Wow! Classy and impressive. For the reasonable rate you pay, the room is actually incredible. So big. So clean. Big beds with fresh mattresses that are just the right firmness. Huge TV that works well. Huge windows with great view. And the entire staff is so nice. Consistently! I've almost never been in a hotel this good!

Great hotel. This is where I often recommend guests coming to town for conferences at the attached conference room stay. Best tip is to request a room ending in -09. They are a unique room that is located behind the elevators on each floor. You enter through a door between the elevators. They are dead silent inside as there is a second interior door so absolutely no sound from the hallway makes it into the rooms. Well run, great heated underground parking, free Level 2 EV charging for guests... What's not to love?

Fantastic stay! The room was large and well appointed. There was both a bathtub/shower and a walk-in shower, as well as a bar area with mini fridge and microwave. It was very clean and the staff (desk clerk and all cleaning staff) were all friendly. The free 4-hour car charger in the garage was a lifesaver, as the local fast charger is under maintenance.

This hotel is very convenient if you’re looking for underground parking and large rooms. Location is good, only not too many restaurants are close by. Currently (Jan2024) under renovations are: Gym, swimming pool, parking garage, Lobby and some rooms. But not too disruptive to your stay!

Really loved our stay overnight in this hotel. Rooms are big and spacious. Hallways are wide. It seems like it has been refurbished and is a great hotel. Would be a good one for a conference with the conference centre right there. Well done!!

This hotel is that rare thing: a property where all important aspects are conscientiously attended to. Let me list why this is my go-to hotel in Ottawa and one of my favourite anywhere: *large rooms; *impeccably clean everywhere; *mattress that is just right--not too hard, not too soft; *TV that not only has an oversize screen but that changes channels relatively quickly as opposed to most hotels who gyp you with a slow signal; * glass doors on the shower; *quiet and smooth-functioning ventilation system; *very functional workspace; *kitchenette with counter space, sink, fridge; *reasonably modernized gym with the variety of equipment I need; *consistently friendly and attentive staff, who accommodate all your reasonable needs; *free underground parking; *ideal location 10 minutes from downtown and right on the Queensway; *and there's more I'll add later when I think of it. Also a special shoutout to front desk person Sara who rushed me up a looney for the dryer when I ran out of change and was in a severe time crunch. As for why this truly exceptional property only has 4.4 stars, you can chalk that up to some abusive convoy troublemakers who dinged the hotel when they aggressively parked here. Trust me, you'll be happy staying at the Courtyard Ottawa East.☮️

We didn't find ourselves welcomed in the hotel when we arrived on a Friday around mid night. Inspite of having checked in using mobile, we were made to wait for over 30 minutes just to get the keys. And we could see the 2nd front desk person roaming around, instead of helping us, who eventually did our check in. And the front desk person was not very welcoming, didn't proactively explain about basic amenities. Had to ask about everything like breakfast timing, Water bottles, direction of elevators etc. House cleaning staff was also weirdly rude. Daily around 9am they knocked vigorously just to ask if we were checking out that day to going to stay. Why can't they get this information from the front desk? I read somewhere that the room cleaning will be done on alternate days, but our room was not cleaned on the 3rd day, which means no coffee in the room, no clean towel. In a so called upgraded room, there were only 2 large towels, one of them torn on one edge. The only good thing about this hotel was Free parking with an available EV charging. To summarize, In the last 7 years of my staying in Marriott hotels with over 350 nights, this stay was one of the bottom 50 experiences.

the staff member (young, red hair) was incredibly rude, and gave me the most appalling attitude. Rooms were disgusting, elevators are broken, and I had to walk up 13 floors, unless i wanted to wait 30 minutes for an elevator. If i’m paying such an overpriced fee (for what i got), then i’d like to take my business elsewhere where I’ll be treated and greeted properly by the staff.

I booked 8 rooms for my band members the past weekend. The front desk people took care of them so well. The rooms were so big and clean. The service was top notch! Thanks for the great hospitality! I will recommend this to all my friends in the future! Please keep up the great work!

Nice hotel at the convention center. Private and secure elevators separate the hotel from any other convention goers. Nice location, easy to get out to restaurants or offices and right off the freeway access. I typically don't like to stay at Courtyards because they charge for breakfast even though so many other hotels in the Marriott family don't. But this hotel was better than most.

