An excellent milk bar with a classic menu. As a Polish person I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Probably not a place for high-maintenance tourists expecting to speak English here, but easy to order as there is a display of food offered at the counter. Prices OK, lovely carrot juice and chicken with mash. Polite service.

Very unusual place worth visiting. Image a canteen from the communism time. Very raw decor, with beautiful vintage photos of Gdansk. Good food, big portions, very cheap. Unfortunately I don't think if there is menu and service in any other language but polish, however it's worth of trying and experience it!... if you are brave enough 😉

Typical polish cuisine. Big dishes and a lot of variety. Some vegetarian options too. Located at the Old town main street. Prices are cheaper than other restaurants in the surroundings. It works like a buffet: you have to order at the bar and pay before eat. What did I not like? I felt the workers don’t have much sympathy nor empathy with tourists. Moreover, they told me they don’t speak English, and it’s strange because it’s in the most touristic zone.

I’ve been visiting this place for a couple of months. Very tasty food, friendly customer service (especially the Chef!) and great location. If you are up for a quick and reasonably priced bite or you want to try some of the traditional Polish dishes - I highly recommend this place!

This place does not have an English menu as advertised outside and the staff speaks only a little English. However they have most foods on display and so you can point to what you want to order. I had the pork knuckle with cabbage and it was delicious. Prices are very good and meals are filling. Kompot is very delicious, too. No frills as expected at a milk bar. And don't forget to clear your tray before you leave!

Well!! whats not to like?? good quality cheap food, quick service, a good amount of variety ... We came here twice and enjoyed it a lot. One thing I would ask people to be careful about is that the fish is per 100gm, I ended up paying double because of the size but no complains, its still cheaper than what we are used to in USA. The beet soup is heavenly. The Salmon, potato pancake, pork cutlet and the goulash is great too. I highly recommend this. Just go.

Classic cheap food in the middle of old town. Best buckweat side and zurek (sour rye soup). Top 3 of mlecny bars in Gdansk. Staff helpful and friendly.

Nice milk bar just on the Long Street. The food is cheap and tastes good (wouldn’t say great haha). Better than the food here is the location, on the first floor there are tables next to the windows, where you can eat and watch tourists going along the street. I recommend this place for people that don’t want to spend a lot of money on food.

Delicious food, restaurant was clean. The lady serving the food was nice, the woman on the cash desk not so nice but the transaction was quick so cant complain. Would definitely recommend for a cheap traditional lunch in Gdansk

Great traditional, unassuming, old style mleczny bar. The food was very good and it felt home made. It is like going back to the 80s. Yes, the lady at the cash register is not so nice but who cares? The food is great and inexpensive. I do not understand the low reviews

Very authentic cafeteria in the heart of Gdańsk. The staff does not seem to speak English, but it’s not a problem if you have a translater on your phone. Delicious authentic food, huge portions! And a very good price

A little stressful ordering but the food was very tasty and well seasoned. Yes, they had run out of some food items but if they're popular dishes that will happen. Despite that, we weren't disappointed and exceeded my expectations of home cooked style food. Price is as expected for the location on the main tourist street.

Good food, a bit hard to order in English unfortunately, they have a big menu in several languages but the actual options are apparently different.

Rude, Rude, Rude. We went here as it was recommended in Rick Steve’s’ Snapshot guide. We were the only people in the milk-bar. After humbly noting that we did not speak Polish, the attendant was haughty. Then when I asked if we were too early, he responded with my same words in perfect German and English that hr was sorry he did not understand. My autistic son was with us and he I sissy I wearing a mask. While we were looking at the items, this gentleman made a snide comment about the mask to the cashier. I speak English, German and Spanish unfortunately, I don’t understand Polish but I do understand rude. So we left There are plenty of other great eateries in Gdańsk with people who actually enjoy tourists. Across the street is a restaurant with a sign saying “please be Kind” I guess this fellow didn’t read it

This is the place where Polish people go for lunch or dinner. Really authentic! No English menu but you can show what you want from the display. The dishes are really local, so don't expect the touristic version of pierogi you get in other restaurants. Also super budget friendly. Not a surprise though!

Worst and very expensive experience in Gdansk. Nothing but sadness. Do not trust all these good reviews - they tricked us, it's a scam. Total disappointment. 66 zlotas per 2 people for 2 pancakes with apple and cherries, 1 piece of week old pie slice and 2 instant coffee cups..

It used to be my favourite place when visiting Gdansk. I went there a week ago and food was horrible. Not fresh. Really bad. I couldnt eat it.

Not all the menu is always available. But the location is very good. Food tasted good. Price is relatively cheap.

My must-visit every time I am in Gdansk. It is not perfect (lazy dumplings were a,bit overcooked, but still so good), but their food tastes like mom-made, home-made real Polish food. The prices are amazing, you can get stuffed for few euro.:-D And if somebody whinges about it not being a top-notch restaurant: oh go to hell: it is a milk bar: they are not supposed to be fancy, they are supposed to be cheap and home-made style. Bonus: if you are a vegeterian and ask which foods were cooked on animal bouillon, you will get good advice.

It's a wonderful experience. It's casual, affordable dining in a traditional "milk bar".

2 euros for a soup Self service fast food with typical home made polish food. Quite affordable and clean. They charged us a bit more than the price on the menu.

If you are in town, you have to try this restaurant. It’s a cosy post communist polish restaurants that serve very traditional polish food that are kind of fading out as it is hard to make them (I asked my polish friends and they told me this), the prices are ridiculously affordable, with my whole meal that I seriously almost couldn’t finish( and I usually eat a lot) came down to 27zł which is like 6euros. Furthermore definitely try the kompot drink that is free- a really nice homemade fruit drink that has real fruits in it, unlike those market bought ones.

You can not visit Gdansk without eating a genuine Polish meal at Neptun. A 2 course lunch is around 35 pln and a 3 course around 49 pln. So affordable and good food.
