An interestingly located mural, next to the monument of Jan Hevelius. It looks like an astronomer looking at a star map. The large format looks beautiful on the wall of the building.

The map is located near the monument of Jan Hevelius - a Gdańsk astronomer, mathematician, brewer and designer of scientific instruments. On the building adjacent to the square there are golden paintings of star constellations on a burgundy background. The map was made in October 2008 by professors and students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, using the sgraffitto technique.

Bardzo ciekawe miejsce. Mapa znajduje się niedaleko od pomnika Jana Heweliusza na budynku. Złote malowidło zostało wykonane w 2008 roku i robi wrażenie.

A place you must visit ;). This is my new "find", which, as it turned out, is not far from the old town. Lots of greenery with benches, a well-kept lawn with a view of the beautiful buildings of old Gdańsk, and above all, an excellent mural (the Map of the Northern Sky from the works of Hevelius), which is a must-see. The golden, carved (scraped) painting on a burgundy background is impressive. Right next to it there is the Bread Bridge with a thousand padlocks. A very nice place to relax and contemplate. Worth seeing.

A beautifully crafted tribute to astrology and Jan Heyweliesz. A pleasant park with many benches from which you can admire the beauty around you on the wave of astrology.

Not far from the Amber Museum is this small park. very bucolic with the canal in the distance, where the statue of this astronomer is located, important in the history of both Gdańsk (he was mayor of the city) and of world science for his observations of space.

Ever notice Triangulum Major and Triangulum Minor (top right)? These are cop-out constellations!!! Seeing a fantastical menagerie in the sky takes some creativity. Joining three points into a triangle is inevitability (the exception being that if these points would form a line).