The beds were so uncomfortable it was a horrible sleep, it was like they were from summer camp in the 1980s and all the padding had disintegrated and you could feel every spring. Not to mention the doors are paper thin because you could hear people in the hallway at all hours. I know they are under renovations but there was a sewer smell in the elevators, hallways and parkade. The pool deck and tiles haven't been cleaned since opening. Names of many past guests have been etched in the grime along the water line. The sight of which looked more like a crossword puzzle than a clean pool. Furthermore staff were anything but nice and courteous. When checking in the person didn't tell us anything about the hotel, including where elevators were. We normally stay at the Fairfield and are used to complimentary beverages and breakfast. You do not get that here. Will not stay here ever again. Not worthy of the Marriott Brand.

The rooms were way bigger than expected, which was really nice, nice big bathrooms as well they came with soap, shampoo and conditioner attached to the shower wall instead of mini which I prefer. The service was fast when asking for towels etc. However, the elevator was awful. We were too high to walk down the stairs every time, and the elevators would take too long. The other thing was even high up we could hear the constant honking of cars which made it hard to fall asleep. The blankets were were just sheets and paper thin as well so that was rough. The restaurant attached was good 3/5-nothing special tho. The location is 10 mins from via rail but 1hr 20 min walk from the sites of Ottawa. It was nice as we had to leave via train the following day.

Great room and overall good value. The kitchen area, with full size fridge is great, but the room is missing a table and chair to sit and eat. Staff are well trained and friendly! The Bistro has great food, if somewhat awkward, sparse and unimaginative interior seating design. The WiFi in the room was purposefully terrible owing to the fact that a premium upgrade is offered for a daily rate. Ouch! The gym area was average with the exercise bike squeaking like an old barn door and one elliptical out of service. Are these machines actively maintained? Granted, the view from the 15th floor almost made up for the poor cardio equipment. Oh, there was audible construction going on on another floor, but this was only mildly disruptive when working at the room's small desk. Overall, a good vacation experience!

Beyond my expectation. Our room was spacious, clean and renovated. Reasonable price. The location is good too - close to downtown and Otrain station.

Hotel staff were very nice. Promptly greeted with a smile. Food was a bit repetitive, but was cooked properly. Hotel room was clean and was kept topped up with everything used.

I decided to stay here for the location and really enjoyed it. The rooms were big, the bistro served good food, the staff was friendly, and the only reason for 1 star drop is due to only 1 elevator working out of 3 one day. It was fixed by the end of day but the morning and evening rush were a bit slow.

Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. Beds was comfortable and was able to get a great night's sleep. Very good security measures in place to insure only authorized guests can access the room floors.

This hotel is one of my favorites in this area. I've been staying here for years. If you choose this place you for sure won't be let down. Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. Beds was comfortable and was able to get a great night's sleep. Very good security measures in place to insure only authorized guests can access the room floors.

The service was not up to par for a Marriott brand! When we arrived we were informed that there willing be construction. The front desk person insisted that we received email notice, and promised to call back two days in a row and never did. The fine print we had to dig out in the booking confirmation also did not show the correct information about construction times. We raised the misinformation multiple times and was only met with the service manager brushing us off. We were told that construction would start from 7am five days a week. Also they only have housekeeping 2 days a week on Mondays and Fridays. The hotel is old and in need of renovations. The communications could have been much better. The rooms however were spacious and the hotel is located within walking distance to the train station. There’s a pedestrian bridge that brings you directly to the train station where there is a OTrain station. Overall, the staff unfortunately could have simply apologized about the inconvenience with the noise and offered some compensations that other Marriott and Hilton properties I’ve stayed would have to make the experience enjoyable overall.

Amazing hotel experience in Ottawa. The rooms were spacious, and the location was great. I will stay there again if I have the chance to visit Ottawa in the future.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The room was very clean and organized and the overall staff was extremely friendly, all but one, which lead me to write this review. Upon checkin we were greeted with the most unpleasant reception. She was rude and condescending and brought our overall experience and enjoyment of our stay down. We are disappointed that such a personality is the first interaction that guests have with the hotel. All in all, outside of the poor experience upon checkin, the remainder of the stay was great.

I was only there for a quick 4 day trip for an event. I was part of a large group. Very well organized. They welcomed us with water and treats for my daughter. Indoor parking was included in my package. Easy to use. Didn't need to go at the counter fo check-out. The final invoice was emailed. I saved tones of time. I do recommend for any events.

It was just an average hotel what else do you expect from something out of city. The pool was average, the rooms were average but very spacious so yeah. average.

