Had lunch here today and it was OK, pretty standard food that you expect in any bar. Prices were that of the really nice restaurant's along the riverside but without the view, ambience or flavour/presentation. Both our meals were OK but for the same prices a few streets over we could have been eating at a nice restaurant.

Had a very enjoyable post-theater dinner here. The wait staff was friendly, the portions were extremely generous, and the outdoor patio was pleasant, especially on a hot and muggy July evening. The food was tasty, and for some reason the fries were just that right blend of crisp and hot and not too oily. We initially thought we’d be waiting a while for a free table outside but the server let us sit on the reclining chairs and order drinks and snacks while we waited. I know the restaurant bills itself as serving Polish cuisine but it really is much more than that. Highly recommend the burger and the bbq sauce with their special “elixir” ingredient. ;-) and it’s just off the beaten path enough to avoid the really touristy tourist crowd.

COVERT RACISUM by definition is how I would describe my experience there. A long story short approximately two years ago: I was with a group of military friends that ranged from CPT to SGT and a Chaplin. The ethnicity of group was a pot of black, Indian, white, mexican, asian and chinese. I asked what what did he recommend pertaining to the drinks and he said watermelon vodka and paused. All at the table could hear it and made us all especially me uncomfortable. I was a sport and took it on Mexican, to keep the day and experience flowing but will never visit nor recommend this place to anyone, of color or not. I can't believe this has stuck with me all of this time. One should not have to be subject to such rehetoric in such a beautiful town.

Nice clean restaurant with a wide selection of Polish dishes, including some Pierogi with unusual fillings. The staff were very friendly, the food was good and there was also a wide selection of drinks (again with some unusual choices, which is always good). Overall, a pleasant dining experience at a very good price. It is a shame that some lowlife with no respect for people's property has carved some writing into the bathroom mirror, but that is no fault of the restaurant. I'd happily go back again next time I visit Gdansk as there are other menu items I would like to try.

Our waitress was nowhere near nice. Waited 20 mins to get her attention and order drinks. Didn't brought english menu with her and told me I can get it by the door. The food was bad. The meat had a lot of fat and my bacon was burnt, fries were cold and soggy Wouldn't recommend it to my biggest enemy.

Late Review : It had really nice environment to have your bites. But Staffs of there was not so aware of what you really didn't want in your food. Like we didn't want Bacon in our food and soup, asked several times if they can serve these without bacon. ( though bacon items seems here very common in Poland of course) But they (Staffs) told us they would serve the soup without bacon which we guess was cooked with bacon already 🙄🙄😅. They served it strained out the bacon but still there were some of these left. After telling this to them they did not even say sorry or felt guilty for that 🤪. That felt really strange as a tourist. By the way other foods were okay but the price seemed little higher. May be its a tourist destination that's why.

I was looking for a Polish cuisine to have a nice, hearty home food lunch, and I wasn't disappointed! I tried a kotlet schabowy — fried pork breaded cutlet — with baked potatoes and stewed cabbage (with bacon!), to which I also ordered some fresh coleslaw and a glass of kompot. The lunch was incredibly filling, and the entirety cost me just 59 zlotys. The place was thematically decorated with autumn stuff like pumpkins and whatnot. Also, the signs in the room will make sure that you pay attention to their impressive variety of Polish vodka 😅 The service was very nice. I was seated almost instantly, regularly checked on by the waiters, and was surprised by Polish krówka candies in a basket with my check! The menu's are available in both Polish and English, several tables around me were also waited in English, so feel free to come!

Martyna was a super server, we 3 sisters were jet lagged from our trip from the U.S. and she was friendly, helpful and kind! The food was delicious ( pierogies!) . Hope to go back before we leave G’dansk.

Enormous portion if you select Placek po Zbójnicku (or any big portion of your meal). Personally I would rather have it if the meat chunks were cut into smaller pieces and were a little bit softer but overall it was tasty. Food arrived quickly (15 minutes of waiting for two dishes) and service was nice and homely. My score is 7.5/10.

If you order the woodcutter pork dish, you don't need a starter. Big portion and delicious. Excellent service by Macsmillan. They also have 150 different vodkas!

After we visited Gdansk zoo and read great comments about this place we had lunch here. And for us it was a little bit dissapointing. We ordered Pierogi feast 38 zl (9 pcs of pierogies), pierogies with cottage cheese and rasberies from kids menu (24 zl) and bandit pancake (massive potato pancake with goulash in the middle) 49zl. Main reasons its 3 stars: our pierogies lacked flavor, far from best peirogies we had previously, and our kid got wrong order - not sweet pierogies but with cottage cheese and potatoes and plate looked sadly. Pancake with goulash was massive and tasted good.

