Love this trail it's a good 2.5 miles to the end of the trail and 2.5 back. So peaceful.

A friend found this trail in an e-newsletter. Such a nice trail. Mostly well-marked and defined. Shaded. Earthen, rooty, no gravel. A few lovely views of Lake Wylie. Sun-bathing turtles. Chattering squirrels. Birds singing. Beautiful heron flock lifting en masse off a calm lake surface. Breezes whispering sweetly through the trees. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. This trail passes through Daniel Stowe BG property. It is where we ran into mud -- a long stretch of it. Otherwise, it was a pleasant walk through the woods. Take a left coming out of the woods, follow the paved road around to DSBG parking lot, pass by it, stay left on the pavement until you see a sign to your left for Persimmon trail. Take this to continue the loop. Note, this a 5 mile loop total, according to my trail recording on AllTrails app.

Beautiful and peaceful (except for the slithering creature that shall remain nameless 🐍😳) Seven Oaks is the perfect trail for all enthusiasts. The loop through to the Botanical Gardens parking lot and back around is about 4.8miles, but there are places to add more distance if you'd like. Parking is limited, so good luck with that, but the trail is lovely. Happy 🚶‍♂️, 🚴🏿‍♀️, and/or 🏃🏿‍♀️!

Stunning, drop down the pounded clay dirt trail across 3 bridges through the woods to find a lovely diverse trail by the lake, by woods, and through trees. Not many people. The clay is beaten down so its pretty safe. Walked 2.6 miles in with my baby. Nice light hike. No trash, water, or picnic areas. Bring what you need.

My go to trail running loop with lake views! Great spot for fishing, walking, running or mountain bikes. Single track trail and not wide enough for strollers. Watch out for snakes in the spring and summer months as well!

Easy to moderate. Excellent trail, wide and well maintained. Biking is allowed here on dry trail days. Leashed dogs are allowed. Great Lake views. Well worth the drive from anywhere.

Beautiful hiking trail that leads through a variety of scenery: through pine woods, along a creek, through small clearings. Much of the trail follows the shore of Lake Wylie. There are a few benches you can rest at. The trail is over two miles in one direction, so we didn’t have time hike all of it, but we definitely want to go back.

Great trail. It's very quiet with lots of ambient bird noises and water running. A lot of people walking their dogs.

This trail is mostly in the shade and was breezy today. Even if it was 90 degrees outside! We arrived around 2pm. We saw maybe 7 people walking. This is also a biking route. If it's raining or recently stormed, don't go. It would be a mud pit. Stay away from leaves of three with jagged edges. I hope you guys enjoy the photos. Try to find the butterfly. Highly recommend this trail to hike. Bring water to HYDRATE yourself!

I love this trail. It goes by Lake Wylie and the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. It is 2.6 miles one way. You can walk, run, or even ride your bike. It would highly recommend using a mountain/trail bike though because the trail is a natural trail and does not have pavement. It is absolutely beautiful along the entire trail. Everyone I passed were very friendly and greeted you. I would highly recommend visiting the the trail. I will definitely be visiting again myself.

This hiking trail is great. Very shaded and cool breeze. It has beautiful view spots of Lake Wylie. Note: bring a lot of water and some good walking shoes as this is not a paved trail. Walked this with a toddler on my shoulder 🥵 but it was a beautiful, not crowded walk. Recommend!

Nice hike close to Charlotte. I enjoyed this 5.2 mile round trip hike. The trail is well maintained and the best feature is it’s proximity to Charlotte. You see a portion of the lake for most of the hike and after the first mile, which is close to a subdivision, the trail bears into the woods. I would call the hike easy as there are no steep or prolonged climbs.

a cool trail. tree top covered most of the way. some narrow areas then some spots can have 3 people side by side. parking on New Hope is free. small dirt lot. pretty quiet trail when you get away from New Hope. Lake Wylie is pretty. no significant grade changes. easy hike. lots of dogs. i felt safe. i didn't see any toilets so.... this trail connects to Persimmon trail at Daniel Stowe. i would visit again.

👍👍 Always enjoy the Heritage & Harvest Show at Dallas Park. Great event, vendors, and staff. Everything from Antique Cars, tractors, and equipment to Replica Cars from the early 1900's. Plenty food trucks and great swap meet. Over night camping is allowed. The visitors are just best. Will definitely be...
