unreasonable to the charges made. Always telling me that they had to pay the 'axle surgeon' that exact amount, which I don't believe. Other owner / operators get charged under $3k for the same work. Beware of this place.

This comment is specifically for the truck shop at this place. If you have absolutely no other choice than stop here. If they tell you , it’s gonna be an hour trust me it will be four hours. Try to stay away from this shop. New management urgently needed!

Very well kept clean, Taco Bell not so good slow indecisive service often closed prematurely. About like any TA services a bit on the pricey side but the field desk been getting good service nice facilities for truck drivers I appreciate that they still have the iron skillet very nicely decorated it's like a museum

I love this truck stop but everyone packs the loves across the street for all the same reasons. Here, the bathroom ALWAYS SMELLS, half the locks on the stalls don’t work. All the employees are the worst. Personally, if loves had more parking I would switch. They have nicer staff, cleaner facilities, healthier food, but after 7 it’s almost impossible to get in there.

Truck stop is almost new, but it is dirty. The snacks are expired. The coffee bar is always dirty. Iron skillet is half way closed. My smash burger was terribly dry. The food portions are always smaller, then they are supposed to be. The fuel dispenser is leaking, so my tank got all over diesel . I would recommend to bypass this place. I guess location matters

Always like to spend a 34 here. Plenty to eat in the area on delivery apps. Decent food inside the truck stop and decent laundry area.

Better name it “Something went wrong” Or “Out of Service”. Those names will probably better describe this location and a lot more TA and Petro truckstop. 8 of 10 times something is not working (pumps, keypads, def, fuel lanes). You spend your time and nerves.

I went in to use the mens room & get breakfast. Mens room is a disgrace. & they don't have anyone working to take care of them. Nobody bothered coming in to open the Iron Skillet either.

I stopped in at TA on Grant street location 369. Antoine was truly amazing, he got me in and out in no time. His customer service is the best I’ve experience at any TA that I’ve been to I get routed this way just to get my truck fix by them.

Restroom was in such horrible condition I left without buying anything on the long trip back to Nashville and went to the speedway down the street. Much cleaner and upkept

I would give use zero stars. I cannot believe I can only earn one shower a day. I put in 60 gallons in Michigan and then I just put $190 gallons here in Gary, Indiana. I will now be going to road ranger

This place is pretty amazing whether you’re a regular customer or a truck driver they have just about everything you can imagine from a nice restaurant Pizza Hut travel travel store Taco Bell and even a Verizon wireless as well as lots of stuff inside. The bathrooms in the store in general or super clean which is pretty impressive considering the amount of people that probably come through here daily and I noticed that there are respecting the social distancing and mask mandate as well if you’re passing through I highly recommend you stop and take a peek.

security does not know what hard work is, when you park on the spot and do not interfere with anyone on the way 100%, a young boy will come who used to sit in his mother's neck, and will not let you sleep after a hard day's work

Bathrooms are nasty and dirty I ate in the restaurant twice at the iron skillet it's some of the nastiest food I ever had I'm so disappointed I don't advise anybody to buy food from there if you'd be there between 10 and 8 in the afternoon going to the parking lot at that yellow trailer Balkan Foods you'd be a lot happier

It's straight for what it is. Pretty big parking lot. I always preferred this Petro than the Loves across the street, but it burned down a few days ago anyway so there's that

  • 4/5 Donna L. 2 years ago on Google
Big lot but even the hcp parking is really far from the building. Balkan Grill near the entrance is great though.