We visited this restaurant a total of four times on this trip, and it's our third time in Gdansk. Every time we come here, we are reminded of why we always choose this place. Let me start with the food - it's simply heavenly. The flavors served here are a culinary experience you must try for yourself. The portions are generous and satisfying, and every bite is a delight to the taste buds. It's clear that the chefs here place great emphasis on quality and presentation. The incredible staff is also worth mentioning. They go above and beyond to ensure you have a memorable experience. Their attention to detail and willingness to cater to guests' needs are remarkable. As for the cocktails, we appreciate the recommendations. Sex on the Beach and Mango Mojito sound delicious! This restaurant clearly sets a high standard, even when it comes to beverages. The prices here are also very reasonable, making this place even more attractive. I have no doubt that we will continue to visit this fantastic place, and I would highly recommend it to anyone in Gdansk. It's undoubtedly one of the best restaurant experiences you can have, and we look forward to returning ourselves.

Upon entering it seemed the staff were ignoring me waiting to be seated as they passed by. Eventually someone confirmed that I wasn't invisible and showed me to a table. From there the experience was all positive. Great food, with friendly recommendations from the staff. Chill vibe in the restaurant made it just as comfortable to eat solo as it would be to dine with company. The dishes were decent portion and very reasonable. I'd recommend the minced pork cutlet (though I didn't care for the texture of the mushrooms that came with it). Really delicious and filling polish traditional meal. All in all, for just about 100zloty (£20), I had 2 mains a desert and 2 soft drinks. Great eat

This is one of the best restaurants in Gdansk for sure top 5 in Gdansk. The food tasted great, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. This is totally worth a visit. I'll definitely go here again next time I'm in Gdansk. Really nice vibe. So I hope you also don't miss you.

The food was gorgeous and the staff were friendly. We ordered the raspberry lemonade which was delicious and refreshing. However we did have to wait for over an hour and a half for a seat as there were many reservations and no one came to acknowledge that we were waiting for the first hour.

If you want to try Polish cuisine - this is the place to go to. :) I can recommend the duck. Food tastes good and the portions are decent.

Went to this restaurant as Walkative (walking tour provider) recommends it for local food. The location of the restaurant is not too far from the main town. The menu for food was good as it offered mostly local polish food. There were a few choices of local beer and the waiter was very helpful on helping as choose what to order depending on what type of beer we like. We ordered a pork knuckle which was a generous portion! The food and the beer were great :)

My preferred restaurant in Gdansk: tasty food, good prices and huge portions! All waiters can speak a more than decent English.

This restaurant was advised by the owner of a coffee shop. While I expected a traditional Polish restaurant, I was nicely surprised by the modern tone of the restaurant. I had the meal of the day and I really enjoyed it. On top of that, the price was reasonable. We're not that far away from the old city of Gdansk. So I highly recommend it if you're not afraid of nice surprises.

The portion of the main dish is huge. But overall, the taste was just ok, and felt that something didn't add up or was missing in both dishes that I had (just my personal preference).

Absolutely amazing, true polish food. Bid portions, Legendary Schnitzel is a must. A tasting pierogi set (3 types) was great for my foreign companion.

Service was good, although the we were brought the wrong drinks. What's worst is the food poisoning I got after from eating the oily pancake with undercooked beef in gravy sauce. Two days later I still feel awful.

Nice service, insanely delicious pierogi, probably the best I've ever eaten in my life! I highly recommend it!

Had their legendary massive pork cutlet (45 PLT) to share and it was one of the best pork cutlet I’ve had. The meat was really well marinated and their batter was surprisingly light. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Best local food restaurant in Gdansk. Had the best Kashubian Beef pierogies. Wow. Unbelievable. Atmosphere great, music really good. Flights of vodka too. Lol. From Winnipeg Canada

Fast, easy and affordable traditional polish dishes. Nothing spectacular but good if you are hungry and want to eat local.

  • 5/5 Agnieszka M. 1 year ago on Google
The food was excellent! I am Polish and I though it won't be better than my mum's but it was! The only minus is for the music, which could be Polish (or I wish). I'm sure there is a Polish jazzy version to the Jingle Bells.