It's impossible to sleep properly, reviews on Google Maps from other people are rather false. The doors to the room are very, VERY VERY loud to prevent you from sleeping and living in the room, they knock hard when someone closes them, it's terrible! At 7 a.m., everyone starts banging and knocking. If you need comfort and the needs peace, avoid this place. There is no silence here

I was checked in by Angela. Have stayed in many hotels and have never had a nicer or friendlier experience. Thank you Angela for your amazing customer service. Rooms are big, clean, and amazing staff all around.

Nice location with quick highway access east west, north and south. The rooms a large, clean and have everything you could want. What appears to be a nice restaurant that was open until 10pm, although I didn't try. The prices were good, parking on-site and I was lucky enough to catch a ball game next door.

Very friendly and welcoming front desk. Room was spacious -- got upgraded, so thanks. Free underground parking. Clean rooms and premises. Easy to get to, right off the highway. Reasonable room rates too.

Visited Ottawa for a business trip. Asiya or Asia (so sorry I can’t recall) is professional, friendly, and her customer service skills are top notch. From the moment I came in, I only asked to have a room located near an elevator as I had a guest that had difficulty walking. She upgraded my room to a beautiful big “accessibility” room and for that I was very thankful for!

Spacious room, overall great daily room service. The room was not ready even though we arrived around 5pm, we were asked to wait in the lobby for 15 min until they call us. 40 minutes later it turned out that the room was long ready, but they forgot to let us know. Getting in the elevator can be challenging with the covid restrictions. Restaurant is overpriced (as expected) and the food is average at best.

Nice friendly service, bed was a little too firm for me (girlfriend: really too firm for me). Go for the location (pretty much beside the St Laurent mall) and a mid-tier (a bit too much road, but you still see alot of the city) view. We stayed on the 7th floor (for reference).

Very dated hotel. Not the cleanest either ( I'm very picky when it comes to cleanliness) definitely not staying in Marriot. I've told my husband we are sticking to Hilton next time

We always love staying at this hotel! They went above and beyond on our most recent stay. We went down to the front desk to ask if they had any earplugs because we had a very early morning the next day. Unfortunately, they were out but the manager, Gill went out of his way and actually bought us earplugs from Walmart! As always, thank you for being such wonderful people and showing that you care for your guests!!

Supports fair and equal treatment of guests. Does not support hate speech(which comes solely from people against the convoy). Negative reviews are from people who haven’t stayed here, and aren’t even in Ottawa lol. Peace and Love ❤️🇨🇦

Everything about the hotel was ok, a bit dated but friendly service from all of the staff

  • 4/5 Balmeri M. 1 year ago on Google
The room was clean and organized. The decoration and appliances are outdated, but for me the cleanliness is the most important part. The hotel has a nice location, walking distance from a mall that has a stop for the metro.

Greta room! And service. Location is just outside of the Captials centre which is great for transportation unless you plan to walk around as there is not much nearby. Breakfast buffets are for a low cost as well as options to buy Starbucks crafted drinks and small meals.

Upscale hotel with plenty of free underground parking. Restaurant on premises, as well as pool, and small fitness center. Short ride from ByMarket area where you'll find shopping, restaurants, and bars.

Very large rooms, ideal for a family traveling together. Excellent work keeping the place looking meticulously clean by the friendly housekeeping staff. Ideal location if using the conference center.

Great hotel with outdoor and underground parking. Room size and comfort typical for similarly rated hotels. Rooms were quiet. Service was good. Breakfast is not included for every guest, but likely dependant on Marriot membership level. Overall value was good. Location was great, 2 minutes from St Laurent shopping and about 10 minutes to Rideau Centre. Similar travel time to Byward market and a few more minutes gets you to Parliament area.

  • 3/5 Kelly H. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel was very clean, friendly staff and rooms were spacious. Conveniently located close to the O-Train taking you right into downtown, byward market. Hotel Room tv was very small rooms were not very sound proof and had a baby crying for the last 2 nights of our stay. Last night of our stay, fire alarm was going off from around 4am and not able to go back into our rooms until after 6am, information from staff was lacking and a 8:30am knocking from housekeeping asking what time we'll be checking out.

  • 5/5 Suren K. 2 years ago on Google
Stayed there for 3 days and front desk service is really great and helpful. It was a quick checkin. Room was very spacious and clean. I think they did upgrades. Parking is included. It’s near to downtown and a lot of food places near the hotel. Room price also very reasonable. There’s a Starbucks in the hotel and drinks available. The only thing I had an issue is with elevator. Only 2 are working and had to wait more than 15-20 minutes for a couple of times.
